Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5248: An Exception?

Davis harvested the Abyssal Hydra Bloodfruit and made his way back up.

Of the thirty-four World Hegemon Grade treasures, seven of them had matured.

One of them was the Dark Eon Illusory Dream Flower, and now Davis had harvested the Abyssal Hydra Bloodfruit. Fortunately, these two were near each other and didn’t require him to take a roundabout path since they were either targeting the nearest treasure or the matured treasures that carried the star mark on the map.

By this time, he knew his avatar, and Jaiyan had also harvested three treasures, one of which was a matured World Hegemon Grade treasure.

It was known as the Boundless Sea Dragon Marrow, a gelatinous essence born from rich water-attributed dragon veins, which was extremely rare since dragon veins were mostly pure, devoid of elemental attributes. It was a heavenly resource that was capable of tempering flesh and nourishing dragon bloodlines.

The other two World Hegemon Grade treasures that had not matured were Nine Mountains Cloud Essence and the Myriad Poison Sovereign Vine. The former was a silver-white gaseous essence, particularly useful for Wind Laws comprehension and in the usage of forging flying artifacts, and the latter was a dark green vine that was useful for Poison Law cultivators and a primary ingredient for an all-curing poison antidote pill.

Davis didn’t know any of these treasures, but Saintess Lunaria’s disciples appeared to be quite knowledgeable.

Jaiyan pridefully said that the third disciple, Reval Heremic, had learned World Hegemon Grade Alchemy to a degree and was capable of making pills at that level.

Davis was honestly surprised.

Concocting World Hegemon Grade pills should be of another level of difficulty altogether since they were pills at the Third Step, the realm of divinity. Even World Hegemon Grade Alchemists might not necessarily be able to create such pills without a significant chance of failure.

Yet, Reval Heremic was able to do it while still being in the Exalt Stage.

Clearly, either his Core Cauldron Body Physique was still overpowered in pill-making, or his prowess had reached the World Hegemon Stage. Perhaps it was both.

Nonetheless, to be able to make pills of that level, he felt Saintess Lunaria wouldn’t need his help at all. She had her disciples to lean on, as they allowed her to climb the ranks. The other disciples naturally benefited from Reval Heremic’s knowledge as they came to know more about the treasures found in the vast world.

He felt it was only a matter of time before Wix Voidfield also broke through, and yet, she was sent to him.

Davis couldn’t help but wonder if there was some other meaning in it.

He felt it was unlikely since it was Saintess Lunaria. She could scheme, but she was kind foremost. He felt like she had likely sent Wix Voidfield to see her sapling Stella and stay together for some time, while the rest of the disciples were sent to help him and his family survive.

But he was sure Saintess Lunaria was going to be angry since he had repeatedly taken advantage of their kindness, dragging them around and finally bringing them here, putting them in grave danger.

Returning to the flying boat, Davis patted Handsome Fatty, who asked about the treasure.

"Hmm, I managed to harvest it without encountering much trouble. The Hexadra Clan seemed to have run that there was no one there to even watch over it, not even a single guardian, although there were tons of formations."

Handsome Fatty laughed, "Haha, not only did those fools lose a World Hegemon Grade treasure, they even lost the Realm Core. Truly mindless."

Davis chuckled, "It can’t be helped. They’re facing the Celestial Transcendent who looked like he was going to clean them up once and for all, or at the very least, overthrow them. It seems like he already had Madam Wesley in place to destabilize the Hexadra Clan’s connection to the Realm Core. As for the Hexadra Clan, they likely realized that after the Galaxy Wormhole collapses, they would be next since they likely wouldn’t be able to hide their crimes once the realm was thoroughly scoured and remodeled to fit the Desolate Era’s abysmal energy generation that supports only a few sanctuary cities where they will not be able to do anything but obey."

*Gasp~*

Handsome Fatty sucked in a cold breath, "So that’s why... Damn, the Supreme One is downright frightening..."

"He is..." Davis sighed, "Who knows how many opponents and Divergents he drove to despair..."

His gaze then fell on Handsome Fatty’s worried expression before saying, "Don’t worry. The Celestial Transcendent is a man of his words, but is not rigid. I’m not either. Neither of us will go too far unless our bottomline have been crossed. Your family is in safe hands. I will tell my little sister to look after them if I have the chance."

Handsome Fatty gazed at Davis with a complex expression before nodding solemnly, but then quickly said in a hushed tone.

"Don’t send your children to the Galaxy Battlefields. They’ll quickly be sent to the frontlines and ground to dust. Some commanders even collude with the enemy commanders to get by. It won’t be like a race betrayal, but like- ’I’ll send a squad to their death, you give me your captain’s head’ kind of collusion. It’s an unwritten rule."

Davis rolled his eyes, "They can forget about forcefully conscripting my family members as long as I’m alive. If they want to scheme, I’ll play them to death. Besides, my children aren’t foolish. In fact, they’re suppressing themselves from scheming against their siblings because of the stringent Laws and Enigmatic Heart Laws. They know they would be screwed if I or the others checked them. Putting them in this place and giving them ample protection is like giving them wings. I only need my family’s Realm Master to become a layer limit expert, and the rest will be taken care of by me and the others. After that, there is nothing that would be able to stop us."

"..."

The Handsome Fatty turned dumbfounded before he laughed out loud, "Pffft, hahaha! Good! Wonderful!"

Davis made the flying boat ferry them forward as they set their destination to the next location in the northern lands of the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm. Instead of snow, darkness shrouded the landed with a downcast sun and a cloudy atmosphere. However, due to the purple-white clouds, it was quite vivid and bright.

They flickered across the spatial gates using the Temporal Voidplane Ring.

Davis stood on the deck as he looked at the passing mountains and rivers. Beside him stood Illumina, whom he flirted with.

She squirmed and hushed him, shy that another man was on the flying boat while the said man peeked through the web of his fingers even though he acted like he wasn’t looking, even muttering something along the lines of ’man and a beast, yin and yang, mixing culture, raising deadly rabbits’. This only made Illumina more shy, causing Davis to rage at the fatty who incessantly laughed at him.

Davis eventually knew he must strike the iron elsewhere. He extended his hands outside the railing and blinked with a bit of disbelief, suddenly realizing that he didn’t need to use his Enigmatic Heart Laws and Life Laws in tandem to absorb the heaven and earth energy as it entered him freely without abhorring him.

He brought his hand back and placed it over his chin, appearing contemplative.

’Since the universe accepted me, does this mean I’m an exception even if I’m an Anarchic Divergent...?’
