Chapter 571: Chapter 569: What Happened?

"Ahem. What’s that supposed to mean? What’s wrong with being a celebrity? Uncle, you used to be one, too." Quincy Grayson retorted with a straight face, completely oblivious that he was digging his own grave.

Tristan Grayson’s handsome face darkened as he said unhappily, "The past is the past. This is now. You little brat, you’re making headlines every other day. How do you expect to ever find a wife?"

"If I could find a wife as beautiful as my aunt, I’d definitely follow your example and quit showbiz too, Uncle," Quincy Grayson teased, sauntering over to the desk and placing the contract on its surface.

Without waiting for Tristan Grayson or Mika Summers to react, he shoved his hands in his pockets and left the office.

Watching Quincy Grayson leave, Tristan Grayson was fuming. "That brat is getting more and more out of line."

"There’s nothing wrong with being a celebrity. You were one, too. If you weren’t a star, I might not have even looked twice at you." Mika Summers stood up, teasing him in a tone that mimicked Quincy Grayson’s, then grabbed her handbag and left the office.

Now, the only one left in the office was a fuming Tristan Grayson.

Mika Summers and Jasmine Warren had arranged to meet at a restaurant near Sovereign Pictures.

When she got there, Jasmine had already arrived.

Jasmine Warren had already ordered. She was holding a teacup, slowly sipping from it.

They hadn’t seen each other in years. Jasmine no longer had the crisp, short haircut she used to; now, her hair was shoulder-length and dyed a dazzling red.

Mika Summers spotted her the moment she entered the restaurant.

Perhaps it was simply because she was the most dazzling person in the restaurant. That must have been why Mika spotted her instantly.

Seeing her, Mika felt more than just excitement; she was stunned.

’Jasmine really is a great beauty.’

She had never seen this version of Jasmine before.

Clutching her handbag, she walked straight over and stopped in front of her. She pulled out the opposite chair and sat down.

Only after she was seated did Jasmine finally look up at her.

When Mika Summers saw Jasmine’s face head-on, she noticed her red-rimmed eyes, which looked like she had just been crying. A flicker of panic went through her, and she asked with concern, "Jasmine, what’s wrong?"

"You’re here." Jasmine seemed to deliberately ignore her question. She spoke flatly as she picked up the teapot, poured a cup of tea, and placed it in front of Mika.

"Jasmine, is something wrong?" She and Jasmine hadn’t been in contact for a long time. If Mika hadn’t thought of her before the wedding, she might have nearly forgotten she even had such a best friend.

But she believed that true friendship wasn’t about talking every day. ’A real best friend is someone who has your back, no matter what, when you’re in trouble!’

Jasmine Warren pushed down her emotions, looked up, and spoke in a voice thick with unshed tears. "There is something I need your help with, Mika. I don’t know who else I can turn to about this."

Hearing this, Mika grew tense. "Tell me. What is it you need help with? If there’s anything I can do, I’ll do it."

"You can definitely help me. And even if you can’t, you still have Tristan Grayson. Your Tristan Grayson can definitely help me."

Hearing Jasmine’s words, Mika’s brow furrowed slightly. "What is it? Tell me."
