Divine Level Witch Doctor

Chapter 456 - 456: Creepy Bone Woman

After reveling in his success for a moment, Kawashima Haruhiro stared at the masked woman and said with a wicked smirk, "Lingzi, look how late it's getting. Shouldn't we be turning in for the night?"

"Alright, let's turn in." The masked woman lowered her head and smiled faintly, seeming a little shy. Her expression and reaction were all the more captivating.

He clearly didn't notice the strange glint that flashed in the masked woman's beautiful, seductive eyes.

The masked woman let out a laugh like tinkling bells. She simply raised a delicate, jade-like hand and touched Kawashima Haruhiro's forehead with a slender, pale fingertip.

A bizarre scene unfolded.

The moment the fingertip touched him, Kawashima Haruhiro froze in place, as if he'd been hypnotized or had his pressure points struck.

Upon closer inspection, one would see that not only was his body completely still, but even his eyes were glazed over in a daze.

The masked woman's smile vanished. She got up, walked over to her suitcase, and entered the code. With a CLICK, the suitcase opened, revealing a skeleton laid out inside.

Kawashima Haruhiro had seen this skeleton before but had never been suspicious. The masked woman had gotten to know him for the express purpose of learning medical arts from him. So he had always assumed the skeleton was just a tool she used to study the human skeletal system.

What Kawashima Haruhiro didn't know was that the masked woman had actually brought this skeleton with her to China, smuggling it past customs in both China and Japan. Clearly, either there was something special about the suitcase, or the masked woman had tampered with it in some way!

The masked woman traced a few patterns in the air with her hand, muttering a series of strange syllables. Then, she lightly tapped the skeleton and commanded, "Bone Woman, stop sleeping. It's your turn to take the stage."

Something eerie happened!

The skeleton in the suitcase actually began to move on its own!

It wasn't an inanimate object—it possessed life? No, that wasn't right. It would be more accurate to say that it was a Demon, formed from a resentful spirit that refused to dissipate and had gathered within the bones!

The Bone Woman climbed out of the suitcase, stretched its limbs, and then bowed deeply to the masked woman. Its jaw opened and closed, making a CLACK CLACK sound of bone hitting bone.

The Bone Woman had no tongue, so this was the only way it could "speak."

The masked woman had clearly undergone special training, as she understood the Bone Woman's words instantly. She nodded and replied, "That's right, same as always. Go on. Get it over with quickly. I'd like to get to sleep early tonight."

The Bone Woman bowed again, letting out a hair-raising CLACK that seemed to mean "As you command." It then turned toward Kawashima Haruhiro, who was still frozen on the sofa, and wrapped its dry, bony arms around him.

Meanwhile, the masked woman turned and entered the bedroom.

Kawashima Haruhiro was staying in a suite. This wasn't arranged by the Chinese Medical Exchange Forum, of course. He had paid extra to upgrade it himself after arriving. Originally, Kawashima Haruhiro had wanted to show off his wealth and impress his new girlfriend, but he never expected it would lead to this.

Inside the bedroom, the masked woman closed the door and removed her mask, revealing a face that was stunningly beautiful but utterly devoid of color—a pretty face as white as a sheet of paper.

She took out a facial mask, applied it to her face, then raised her hand and snapped her fingers.

SNAP.

The crisp sound traveled into the living room and reached Kawashima Haruhiro's ears.

Kawashima Haruhiro, who had been frozen in a trance, suddenly regained his senses and movement, as if a switch had been flipped.

He hugged the Bone Woman tightly, seemingly completely unaware that what he held in his arms was not some great beauty, but a fleshless skeleton.

It was a good thing no one else was in the room. If anyone had witnessed this scene, they wouldn't have been treated to a feast for the eyes; they would have been scared half to death.

Five minutes later, while Kawashima Haruhiro was showering in the bathroom, the Bone Woman knocked on the bedroom door.

The masked woman, still wearing the facial mask, sneered. Her gaze toward the bathroom was filled with contempt. "Alright, give me the thing."

The Bone Woman opened its mouth, and from its empty maw, a white Qi Pearl flew out.

The masked woman beckoned with her hand, and the Qi Pearl flew into her grasp. She pinched it between her fingers and swallowed it in one gulp.

This was Kawashima Haruhiro's Yang Qi, and also his Vitality.

He had no idea that he was embracing a "beauty in bone," nor did he know that his Yang Qi and Vitality were being devoured and absorbed time and time again. If this continued, it wouldn't be long before he was reduced to skin and bones, eventually dying from the complete depletion of his Yang Qi and Vitality.

The masked woman waved her hand dismissively and ordered, "I'm going to sleep. You go chain him. Don't let him come into the bedroom and disturb me." Her words were filled with disdain and contempt for Kawashima Haruhiro.

And that was indeed the case.

If not for certain ulterior motives, she couldn't have been bothered to feign civility with Kawashima Haruhiro. However, the regular, measured doses of Yang Qi and Vitality she consumed were enough to quell the disgust she felt in her heart.

After Kawashima Haruhiro finished washing up, he tried to pull the Bone Woman into the bedroom to sleep. However, he was chained by the Bone Woman, who insisted they spend the night in the living room. In the end, Kawashima Haruhiro agreed to his girlfriend's request and spent the night in the living room.

The next day was the official opening day of the Chinese Medical Exchange Forum. All the attendees were up bright and early, and Zhao Yuan was no exception.

While having breakfast in the hotel restaurant, he was led around by Ma Guotao, Yang Jingbo, and the others to be introduced to the experts and professors from other medical schools. However, what puzzled Zhao Yuan, Ma Guotao, and Yang Jingbo was that while these experts and professors were polite in their demeanor, their eyes held a hint of cold indifference.
