Divine Beast Creator

Chapter 2538 - 2539: Pursuing Deeper Within

The reappearance of Shi and Xilnaes did not cause as much of a stir as before. After all, everyone had guessed that Feng Yuan was looking for their help again. With the internal situation temporarily stable, the other party was not likely to act recklessly, so there was really nothing to worry about.

Xilnaes did not cross the world’s barrier to descend into the real world. Shi swam through the world’s boundary heading towards the spatial fissure. Veronia said with some surprise,

"Even if it approaches, it makes me feel the suppression of this space is affected, truly a being of another level."

With a wave of her small hand, Veronia transformed into the Crystal Queen form once more. However, this time she expanded the spatial fissure, lest it collapse when Shi passes through.

Watching Shi’s enormous body inexplicably pass through the much smaller spatial fissure, Gitalien couldn’t help but sigh, acknowledging that its power was indeed stronger than theirs. At least, he couldn’t perform such an act with such ease and grace.

Swimming to the stele, Shi glanced at it and then ignored it. With a long howl, the peaceful space stirred with ripples, and within this slightly disturbed space, Shi caught the traces left by the other party.

Without hesitation, the energy Shi held in its mouth burst out instantly, impacting this space much more forcefully than Veronia did. In the space shockwave, War Qichen could only ensure his own safety, unable to care for Qi Chen and the others.

"Is this..."

Looking at the black cylindrical passage, Veronia was too astonished to speak. Shi was naturally not a Space Divine Beast, yet it performed an even more astounding feat than one.

Opening a spatial passage, trampling through the space storm to do so; something even Gitalien couldn’t accomplish was not difficult for Shi.

Of course, remembering the other party’s identity, it’s not surprising. Unlike the Divine Beasts of the real world, Shi and Xilnaes need to shelter the entire Yin World, so their abilities are naturally less restrained than an ordinary Divine Beast’s.

"Hmph, can’t hide anymore now, can you?"

Seeing the appearance of the spatial passage, Feng Yuan said smugly. Shi glanced at Feng Yuan without saying anything and flew into the spatial passage first. Seeing this, Feng Yuan immediately called on Qi Chen and the others to follow.

Feng Yuan couldn’t be certain if those guys would continue to ambush Qi Chen and the others.

The spatial passage was cylindrical in shape, its walls a flowing plane of starry clouds, looking quite mysterious with a hint of strangeness. It was not a short passage, and after walking for a while, the front suddenly lit up. Just as Feng Yuan thought they had reached the end, the scene ahead stunned him.

"As expected, even it cannot ignore the peculiarities here."

Veronia looked at the bright Time River ahead knowingly. Before, she doubted whether Shi could directly cross the Time River through the spatial passage to reach the other party’s temporal branch. Now it seemed it didn’t have such enormous power.

Shi roared again, and the transparent crystal passage connected to the spatial passage continued to extend forward. Feng Yuan glanced at Veronia and teased,

"Looks like Shi can continue tracking them."

Running along the crystal passage, Qi Chen and the others felt as if they were in a dream. Surrounding them were dazzling crystals, and beyond the crystals, the spectacular Time River exceeded the limits of human vision. The spatial corridor felt like a grand avenue traversing the endless starry sky, carrying them across this dreamlike Time River.

"This section of the Time River looks a bit different from what we saw before."

War Qichen, following behind Feng Yuan, couldn’t help but ask. Feng Yuan, as he ran, said,

"That’s normal. The Time River is not static. In different regions, its manifestations aren’t necessarily the same. This area is considered a regular zone, meaning an area with no significant changes or influences. Here, the Time River hardly fluctuates."

"In usual circumstances, we don’t enter this area because it is very stable yet vulnerable to outside forces. As soon as intruders cause damage, this section of the Time River will ripple or even affect other areas."

"What I didn’t expect was that they would choose to pass through this area. However, it’s understandable because this area isn’t only less frequented by Spirit Beasts; temporal storms also rarely appear here."

Initially, Feng Yuan didn’t think they would take this route. After all, though the area was quiet, any reckless disturbance with the Time River’s reaction would make their target exceedingly obvious.

Since they frequently visit areas experiencing temporal corrections, even if they accidentally did something there, it might not be easily noticeable. However, here it’s different; any change would make the target glaringly obvious.

"Then, is it alright for us to pass through here?"

Hesitating slightly, War Qichen asked. Although Feng Yuan didn’t elaborate, he wasn’t a fool. The consequences of causing disturbances within the Time River are imaginable.

Moreover, Feng Yuan mentioned their infrequent visits to this area precisely to avoid disrupting its tranquility. So, was moving through so boldly perhaps...

"It’s no big deal. In extraordinary times, extraordinary measures are needed. I believe Agunas and the others would understand. If not, Shi and the others joining forces to suppress it isn’t out of the question."

Feng Yuan didn’t slow his pace because of this. The person behind the scenes was driving him crazy. Instead of continuing the back-and-forth struggle, it was better to charge right into the enemy’s lair.

As for whether it would affect the Time River?

There would be some, but Feng Yuan didn’t really care. After all, as long as they weren’t intentionally destroying anything, the impact on the Time River wouldn’t be significant.

"Finally, we’ve got you!"

Looking at the white expanse ahead, Feng Yuan sneered. This kind of environment is rare within the Time River, let alone the spatial passage plunging into that white light. Clearly, that must be the hidden third time stream!

Although Feng Yuan hadn’t really ventured into the Time River much, during their previous actions, he memorized the positions of The Imperial Timeline and the War Timeline. This time stream, distant from these two and even further from the main timeline, must be the concealed time stream.

After the white light, the group arrived in a modernized metropolis. Because Shi temporarily veiled the space, their sudden invasion did not cause a stir.

"Where... is this?"

Gazing at the surrounding skyscrapers, Feng Yuan was at a loss. Unlike in the usual sense, the skyscrapers here pierced the clouds. Flying roads and hovering vehicles gave Feng Yuan the feeling he had walked onto the wrong film set.

"A strange place."

Qi Chen looked puzzled and bewildered. Although he had never seen such a place, as sci-fi films exist in our category, for him as a Beastmaster, is this place too sci-fi?

"From a perspective of normal time evolution, this place seems quite odd. Such advanced technology beyond the modern era doesn’t seem like a probable development at this equal time point."

Veronia commented. Initially, she hadn’t paid much mind, but after entering this time stream, she realized things weren’t as simple as she had thought.

This scene, so distinct from the three timelines, made her question the specifics of this timeline.

"If this is one of the possibilities, another you should be here."

Dou Yanlan said, looking at Qi Chen. Reflecting on the previous incident where Qi Chen was attacked, she believed another Qi Chen was surely here. And as long as he existed, no matter how peculiar this time stream appeared, it was progressing like any other time stream.

After all, they weren’t people significant enough to influence the overall situation. The points at which they appeared during evolution are fixed. In that regard, these individuals can be considered markers or beacons for calculating temporal nodes.

"But how do we find it?"

Scratching his head, Qi Chen looked at Feng Yuan. The latter wasn’t acting but stood still, even Shi circling around to shield them all.

"The temporal nodes here shouldn’t differ too much from those in our world; it’s just this evolutionary direction seems a bit unusual. Moreover, this evolutionary direction doesn’t match the things that were happening."

Currently, Feng Yuan had many new questions left unanswered. Especially this unique city, it seemed like something from the future. Where did this place diverge from the real-world path to become like this?
