Deviant Kings: Claimed by The Four Lycan Kings
Chapter 34: Five Minutes or All NightAdeline’s pov~
Before I could wrap my head around his strange reaction, Blake straightened up to his full height and offered me a sharp, commanding tilt of his head.
"Come with me," he said smoothly.
I scoffed, taking an immediate step back, my arms crossing defensively over my chest.
"No. I’m not coming anywhere with you. I just told you to leave! Get out of my dorm, Lord Blake, and stay the hell out of my life!"
Blake’s terrifying seriousness dissolved in an instant, replaced by that insufferable, casual teasing smile that made me want to scream.
"Well, just five minutes, Adeline," he cooed softly, taking a slow step toward me like a predator cornering prey. "Just a casual walk in the courtyard. Walk with me for five minutes."
"Are you insane?" I let out a harsh, bitter laugh, glaring right into his eyes. "Seriously, Lord Blake? Now you want me to go on a stroll with you? Just get out! Choose some other highborn chick for your entertainment, stop messing with me, and get the fuck out of my room!"
Miya let out another horrified gasp from the doorway, completely shocked that a wolfless defect was cursing out the Lord of the Fourth Throne, but Blake didn’t even blink. He just tilted his head, his smile widening slightly.
"Are you sure?" he asked, his tone deceptively soft.
"Yes!" I yelled, my jaw locked tight. "Leave. Right now."
Blake held my gaze for three agonising seconds before he let out a dramatic, exaggerated sigh.
"Okay, then. Fine."
A heavy breath I didn’t even realise I was holding escaped my lungs. Relief began to wash over my exhausted, aching mind until he turned his back on the open door.
My relief died in my throat.
My eyes widened in absolute, paralysing horror as Blake casually walked right past me, kicked off his heavy boots, and swung his long legs up onto my mattress.
He leaned back, resting his broad shoulders comfortably against my wooden headboard, crossing his arms over his chest like he owned the entire room. He looked up at me with a lazy, triumphant smirk.
"If we’re not going for a walk," Blake murmured, his dark eyes flashing with a dangerous, possessive light, "then I guess I’ll just stay right here."
"Are you out of your absolute mind?!" I shrieked, the raw frustration tearing up my throat. I marched straight to the edge of the mattress, glaring down at him. "Get off my bed! Get the hell off my bed right now, Blake!"
Blake didn’t move an inch. He just rested his hands lazily behind his head, crossing one ankle over the other as if he were relaxing in a royal estate rather than a wolfless girl’s cramped dorm room.
"Make me," he murmured, his dark eyes sparkling with an insufferable, amused warmth that sent my blood pressure soaring through the roof.
"I can’t make you, and you damn well know it!" I spat, my fists clenching so tight my nails bit painfully into my palms. "You’re a Highborn Prince! You’re four times my size, loaded with Lycan power, and you’re invading my private space! Does the Lord of the Fourth Throne really have nothing better to do than torment a scentless nobody?"
"Torment?" Blake echoed smoothly, clicking his tongue in mock disappointment. "Adeline, sweetheart, I’m making sure you don’t collapse. You were beaten half to death this morning, fed royal blood an hour ago, and now you’re standing there vibrating with enough fury to set the drapes on fire. I’m practically doing community service."
"Community service?!" I barked out a harsh, disbelieving laugh, taking a frantic step forward.
"You’re ruining my life! Look at Miya! She’s standing at the door looking like she’s plotting my murder! The moment you walk out of here, every highborn girl in this wing is going to make my existence a living hell because you decided to make yourself comfortable on my mattress!"
From the threshold, Miya’s eyes were practically bulging out of her head, her jaw tight enough to crack stone.
Blake didn’t even bother casting a single glance toward the doorway. He just tilted his head, his gaze anchoring onto mine with a heavy, suffocating weight.
"Let them try," he said softly, the casual tone in his voice underlaid with a sudden, lethal promise. "If anyone in this wing so much as breathes on you the wrong way, they can answer to the Fourth Throne."
"I don’t WANT you to protect me!" I yelled, my voice cracking under the sheer weight of total exhaustion. Tears of raw anger burned at the corners of my eyes, but I forced them back. I refused to cry in front of him.
"I don’t want your throne, I don’t want your protection, and I don’t want you on my bed! Just leave me alone!"
Blake stayed still for a long, quiet moment, taking in my trembling frame, my clenched fists, and the fierce, stubborn glare I refused to drop. The playful smirk on his lips softened just a fraction, turning into something far more dangerous—a quiet, unyielding amusement.
"I told you the solution like what? Ten seconds ago, Adeline," he said lazily, patting the mattress beside his leg.
"Five minutes. Walk with me to the courtyard, let the fresh air clear that stubborn head of yours, and I’ll leave you to your precious beauty sleep. Or..." He stretched his long arms out, resting his head back against the headboard with a slow, deliberate sigh. "...I stay right here. All night. We can share the pillow."
My jaw dropped. "You wouldn’t dare."
"Try me," Blake whispered, a slow, predatory grin spreading across his sharp face. "I’ve got nowhere to be until tomorrow’s class. And honestly? This mattress is surprisingly comfortable."
"You are a terrifying, arrogant, insufferable bastard," I muttered under my breath, not bothering about whoever heard me or not, my chest heaving as I looked from his smug face to the doorway, where Miya looked ready to faint from pure shock.
I knew he wasn’t bluffing. Princes of the High Thrones didn’t care about rules, dorm curfews, or social propriety.
If I didn’t give him what he wanted, he would genuinely lie on my bed until sunrise, and I fucking don’t want any stupid damn drama.
I was cornered, exhausted, and running on pure spite.
"Fine!" I practically growled the word out.
