Chapter 554: Chapter 554: The Truth (4)

Aiden Avery set down his teacup, his tone equally grim. "Don’t hold back. We’ll all be your staunchest supporters!"

Archie Lockwood was overwhelmed by a storm of emotions. He didn’t know what words could possibly describe how he felt.

Ian Shaw was willing to help him because of Tristan Grayson, but he never expected Aiden Avery to offer his help as well. He and Aiden were practically strangers.

’But then again,’ he thought, ’it makes sense. The Avery and Grayson families are close, and Aiden Avery and Tristan Grayson grew up like brothers. As long as Tristan gives the word, his friends would naturally step in to help.’

When Archie Lockwood remained silent, Aiden Avery spoke again, his voice cold. "The Avery family, after all, carries some weight in Tridell. If we all really put our minds to taking down Jason Lockwood, it wouldn’t be an impossible task."

"Archie, just listen to them," Caleb Grayson urged when Archie Lockwood remained silent for a long while. "This really isn’t the time to be stubborn and try to handle things on your own."

Listening to Caleb Grayson’s words and looking at the people seated around him, Archie Lockwood finally nodded.

’With his current resources, it’s impossible to take down Jason Lockwood completely. He needs help.’

’If the incident with Rory and Master Lockwood hadn’t happened, this would be his personal vendetta—his business alone. He wouldn’t need anyone to interfere!’

’Especially not the Graysons. But now, he had no choice. He was terrified that today’s events would happen again. Therefore, Jason Lockwood had to fall, and fall so hard he could never get back up. If he could have his way, he’d wish for Jason Lockwood to be locked up for life!!!!’

Just then, Tristan Grayson looked at Caleb Grayson. "Dad, once Master Lockwood wakes up, I need you to take him to the police station."

"Right."

After leaving the hospital, Mika Summers went to bring her parents over to her place. The excuse she gave was that she was sick and needed them to help look after Kiki, but in reality, she was trying to protect them from being kidnapped.

At a critical time like this, she couldn’t afford to hold her brother back.

So, she didn’t leave the house and made sure her parents didn’t either. She had them on a twenty-four-hour watch, terrified that if she let her guard down for even a moment, they would slip out.

Meanwhile, things at the Lockwood residence weren’t much better.

When Jason Lockwood returned to the Lockwood residence, he saw maids bustling about, cleaning the house. A closer look at the floor revealed bloodstains—a lot of them.

"Jason, you’re finally back." Yuna Sullivan came down the stairs, clutching her clothes tightly. Her face was ashen, and her body was trembling.

Jason Lockwood shot a cold glance at the woman approaching him and asked icily, "Where is Master Lockwood? What did you find out?"

"That old bastard... no matter how I questioned him, he refused to say a word." At the mention of Master Lockwood, the panic vanished from Yuna Sullivan’s ashen face, replaced by a vicious glare.

Jason Lockwood’s lips curled into a sarcastic smile. "Over twenty years of companionship, and in the end, it still can’t hold a candle to a biological son." ’There was a time when he, too, respected and cared for Master Lockwood like a father. But the moment Archie Lockwood appeared, his own existence became a joke.’

"Isn’t that the truth? It’s infuriating just thinking about it. I mean, we’ve been in the Lockwood family for so many years, and that old bastard has never once shown us any real affection."
