Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 577 - 575: FramedChapter 577: Chapter 575: Framed
"I’m his girlfriend." Jasmine Warren was reluctant to answer, but she also couldn’t bring herself to tell this woman that she and Jason Lockwood weren’t really together. That’s right, she was being selfish. Even though she knew this woman probably had no connection to Jason, she still wanted to cling to the title of girlfriend.
The answer clearly took the woman by surprise. She furrowed her delicate brow, studying Jasmine Warren for a long moment before smiling and nodding. "Good. Now that Jason’s in trouble, it’s good that he still has a girlfriend who won’t leave his side."
The casual way the woman referred to Jason Lockwood irritated Jasmine Warren. Her expression turned cold. "If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going."
She didn’t like it when any woman brought up Jason Lockwood in front of her.
Especially beautiful ones. She didn’t like them. She really didn’t like them at all.
Perhaps it was her own lack of confidence that made her dislike beautiful women.
Jasmine Warren was well aware of the kind of woman she used to be. The only way she could explain Jason Lockwood having a relationship with her was that he must have been blind to want her as his mistress.
In her mind, kept mistresses were supposed to be women with long, flowing hair—petite, cute, and captivating.
But she didn’t fit any of those descriptions. Though she had been constantly trying to better herself recently, her personality was unchangeable. Her hair might be a little longer, her sense of style a little more refined, but she was still that same rough country girl. ’Tomboy’ was probably a more fitting label.
"No need to rush off," the woman said, quickly grabbing Jasmine Warren’s arm with a smile. "Since you’re Jason’s girlfriend, I have a duty to take good care of you for him."
"What do you want? Whether I’m Jason Lockwood’s girlfriend or not is none of your business, is it?" Jasmine Warren’s arm was still in the woman’s grasp, and her expression darkened, her tone sharp and confrontational.
The woman knew that trying to build rapport with Jasmine Warren was impossible; it was obvious Jasmine wanted nothing to do with her. So, she decided to get straight to the point. "I know who’s responsible for what happened to Jason Lockwood. Don’t you want to know?"
"You?"
"I’m only telling you this because you’re Jason’s girlfriend."
Hearing this, Jasmine Warren was so shocked that tears welled in her eyes. Her voice choked with emotion as she asked anxiously, "Are you really a good friend of Jason Lockwood’s?"
The woman nodded earnestly. "Yes, I am. My name is Aria Joyce. It’s a pleasure to meet you. What’s your name? Now that Jason’s... gone, I can take good care of you for him."
"My name is Jasmine Warren."
"Jasmine Warren. That’s a lovely name. In the future, if you’re ever alone and have free time, you can come and find me. I’m usually free anyway."
"Okay... thank you. But you just said you know who’s behind what happened to Jason? Is that really true?" A sudden sense of grievance washed over Jasmine Warren. She had only found out about Jason Lockwood’s accident on the news; she didn’t know any of the details at all.
Aria Joyce feigned a worried look, glancing around before lowering her voice to speak to Jasmine Warren. "This matter isn’t as simple as it appears on the surface. The truth is, Jason was framed."
"Framed?" At this, Jasmine Warren was even more astonished.
She had witnessed the kidnapping with her own eyes, so she had never before doubted the truth of the incident.
’And now this Aria Joyce was telling her he was framed?’
’So he’d been framed?’
