Chapter 646: Chapter 638: Only Each Other

Tiana Grayson felt a deafening roar in her head, and her heart constricted with pain.

She shook off Howard Rhodes’s arm and rushed into the crowd.

She pushed through the crowd, and when she saw the man slumped motionless over the steering wheel, her heart seized painfully once more.

Tears began to stream down her face. Her legs trembled so violently she couldn’t take a single step. With quivering lips, she choked out, "Leo!"

Her cry wasn’t loud. In fact, it was almost completely drowned out by the surrounding clamor.

But Leo Joyce, inside the car, heard it with perfect clarity. He stiffened, and his heart began to pound erratically.

When Leo Joyce didn’t react, Tiana Grayson was terrified. She had imagined their reunion countless times, but never once did she picture it happening at the scene of his car accident.

She clutched her dress, fighting to keep from collapsing. "Leo, are you okay?"

Her first cry of his name felt like something from a dream, but this question made Leo Joyce realize that someone was truly calling out to him.

And that person was the very woman he had spent five years thinking about and searching for.

He lifted his head from the steering wheel and immediately saw her—the most radiant princess in the crowd.

’That’s right, she was a princess. *His* little princess, who belonged to him and him alone.’

’She was always so beautiful, so captivating.’

’She looked exactly as he remembered, perhaps even more beautiful.’

Outside, when Tiana Grayson saw Leo Joyce lift his head, the tight knot in her chest finally loosened, if only slightly.

She raised the corners of her mouth into a small smile for Leo, but her tears only fell harder.

’She should have been happy that Leo was okay. She really should have been. But she just couldn’t control herself. Maybe it was because she had missed him so much after all this time. Or maybe it was because she’d been wanting to cry for years, and now that the tears had started, there was no stopping them.’

"Silly girl... you foolish woman. I’ve finally found you!" Leo Joyce’s eyes grew red as well. He gripped the steering wheel tightly, the corners of his mouth curving into a smile as he spoke in a low voice.

The onlookers now took notice of the man in the car and Tiana Grayson.

As arranged by Archie Lockwood, Howard Rhodes was already handling the accident details in Leo Joyce’s stead.

Meanwhile, the police began to disperse the crowd. The road was cleared, and traffic started to flow again.

Leo Joyce and Tiana Grayson remained locked in place—he, sitting in his car; she, standing on the road. They simply stared at each other. It was as if their surroundings had faded into nothing, as if they were the only two people left in the world. Their eyes saw only each other, and nothing else could penetrate their gaze.

An unknown amount of time passed—perhaps ten minutes, perhaps twelve or thirteen. Finally, Leo Joyce got out of the car.

He strode toward Tiana Grayson. It was only when he reached her side that he noticed the cool tracks on his own face.

Tears...

"Are you okay?" When Leo Joyce didn’t answer, Tiana forced a smile, struggling to stay on her feet.

He had so many things he wanted to say—so, so many. But now that he was truly here with Tiana, he couldn’t utter a single one. He opened his mouth, but in the end, all that came out were two whispered words: "I’m fine."

"As long as you’re okay, that’s all that matters." The smile on Tiana Grayson’s face slowly faded. "Since you’re fine, I should be heading back now." Her voice carried a trace of disappointment.
