Adeline’s pov~

Chloe’s voice echoed off. She stood there, chest heaving violently.

She actually believed her little speech about pack loyalty and territory deals would save her, like that would make the Four Lycan Kings take her side and crush me into the dirt.

Beside me, Raven let out a low, dark chuckle.

"On your side? Seriously..." Raven drawled smoothly, his tone dripping with absolute, lethal mockery.

He slowly lifted his head, his pitch-black eyes locking straight onto Chloe’s pale face. The weight of his gaze hit her like an iron blade, making her flinch violently backwards.

"We were never on the same side in this," Blake said, his voice soft, mocking, and echoing clearly in the quiet court.

"And just because your little pack signed a minor territory deal years ago doesn’t mean you get to go around ordering others using the High Concord’s name. You’re completely out of your depth."

Is this really happening right now? Why were they taking it this far?

Keiran folded his broad arms over his massive chest, his dark brows pulling down into a cold, lethal line as he glared at Lucas and Logan.

"Do you really think we don’t know how your pack got a member onto the board of directors of this academy?" Keiran asked, his voice smooth with terrifying power.

"We knew it all along," Keiran continued.

"You used the High Concord’s name, claiming to the world that you work directly under our command, just to crawl your way onto that board like desperate scavengers. And yet here you stand today... acting as if that cheap, desperate trick forces us to protect you? Even after you dragged our royal name into the dirt just to claw your way to power?"

Lucas looked like he was about to vomit from pure panic. Logan stood completely frozen beside him.

Zyran tilted his head lazily, his dark, pitch-black eyes fixed on the three trembling Alphas across from us.

"Well..." Zyran purred softly. "It wouldn’t take us a single second to rip that territory deal into shreds. And the exact same thing goes for your entire pack... if you ever try to mess with her again."

What did he just say..??

What has gotten into him today?

I sat frozen in my chair, my hands buried deep inside my hoodie pockets, watching the absolute, brutal destruction of the people who had once thrown me away like garbage.

Raven turned his glance back to the terrified trio standing across the floor, his sharp lips curving into a slow, dark smile that promised total ruin.

"By the way, remember this..." Raven added, his voice dropping into a deep, razor-sharp register.

"We were never on the same side. If you stand against Adeline, you are standing directly against us... and against the entire High Concord."

Alpha Vane’s face went completely ghost-white. He forced his gravelly voice out, desperate to save whatever tiny shred of dignity the Disciplinary Committee had left.

"Lords..." Alpha Vane stammered out, his amber eyes darting frantically between the four Lycan Princes. "L-Lords... since this matter has been officially brought before the RDC court, it really should be cleared with proper legal action..."

Before anyone else could speak, before the princes could snap Alpha Vane’s neck for daring to talk back. I spoke up myself.

"He put his hands on me," I said. "I warned him to take his hands off me. He refused. So I took care of the problem myself. I wasn’t intentionally trying to hurt him. And... I’m not stupid. If I was intentionally trying to hurt him, then why would I fucking scratch—"

"Alpha Logan put his hands on a woman protected by my throne," Raven interrupted softly, cutting me off abruptly. I turned my face to look at him.

Now, he wouldn’t even let me speak?

"In accordance with the Ancient Code, she had every right to cut his entire arm off at the elbow. He should consider himself extremely fortunate that she only left him with a minor scratch. Therefore," Raven said.

"This absurd disciplinary hearing is officially concluded. The charges against Adeline Vance are cleared."

"If anyone in this room, or in the Crescent Pack, attempts to question her standing or lay a single finger on her again..." Raven paused, his pitch-black eyes swept lazily over Alpha Vane, Lucas, Logan, and finally settled on Chloe’s horrified face.

"...I will personally wipe their pack name off the territory maps before nightfall."

Raven rose to his feet, his towering frame casting a long, imposing shadow across the dais. He didn’t say another word to the trembling court. He just looked down at me and gave a brief, sharp gesture for me to stand.

I stood up slowly, keeping my hands shoved deep inside my hoodie pockets.

Every single member of the Disciplinary Committee was bowing their heads in terrifying reverence as the Four Kings prepared to leave.

I didn’t linger to watch the Crescent Pack drown in their own public humiliation, nor did I waste a single glance on Chloe’s pale face or Logan’s pathetic, bandaged frame.

I simply turned my back on all of them and calmly walked out of the courtroom.

Behind me, the heavy, rhythmic thud of leather boots echoed against the polished stone floor. All four Lycan Princes were following right behind me.

I could feel the suffocating heat of their presence wrapping around me. I could feel their collective gaze burning directly into my back, sharp, intense, and possessive.

What the hell just happened back there? What am I supposed to say to them now?

My mind was a chaotic mess of questions I couldn’t answer.

Am I supposed to thank them? For what? I never asked them to storm into the court and throw their weight around for me. Last night, I explicitly told Raven to stay out of my business. I told him I didn’t want his protection... Oh my Goddess...so why did he do all of this anyway? What are they playing at? Ahhh...

"Adeline!"

A frantic voice shattered my racing thoughts. Sierra came sprinting down the hallway, her face pale with worry.

"Oh my god, girl, are you okay?" Sierra gasped, searching my face with wide, panicked eyes. "What happened in there? Did they hurt you? What did the RDC decide? Did Lord Raven manage to clear—"

Her words cut off instantly. The colour drained from her cheeks, and her jaw dropped in absolute terror as her gaze drifted past my shoulder.

She had just caught sight of the four towering figures standing right behind me.

I didn’t turn around to look at them.

I didn’t want to see the dark, unreadable expressions I knew were waiting for me. I couldn’t handle the crushing weight of their stares for another second.

"I’m starving," I said softly to Sierra, taking her by the wrist and pulling her along. "Let’s go get something to eat."

"Wait... Adeline, hold on," Sierra stammered, her voice shaking violently as she let me drag her down the corridor. "Are you... Are you serious right now? We can’t just walk away from—"

"I said, I’m hungry, Sierra," I repeated, my tone flat, calm, and completely unyielding. "Let’s go."

As we walked away, the silent pressure at my back didn’t fade. I knew they were watching every single step I took.
