Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 639 - 631: The Heart is DeadChapter 639: Chapter 631: The Heart is Dead
In the end, Mika Summers signed the papers.
But her spirits sank to rock bottom.
Archie Lockwood left with his entourage, leaving only Tristan Grayson and Mika Summers in the private room.
Tristan Grayson’s handsome face darkened as he looked at Mika Summers’s devastated expression. He pulled her into a tight embrace and comforted her in a low voice, "Honey, this is actually a good thing. It shows your brother still had all of you in his heart. It’s precisely because he cared about you that he left the best of what he had behind."
"But he didn’t understand. My parents and I don’t want money. We just wanted him to live a happy life with all of us. That would have been enough."
"I know what you mean. We’ll transfer the assets Archie Lockwood gave you into your parents’ names. It’s not like we’re short on money. Starting today, let’s plan a full itinerary for them. We’ll fill up all three hundred and sixty-five days of the year with trips all around the world."
Mika Summers wiped her tears and nestled into Tristan Grayson’s arms, saying through her sobs, "Okay, I’ll do whatever you say. My parents have worked hard their whole lives. They deserve to enjoy themselves."

The moment he got off work, Cassian Jennings drove straight to the Avery residence to see Amelia Avery.
The atmosphere in the Avery home was more awkward and icy than ever before.
Cassian Jennings would have been able to take Amelia Avery out without a problem, but he hadn’t expected to run into Mr. and Mrs. Avery, who had just flown back from abroad.
As a result, they didn’t get to leave.
Cassian Jennings sat awkwardly on the sofa, not daring to let his eyes wander.
Amelia Avery, on the other hand, seemed unbothered. She lounged on the sofa, flipping through a magazine as if the current discussion had nothing to do with her.
Aiden Avery had already shot daggers at Amelia Avery with his eyes for the umpteenth time, but she remained completely oblivious.
"Cassian Jennings, you should understand that her mother and I do not approve of you dating Amelia." He had thought Amelia had finally wised up and found a boyfriend, but who knew it would be Cassian Jennings again.
Mr. Avery was already suppressing the urge to give Aiden Avery a thorough beating. ’So much for accurate intelligence,’ he thought.
"Mr. Avery, I’m truly serious about Amelia. I was a reckless fool before, but I swear, I’ll treat her right from now on."
Hearing this, Amelia Avery stiffened, and a complex emotion flickered in her eyes.
’I don’t think I’ve agreed to be with Cassian Jennings yet, have I?’
’From the looks of things, is this supposed to be a done deal?’
Selene Osborne snapped angrily at Cassian Jennings, "Cassian Jennings, the Avery Family is a prominent family. Amelia is the apple of our eye. No matter what, she cannot marry a divorced man."
Cassian Jennings’s expression turned grim, his hands clenched into tight fists.
’It’s true, I have been selfish.’
’Never mind that Amelia hasn’t even agreed to be with me. Even if she had, I wouldn’t be worthy of her.’
Unable to bear seeing his good friend attacked, Aiden Avery looked at Selene Osborne angrily. "Mom, that’s enough! What’s wrong with him being divorced? In this day and age, people are free to marry who they love. As long as Amelia wants this, you two shouldn’t interfere."
Amelia Avery noticed the shift in Cassian Jennings’s emotions. She set down her magazine, scooted a little closer to him, and placed her hand on his tightly clenched right fist.
The warmth of her small hand on his fist sent a jolt through him, and he turned to look at Amelia Avery in surprise.
Amelia Avery’s lips curved into a faint smile. Then, she addressed her parents, "My brother is right. As long as I’m willing, no one can object to who I marry. It doesn’t matter if he’s been divorced once or twice, or even if he’s an old man thirty years my senior. If I like him, nothing can stop me."
With that, she stood up, grabbed the stunned Cassian Jennings by the hand, and walked out.
It wasn’t until they had left the house and settled into the car that Cassian Jennings finally came to his senses.
He cautiously turned to look at Amelia, who was driving.
Perhaps feeling uncomfortable under his stare, Amelia Avery accelerated, the car practically flying down the road.
Half an hour later, the car pulled over on the side of the road.
Amelia Avery got out, slamming the car door shut behind her.
Seeing this, Cassian Jennings quickly followed her out of the car.
Amelia Avery crossed her arms and walked ahead, not stopping until she reached the edge of a lake. She gazed at the water, a faint smile on her lips.
When Cassian Jennings reached her side, Amelia Avery asked coolly, "Do you remember this place?"
"Yes, I remember." Cassian Jennings gazed at her affectionately, nodding with a smile.
Amelia Avery just smiled, her eyes on the lake as memories replayed endlessly in her mind.
But a trace of sorrow always lingered in her eyes.
Cassian Jennings looked at the woman beside him, at the sorrowful smile on her face, and felt a dull ache in his heart.
’What in the world can I do to make it up to her?’
’What in the world can I do to make her fall in love with me?’
And so, the two of them stood in silence, each lost in their own thoughts for a long, long time.
Suddenly, Amelia Avery turned around. She shyly tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, looked up at him, and asked with a sweet, silly grin, "Cassian, I like you. Can I be your girlfriend?"
It was the exact same scene as many years ago, the first time Amelia Avery had confessed her feelings to Cassian Jennings.
The only difference was, this time, he wouldn’t refuse.
He smiled knowingly but feigned utter shock. "What? You like me? You’ve got to be kidding!"
"I’m not kidding. I really like you, Cassian! I want to be your girlfriend! And from now on, you’re not allowed to flirt with any other women!"
"Oh, give me a break. I can’t agree to that," Cassian Jennings said with a wry smile, clasping his hands together pleadingly.
Amelia Avery’s eyes fell. Her hands clenched slightly, as if she were pondering something important.
Seeing her crestfallen expression, Cassian Jennings’s heart ached. He stepped forward and pulled her into a tight embrace, saying with a soft chuckle, "Silly girl, of course you can’t be my girlfriend. Because you’re going to be my wife. A man can have many girlfriends, but he can only have one wife. And I, Cassian Jennings, will only have you as my wife. You will be my one and only woman."
As she listened to his words, tears streamed down her cheeks.
He slowly released her, cupped her lovely face in his hands, and lowered his head to kiss her.
She no longer resisted, wrapping her arms around him and returning his passionate kiss.
Their tears trickled into their mouths—salty and bitter, just like the emotions in their hearts.
There was none of the happiness that should have come with getting each other back. There was only bitterness and heartache...
It was just as she had said: once a heart dies, there is truly no going back.
