Divine Level Witch Doctor
Chapter 409 - 409: Prescription Science TextbookThe more Zhao Yuan thought about it, the more excited he became, and he immediately started searching through the *Spirit Medicine Atlas*.
He was already a speed reader, and this time he was searching for something, not studying. He didn't need to memorize anything, just glance at the sections on efficacy. As a result, he read very quickly, getting through more than a quarter of the book in no time.
The results were disappointing. Although the medicinal herbs recorded in the *Spirit Medicine Atlas* had effects that grew more peculiar with each entry, none of them could instantly grant a hundred years of Cultivation after being consumed.
'How pathetic!' Zhao Yuan sighed and stopped reading. Even though there was still more than half of the *Spirit Medicine Atlas* left, he had already abandoned his unrealistic fantasy.
'It makes sense, though. If there really was a Spiritual Medicine that could let someone's Cultivation advance by leaps and bounds, breaking through several realms overnight and leading directly to Ascension to Immortality, then why the hell would anyone bother refining Pills or cultivating the Dao?'
Shaking his head, Zhao Yuan exited the *Spirit Medicine Atlas* and opened *Prescription Science*.
A quick glance revealed that the formulas within were not unusual; they included both common and uncommon ones. There were a great many, and every formula was explained in meticulous detail—from composition and efficacy to contraindications. This approach ensured that a student could gain a clear and thorough understanding, rather than just relying on muddle-headed rote memorization. It prevented a situation where a practitioner, when prescribing for a patient, could only parrot what the book said, unable to freely make adjustments based on the actual circumstances.
Without a doubt, the *Prescription Science* textbook from the Information Leaf continued its consistent streak of excellence.
But Zhao Yuan didn't plan to start studying *Prescription Science* immediately. He still hadn't finished *Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis* and *Acupuncture Theory and Practice Part 1: Theoretical Foundation*. He decided to first focus his time on completing these two subjects, which he was already most of the way through, before beginning his studies of *Prescription Science*.
There wasn't much to do that morning. After meeting Lin Xue at her rented apartment to teach her the Four Saints Technique, Zhao Yuan holed up in his dorm and didn't go anywhere.
Yesterday, after her first time practicing the Four Saints Technique, Lin Xue had been sore and exhausted. Today, however, she had not only completely recovered but could also clearly feel the many benefits it brought. As a result, she became even more attentive and serious about her Cultivation.
After supervising Lin Xue's Cultivation session, Zhao Yuan returned to his dorm and dragged a chair out onto the balcony. He lit a stick of Soul-Stabilizing Incense, propped his feet up on the railing, and leaned back comfortably. While contentedly enjoying the rare winter sun, he activated his Concentration Technique and began studying *Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis*.
Of course, to any onlookers, it simply looked like he was sunbathing and taking a nap. His behavior didn't attract much attention. In the last few days before the holiday break, with no classes to attend, pretty much everyone was lazing around in a similar fashion.
In the afternoon, Zhao Yuan received a call from Ying Ji. She told him that her ancestor was also completely clueless about the Fire Spirit Insect.
Zhao Yuan could only accept this reality and let the Fire Spirit Insect continue to play with the White Cat.
A little while later, he received another call, this time from Fang Yi. He reported that he had sorted out the designer and the construction team. The driving school was also taken care of. However, since Zhao Yuan was going home for the holidays tomorrow, Fang Yi had arranged for them to start his one-on-one lessons as soon as West Hua Medical University reopened next year. The sooner Zhao Yuan could get his driver's license, the better.
Finally, Fang Yi said, "I've scheduled a meeting for you at three o'clock at a place outside your university called Flower Room Cafe to meet the designer. I'll be there too. This designer is amazing—they've won a ton of awards. I'm sure you'll be satisfied!"
"Three in the afternoon?" Zhao Yuan asked.
Fang Yi shot back, "Obviously. Did you think I meant three in the morning?"
Zhao Yuan was speechless. "Damn it, it's already two-fifty! Couldn't you have given me a little more notice?"
"I was busy with other stuff and it slipped my mind, alright?" Fang Yi said sheepishly. "The designer just called to say they were almost there, and that's what reminded me. But don't worry, I'm already on my way and will be there soon."
Zhao Yuan flipped off his phone and hung up. He quickly tidied himself up, said a few words to his roommate, and left the dorm, heading for the Flower Room Cafe.
The coffee shop was filled with flowers and books, giving it both a fresh, artsy vibe and an intellectual flair. This made it quite popular among the University City students. Whether they were on a date or just trying to look sophisticated, everyone loved to flock here.
Zhao Yuan went inside, found a seat, and had only been waiting a few minutes when he saw Fang Yi run in, out of breath.
"Over here." Zhao Yuan stood up and waved him over.
Fang Yi rushed over. He paused when he saw the attractive woman at the next table, dressed in a professional suit with black stockings and high heels. Then he broke into a grin and said, "My bad. I forgot to send you two pictures of each other beforehand."
He waved the woman over. "Xiaoliu, come on over. This is Zhao Yuan, the one who needs your help designing his house." Then, turning to Zhao Yuan, he said, "This is Liu Xiaoya, the designer I found for you. She's an expert in traditional architecture and has won a ton of awards."
Zhao Yuan and Liu Xiaoya looked at each other and couldn't help but laugh.
After brief introductions and pleasantries, the two got straight to the point.
"Mr. Zhao, Mr. Fang told me you're planning to build a house in a traditional style?" Liu Xiaoya began, taking a notebook from her briefcase. "What is the approximate square footage? How many floors do you envision? How many bedrooms and living areas? And will you need a garden?"
Zhao Yuan was prepared. He took out a rough sketch and placed it on the table. "This is the mountain I've leased," he explained. "The dimensions and total area are written on the side. I want to build on all these circled areas. I don't need a garden; just design a series of two-story, antique-style buildings..."
He pointed to the sketch and laid out his various requirements.
Liu Xiaoya listened attentively, noting down each of Zhao Yuan's requests.
When he was done, Zhao Yuan asked, "About how long will the design take?"
Liu Xiaoya glanced at the notes in her notebook. "Actually," she replied, "I have a few existing designs that are a good fit for your needs, Mr. Zhao. If you'd like, you can take a look at them first."
Zhao Yuan nodded. "Alright, let's take a look."
Liu Xiaoya immediately opened her laptop and pulled up several design files. They were very thorough, complete with both renderings and detailed plans.
After looking them over, Zhao Yuan selected two designs. Liu Xiaoya would still need to make some minor adjustments based on his requirements, but it wouldn't take long. She confidently promised that she could deliver the final plans by the next day.
Having reached an agreement, they signed the design contract. Zhao Yuan immediately transferred the advance payment to Liu Xiaoya's account, saying, "Thank you for your help with this, Miss Liu."
"It's my pleasure," Liu Xiaoya replied with a smile. After a moment's hesitation, she couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Zhao, there's just one thing I don't understand."
