Divine Beast Creator

Chapter 2540 - 2541: Qi Realm

"People here attacking you? That’s odd. If it weren’t for your appearance, I wouldn’t have known there’s a possibility of going to your world. Logically, this shouldn’t have been kept from me, and they shouldn’t have any interest in Chen."

Qi Realm Dou Yanlan was astounded by Feng Yuan’s words because she really didn’t know about it, and theoretically, they shouldn’t bypass her to carry out actions related to Qi Chen.

In this world, Qi Realm Dou Yanlan’s status is similar to War Qi Chen’s, yet there’s a difference. War Qi Chen, due to being in a world with constant warfare, has relatively more ruthless policies, as war doesn’t allow for any hesitation.

However, this world is different; there’s no perpetual warfare. Even if there are special needs, no one would ignore someone of Qi Realm Dou Yanlan’s status.

"This isn’t the place to talk. Come with me. You don’t doubt me, do you?"

Qi Realm Dou Yanlan thought for a moment and waved to summon a hovercar, saying, and Feng Yuan sneered lightly, saying

"That’s hard to say. Even with past experiences of fighting alongside each other, I’m not familiar with you. But at least for now, it seems you’re unlikely to do that."

Feng Yuan believed the other party to be smart, and having seen their power, she wouldn’t possibly overlook this point. Even if it was indeed her doing, Feng Yuan wasn’t worried about falling into a trap.

"That’s true; things don’t seem that simple. So many timelines intersecting probably isn’t a good thing."

When she saw two Qi Chens, Qi Realm Dou Yanlan understood something, but there was nothing she could do about it. Could she do anything about it? She didn’t have that kind of strength.

On the hovercar, Qi Chen curiously observed the interior decorations, while War Qi Chen, though curious, managed to suppress his curiosity, focusing instead on Qi Realm Dou Yanlan ahead.

Including last time, this was his second encounter with her. War Qi Chen was somewhat curious about her experiences, but that was all; he would not consider her as a substitute, even though, in a sense, they were the same person.

The hovercar traveled towards the outskirts, and Feng Yuan noticed this, furrowing his brow, saying

"You live in the suburbs?"

"It’s not just me; all combat unit personnel need to guard the borders of the Qi Realm. Do you think I’m planning to take you to an uninhabited area to make a move?"

Driving the hovercar, Qi Realm Dou Yanlan explained without looking back. Feng Yuan chuckled, glanced outside at Eclipse leisurely following the hovercar, saying

"I trust you’re not one of those foolish ones. I have great trust in them."

"That’s settled. Though I’m quite eager to know now what changes occurred and why he would be acting with you, it’s not the right time to discuss this."

The car passed through city roads along the way, and Feng Yuan also learned from Qi Realm Dou Yanlan that Tianhua City, in a sense, was Maomu City, just with obvious geographical differences.

The river cutting across Maomu City did not exist, and Tianhua City was famous for the sky Hawthorn at the city’s center, a wondrous hawthorn tree reaching skyward that even Feng Yuan couldn’t easily determine what it was before seeing it.

Moreover, even though there was overlap between Tianhua City and Maomu City’s residents, they weren’t entirely identical, which Feng Yuan had anticipated.

Regarding technological development, this was an intriguing aspect for Feng Yuan. In fact, this seemingly futuristic technology had rapidly developed over the past century, and the root of the technological boom was the scholar owls.

To be honest, the Main World also utilized scholar owls for research, but their understanding of scholar owls was still quite shallow. In this timeline branch, the scholar owls gathered due to various accidents, eventually forming an extremely terrifying research institution.

Unlike conventional human research institutions, the research institution formed by scholar owls continuously produced various new technologies, only slightly slowing down in modern times.

Feng Yuan wasn’t surprised that scholar owls could achieve this since, after all, they were spirit beasts, and among spirit beasts, researchers were quite rare. But the significant change resulting from the gathering of many scholar owls was still quite astonishing to Feng Yuan.

The Main World also used scholar owls for research, but rarely gathered them on such a large scale, and, in many technical aspects, humans hadn’t taught them.

This wasn’t surprising; researchers were well aware of technological prowess, and hence, they dared not let it get out of control. This timeline branch’s development was an accident; if the scholar owls had embarked on a path of researching war weaponry, it might have led to entirely different scenes.

Although Qi Realm Camp was in the outskirts of the city, it remained picturesque, except for the large area of blue thunder, which was quite distinct, resembling more a high-tech resort.

"Is that... a space anomaly? How can there be such a thing?"

Just one glance and Feng Yuan understood the blue lightning’s nature. Space twisted here, and two regions that originally didn’t intersect suddenly connected, naturally leading to spatial conflict and forming such electrical phenomena.

"Space anomaly? That’s one way to put it, but we prefer calling it the Qi Realm,"

"Since the advent of written records, the Qi Realm has always accompanied human civilization. Although the regions connected by the Qi Realm aren’t always the same, the occurrence location is relatively fixed. We build cities outside the Qi Realm, while the Qi Realm is our second frontier."

Qi Realm Dou Yanlan said, with War Qi Chen furrowing his brows, questioning

"Have you never considered solving this? If it randomly connects different regions, isn’t there a possibility of war erupting at some point?"

War Qi Chen, coming from a war timeline, was highly sensitive to this matter. Qi Realm Dou Yanlan replied with a smile,

"If it wasn’t like this, how could we be stationed here? Also, the Qi Realm isn’t that simple. Sometimes, the Qi Realm connects to unknown worlds, worlds that are bizarre yet filled with unique resources..."

Saying this, Qi Realm Dou Yanlan fell into memories. After a moment, she wiped away the tears from her eyes, stating,

"I might as well tell you all. Chen got into trouble during an adventure into the Deep Layer of the Qi Realm. Although... we tried our best to reach him as quickly as possible, but..."

War Qi Chen silently stepped forward; he didn’t offer any comforting words, just gently patting her shoulder before turning to face War Qi Chen. Suddenly, Qi Realm Dou Yanlan smiled, remarking,

"So, you’re also like me..."

People at Qi Realm Camp were surprised by Qi Realm Dou Yanlan bringing back so many people, but perhaps due to her usual authority, no one objected.

At Qi Realm Dou Yanlan’s home, Feng Yuan briefly described the current situation. Upon learning that the three timelines were in chaotic conflict, Qi Realm Dou Yanlan rubbed her forehead, appearing troubled, saying,

"I didn’t expect it to be so complex. I can confirm that we, Tianhua, won’t invade your world; moreover, we lack the ability to do so. However, I’m also unsure who attacked you. Of course, you could suspect other people from Tianhua since my authority is limited, and I can’t know all strategies."

She truly didn’t expect other worlds to have started fighting, especially knowing the Imperial Timeline and Main Timeline were battling, which made the situation even more challenging. Even wanting to choose a side seemed impossible now.

"You don’t have any suspects?"

Feng Yuan looked at Qi Realm Dou Yanlan in surprise, attempting to discern if she was lying. With a helpless smile, Qi Realm Dou Yanlan replied,

"None. Honestly, from what I know, due to the Qi Realm’s existence, we haven’t specifically studied technologies to break space. At least, in my understanding, that’s quite difficult, let alone crossing worlds."

"Oh? Why?"

Curiously observing her, Feng Yuan didn’t detect any signs of deceit from her. Qi Realm Dou Yanlan got up, walked to the window, and gazed at the distant Qi Realm boundary, explaining,

"Despite the static appearance of this boundary, using spatial movement often results in being swept into the Qi Realm’s chaos. Hence, not to mention researching related technologies, even space-attribute Spirit Beasts are significantly constrained."

"I see."

Rubbing his chin, Feng Yuan seemed to understand something and had his next investigative direction. As for whether Qi Realm Dou Yanlan was hiding something, Feng Yuan leaned towards no, as there was no need. Since there was an attempt to befriend, intentional concealment wasn’t something a smart person would do.

Qi Realm... this peculiar entity appearing in this timeline branch doesn’t seem so simple after all.
