Deviant Kings: Claimed by The Four Lycan Kings
Chapter 36: "I Want Your V-Card"Adeline’s pov~
The silence stretched between us, thick and oppressive, until Blake finally broke it.
"I’m not going to eat you, Adeline," he murmured, his hands thrust deep into the pockets of his dark trousers as he glanced down at me. "At least... not yet. Now talk to me."
I kept my eyes locked straight ahead, my sneakers clicking rhythmically against the stone. "I have nothing to talk to you about. More like, I have nothing to even do here, and nothing to do with you."
Blake let out a low, dark chuckle and stopped walking entirely. He turned his broad chest toward me, crossing his arms over his chest as that insufferable, dangerous smirk returned to his sharp face.
"But I have a lot to do with you," he whispered, his eyes gleaming with a predatory light in the gloom.
I paused, turning my head to glare straight into his eyes, my hands buried deep in my hoodie pockets. "Don’t mess with me, Blake. You have three minutes and forty-five seconds left. Use them quietly or get lost."
"Fine then," Blake said, his tone shifting, dropping the playful edge for something far heavier, far more deliberate. "I want something from you."
A sudden wave of deep confusion washed over my anger. I stared at him, my brow furrowing beneath the cold air. "What? You want something from me? I’m a scentless, wolfless transfer living off academy scraps, Lord Blake. I don’t have a single thing to give a Prince of the High Thrones."
I turned and resumed walking down the courtyard path, wanting to keep the clock running. Blake immediately fell into step beside me, his long strides effortless, his shadow devouring mine.
"No, you have it," he insisted softly, his gravelly voice vibrating close to my ear. "And I want it."
A bitter, humourless scoff escaped my throat as I shook my head in utter disbelief.
"I don’t have anything that belongs to you," I spat, my voice raw with exhaustion and sharp anger. "And all I want from you is to stop messing with me and get the fuck out of my life! If you want something—if you’re so desperate for tribute—go ask those pretty, highborn wolf girls sitting in the lounge. They will serve you with a lot of pleasure, even if it’s cleaning the dirt off your boots with their tongue. Go bother them!"
"No," Blake said, his tone absolute, dark, and unwavering. "I want that only from you."
"I have nothing!" I snapped, my patience finally snapping like a brittle twig.
I stopped abruptly on the stone path and whipped around to face him head-on, my fists clenching tight in my pockets. "Stop messing with me with these goddamn riddle shits! What the hell do you actually want from me, Lord Blake?!"
Blake didn’t flinch. He didn’t look angry, annoyed, or even remotely thrown off by my outburst. He just stepped into my personal space, towering over me in the dim twilight, and looked down into my eyes with a calm, casual, terrifying smile.
"Your V-card," he said casually.
The world stopped.
The rustling of the night wind, the distant humming of the academy wards, the sound of my own frantic breathing- everything vanished into a silent, deafening void.
My heart dropped straight into the dark pit of my stomach. My blood ran ice-cold, every nerve ending in my body freezing in place as the brutal, horrifying words echoed inside my skull over and over again.
What... did he just say?
I stared at him, my jaw slightly slack, my eyes wide with total, unadulterated shock, completely paralysed beneath the gaze of the Lord of the Fourth Throne.
I stood frozen on the stone pathway, the cold night air lunging into my lungs, but I couldn’t draw a single breath. My mind reeled, spinning completely out of control as I stared up into his pitch-black, amused eyes.
Did I mishear him? Did my ears trick me in the dark?
No.
The smooth, calm confidence radiating off his massive frame confirmed every single syllable that had just left his lips. The sheer audacity of it hung between us like a physical, suffocating cloud.
"Are you... are you fucking insane?" I choked out, my voice cracking, barely more than a terrified, outraged whisper. The shock was instantly replaced by a wave of white-hot, suffocating fury that burned right through the exhaustion in my veins. "Is this a joke to you? Is this your new idea of a game, Lord Blake?!"
"Do I look like I’m joking, Adeline?" Blake asked softly, taking a single, deliberate step closer.
He didn’t smirk this time. The playful demeanour vanished entirely, replaced by an intense, terrifyingly serious presence that seemed to swallow the dim twilight whole.
He loomed over me, his broad shoulders blocking out the faint moonlight, his shadow completely devouring my small frame.
"I don’t play games with things I want," he murmured, his gravelly voice dropping into a low, primal register that sent a violent, icy shiver straight down my spine. "You asked me what I wanted. I gave you a direct answer."
"You think just because you sit on a High Throne, you can just stroll into my life, sit on my bed, and demand my virginity like it’s some trophy to put on your wall?!" I yelled, my fists clenching so tight in my hoodie pockets that my knuckles turned paper-white.
My voice trembled with a lethal mix of rage and humiliation. "I am not a prize for your bored, highborn ego to claim!"
"I’m not demanding anything," Blake said quietly, his dark eyes tracking the frantic rise and fall of my shoulders, unbothered by the venom in my tone. "I’m telling you what I want. There’s a difference."
"No, there is not any—"
Before I could finish screaming at him, Blake let out a dark, low chuckle.
I froze, staring at him in utter, paralysed confusion. My jaw was locked tight, my heart hammering like a trapped bird inside my chest.
Why the hell is he laughing right now?
Before I could react or take a step back, Blake reached out and gently tapped the tip of my nose with his index finger.
The sudden, absurd gesture was so unexpected my brain short-circuited. He turned back toward the path, taking a slow, casual stride forward, looking back over his shoulder with a lazy, brilliant grin.
"I was just kidding, crackhead!" he said smoothly.
