"No, that’s probably a specialized awakening domain?"
After observing closely for a while, Feng Yuan said with some surprise. The Forest Domain Awakening unleashed by the Hao Chun Bird wasn’t just about a limited range; Feng Yuan noticed that the powers of the Forest Domain hardly interacted with the surrounding environment.
In other words, normal domain awakening materializes the environment similar to real objects; even trees would be affected by the wind. However, the unconventional Forest Domain awakened by the Hao Chun Bird is different. Although the forest looks tangible, the battlefield’s gales couldn’t move even a single leaf.
This is completely different from a normal domain awakening. However, even with this observation, Feng Yuan couldn’t determine what had changed in the Forest Domain.
A moment passed, and the Hao Chun Bird made another move. This time, sharp vines sliced through the forest brought by the domain awakening, aiming at the massive crystal. Yet, the defenses inherent to the crystal blocked the vines outside the Crystal Barrier.
"It’s not a barrier-breaking ultimate move, or rather, I can’t figure out which ultimate move matches this."
Feng Yuan hesitated for a moment and said, oddly enough, Hao Chun Bird’s ultimate move seemed peculiar from the start. Typically, Feng Yuan could identify a Beast Tamer’s ultimate move, but Hao Chun Bird’s move didn’t fall into any recognizable category for him, at least.
"Could it be an adaptive ultimate move?"
Dou Yanlan pondered and speculated a possibility. After all, the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound has the ability to change ally attributes in attack stance; Hao Chun Bird should have something similar, right? Not to mention, Hao Chun Bird’s original role is assisting in offense and supporting teammates, with the integrated influence potentially solidifying into an attribute transformation ability.
"It’s hard to say. If they’re all adaptive moves, well... wait! The first ultimate move, could it be changing or confirming attributes?"
Feng Yuan shook his head slightly and suddenly posed after thinking about something. Initially, he hadn’t considered this possibility, but upon reflection, the starlight in Hao Chun Bird’s first move seemed too odd and incomprehensible. Could it be that in the Qi Realm stance, Hao Chun Bird’s ultimate move logic has drastically changed?
Thinking this, Feng Yuan directly stepped forward to discuss the matter with Qi Chen, and as expected, through repeated testing, they were astonished to find that the starlight from Hao Chun Bird initially was indeed an attribute conversion.
No, to be precise, the originally wood-wind dual attribute Hao Chun Bird, in the Qi Realm stance, directly becomes attributeless. Or rather, without using Mysterious Starlight, Hao Chun Bird has no attribute. The target covered by Mysterious Starlight becomes Hao Chun Bird’s transformed attribute.
Correspondingly, Hao Chun Bird’s ultimate moves also change with the attribute transformation, including the mini-awakening domain that only affects itself.
Indeed, under testing and Veronia’s inquiry, they naturally figured out the nature of the mini Forest Domain Awakening brought forth by Hao Chun Bird.
Calling it a Crystal Domain wouldn’t be entirely correct; while most attribute features are consistent, the scope and effective range are entirely different. The awakening domain unfolded by Hao Chun Bird in the Qi Realm stance only affects itself.
However, beyond these, what truly surprised Feng Yuan and the others was that apart from Mysterious Starlight, Hao Chun Bird also had a move called Starlight Brand.
Unlike Mysterious Starlight, Starlight Brand acts on teammates, transforming their attributes to be consistent with Hao Chun Bird’s, including the ultimate move’s attributes.
Mysterious Starlight and Starlight Brand cannot simultaneously affect the same target, yet even so, Hao Chun Bird’s capability becomes very unique.
Because Mysterious Starlight doesn’t restrict to allies only, meaning in battle, Hao Chun Bird can even use Mysterious Starlight to transform the entire team’s attributes to match the opponents’.
Simultaneously, the targets of the Starlight Brand receive support from the mini-awakening domain, though unable to change ultimate move forms like a conventional domain awakening, merely boosting the ultimate move’s power.
"This transformation sure is... magical."
After testing Hao Chun Bird’s abilities, even Feng Yuan had to marvel that Hao Chun Bird’s assistance capabilities were retained even in attack stance. Although lacking other boosts, the ability to arbitrarily change attributes is already somewhat outrageous.
Moreover, unlike a conventional Attribute Conversion Team, when Hao Chun Bird changes the whole team’s attributes, the Crystal Domain’s additional effects aren’t entirely lost, which is difficult for a conventional Attribute Conversion Team to achieve.
A conventional Attribute Conversion Team can only change specific attributes, although some can change freely, the Domain Crystal can’t effortlessly become a pearl necklace dangling ready for switch; to awaken a domain, corresponding abilities must be available.
Hao Chun Bird is different; while it can’t alter the ultimate move form through domain awakening boosts, the power enhancement effect remains unaffected and judged similar to domain awakening.
"Quite a flexible ability, even superior attributes can be transformed. Unfortunately, it can’t do more."
Inspecting Hao Chun Bird in attack stance, Veronia remarked with interest that typical attribute transformations seldom involve superior attributes, whereas Hao Chun Bird isn’t in this category, even capable of transforming time attributes and converting all ultimate moves into Time Series ultimate moves.
However, such transformation ability is limited to battle, unable to achieve time-traversing abilities and altering time like the Time Series does.
They didn’t doubt a lack of power because the Temporal Spirit Beast provided by Meng Binglan for testing purposes was only Common Level, yet even so, it could perform minor time acceleration and deceleration.
Yet these two abilities Hao Chun Bird couldn’t exhibit, proving the attributes Hao Chun Bird transformed into aren’t particularly complete.
But even so, it’s impressive enough; at least currently, abilities like Hao Chun Bird’s unrestrained alteration of team attributes remain rare.
Ah Mu’s testing was relatively straightforward, or rather, Ah Mu’s transformation wasn’t as complex as Hao Chun Bird’s, merely the ultimate move type altering, without Xiao Ji-style of attribute changes.
However, in testing, Ah Mu did reveal a somewhat unique ultimate move: Great Tree.
Just judging by the name, even Feng Yuan couldn’t discern what function the move had until it was used, revealing its peculiarity.
The Great Tree’s effect isn’t complicated; it can remain effective by consuming a small amount of energy or be voluntarily dispelled. While active, all damage received by teammates within a very large radius is transferred to the user, and each instance of damage adds onto the next attack.
Furthermore, while the status persists, the user may gain a life-stealing effect; otherwise, even if Ah Mu’s attributes aren’t reallocated, using Great Tree wouldn’t sustain for long.
The peculiar aspect of this ultimate move is that you might call it offense-oriented, certainly counting as such, given its main purpose is significantly boosting offense power. As long as escape from being instantly defeated is possible, the greater the damage received, the higher the damage dealt.
Yet beyond this, the Great Tree indirectly forms protection for teammates.
Or perhaps, Ah Mu’s original stance hadn’t even had this sheltering ability. Just joking, such damage transfer ultimate moves do exist, but only appear in certain pure meat-shield Spirit Beasts.
With those Spirit Beasts lacking attack capabilities, unlike Ah Mu who can simultaneously absorb damage while outputting.
"If Great Tree could be learned in the original stance, that would be incredible."
Scratching his chin, Feng Yuan couldn’t help but mutter, unable to do otherwise since in the attack stance, Ah Mu’s damage capacity is severely diminished, unlike the original stance where it can readily endure ultimate moves without being instantly defeated.
In such circumstances, the effect of Great Tree isn’t as strong, considering its enhancements are premised on the user being able to withstand them.
"No way, even we can’t grasp it, should be an exclusive ultimate move."
Veronia heard Feng Yuan’s muttering and replied, even if rare, Ordinary Spirit Beasts indeed have exclusive ultimate moves. Some of these exclusive moves, though not universal, even Divine Beasts can’t learn, including Agunas’ Time Projection which cannot be replicated.
Like the Great Tree, even without attempting, Veronia could affirm Little Crocodile couldn’t project this ultimate move.
Because projection doesn’t entail deploying it oneself but rather materializing an already deployed ultimate move from history. Even if Great Tree could materialize, its activation target couldn’t be Agunas but the Spirit Beast historically executing this ultimate move.
Without the user, this ultimate move couldn’t sustain itself and would cease.
"Such a pity, why does this ultimate move appear in the attack stance?"
Shaking his head with amusement, Feng Yuan said in bewilderment, since from his perspective, this ultimate move is entirely a defensive divine skill.
