Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 676 - 668: HusbandChapter 676: Chapter 668: Husband
Before long, he was the only one left in the once-crowded living room. He took in the heavy stench of smoke and alcohol, his eyes landing on the girl group still singing and dancing on the screen. A bitter smile touched his lips. ’When did I, Leo Joyce, become so pathetic?’
’He just couldn’t give up on Tiana.’
But when he heard that Tiana had shown no reaction at all to seeing him with Amelia, his heart had seized with a fear and panic so overwhelming he didn’t know what to do.
’After all, indifference is the only reason someone wouldn’t react to seeing the person they care about with someone else.’
He was a perfect example. He was well aware of the relationship between Quincy Grayson and Tiana, but he couldn’t help but envy it. He was consumed with jealousy whenever he saw the countless ways Quincy doted on her.
He stood by the window, gazing at the cityscape for a long time before returning to the bedroom. After a quick shower and a change of clean clothes, he grabbed his phone and keys from the nightstand and left.
Outside the suite was a long corridor.
Just as he was about to reach the elevators, the door to a suite behind him and to his right swung open, and a sweet, girlish voice rang out, "Husband!!!"
Surprise flashed in his eyes at the sound. Before he could even turn around, a small, soft body pressed against his back.
"Rory!" Archie Lockwood came over and forcefully pulled the little girl off of Leo Joyce.
Leo Joyce breathed a sigh of relief when he felt the small figure leave his back. He turned to face the father-daughter pair. "What are you two doing here?" he asked, looking at Archie and Shirley Lockwood.
"Husband, aren’t you happy to see me?" Shirley Lockwood demanded petulantly, wrenching her arm free from Archie Lockwood’s grasp. She crossed her arms, tilted her little head back, and pouted.
Leo Joyce’s expression darkened as he looked at the little one. He corrected her again, his tone serious and firm. "Rory, how many times have I told you? Don’t call me ’Husband.’ You’re supposed to call me Leo."
"I don’t want to! Besides, I’m going to marry you when I grow up anyway, so calling you ’Husband’ now is just good practice."
Leo Joyce had been trying to correct her for two years, to no avail. In fact, it seemed the father-daughter duo was getting a real kick out of it. "Archie Lockwood, she’s your daughter! You deal with her!"
"Well, I certainly wouldn’t object to getting a grown son out of the deal for free," Archie Lockwood teased, a grin playing on his lips.
"You’re ruthless, Archie Lockwood!" Leo Joyce bit out before turning and stalking into the elevator.
Seeing her chance, Shirley Lockwood scampered into the elevator after him. She tugged on his sleeve with her small hand, tilting her head back to ask with a smile, "Husband, where are we going to play now?"
"Play? We’re not going to ’play’ anywhere. A little girl like you shouldn’t be in a place like this." He knew better than anyone what kind of place Siren’s Night was.
’I can’t believe Archie actually had the nerve to bring his daughter to a place like this.’
Shirley Lockwood was angry at Leo Joyce’s words, but she didn’t let it show. Instead, she narrowed her eyes, crossed her arms, and began to reason with him. "Husband, my dad told me this is your turf. Since it’s my husband’s turf, that means it’s my turf too. So, why can’t I be here?"
