As promised, Archie Lockwood had Tiana brought over promptly at seven in the evening.

Tiana Grayson had a gentle and sweet kind of beauty. Paired with her natural poise, a single glance was enough to tell she was the daughter of a prestigious family.

Tonight, she wore a rhinestone-studded, pink, floor-length gown and three-inch heels. Her golden, waist-length hair was done in a waterfall braid.

The banquet was full of beautiful women, but someone as refreshingly elegant and gently captivating as Tiana was a rarity.

Tiana walked to the private room the server had pointed out. When she pushed the door open and stepped inside, she saw Archie Lockwood chatting over tea with several unfamiliar men.

In an instant, all eyes were on her. One man’s gaze shifted knowingly between her face and Archie Lockwood’s. Blushing, Tiana was too embarrassed to meet Archie’s eyes. She said softly, "Um, it’s getting late. I’d like to head back now."

Hearing this, Archie Lockwood glanced down at his watch, his brow furrowing slightly with displeasure. He looked back up at Tiana, his gaze cool, and asked in a deep voice, "Is there something you need to get back for?"

"Er... no..." Tiana hadn’t expected him to ask that. She shook her head in response.

"If not, then wait another half hour. I’ll have someone send you home then."

"Oh, all right."

Seeing that Tiana didn’t seem very pleased, Archie Lockwood frowned in thought for a moment. "If you’re bored," he said, "I can have Howard Rhodes arrange a private room for you. You can go watch TV or just rest."

"There’s no need to trouble yourself. It’s only half an hour. I can wait," Tiana Grayson said, quickly declining his offer.

"Mm." Archie Lockwood’s expression remained unchanged as he gave a cool grunt of acknowledgment.

Inside the private room, the other men looked at Archie Lockwood’s stony face and began to tease him one after another.
