Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 685 - 677: Why Are You Crying?Chapter 685: Chapter 677: Why Are You Crying?
Infuriated by Tiana Grayson’s words, Leo Joyce strode forward and gripped her shoulders tightly, roaring, "What do you mean we have no relationship? Tiana Grayson, you are my woman!"
"Heh... Are you talking about that night?"
Leo Joyce stiffened. ’That night?’
Tiana Grayson struggled out of his grip and said with a self-deprecating smile, "Leo Joyce, we’re both adults, and it wasn’t the first time for either of us. So, don’t worry about it. Let’s just chalk it up to a nightmare."
A violent chill ran through Leo Joyce. "A... a nightmare?" he asked, his voice trembling with anxiety and panic.
Tiana Grayson turned back to him and continued flatly, "Yes. What else would it be but a nightmare? You didn’t think it was some kind of sweet dream, did you?"
Leo Joyce took a step back, a sarcastic smirk on his lips. "So sleeping with me was a nightmare for you?"
’If only it really were a nightmare. But the tragedy was, it was the best dream she’d ever had. Only when they were together like that did she feel like he truly, deeply loved her.’
Right then, she lacked the courage to answer him. So she chose to flee. Clenching her fists, she began to walk quickly away.
Watching Tiana flee in a panic, Leo Joyce felt his heart clench painfully. For the first time in his life, he felt so powerless, so utterly exhausted by it all.
’He didn’t know what to do. What was he supposed to do now that she didn’t love him?’
For the past five years, even though she had vanished, he had always held on to a sliver of hope—the hope that he would one day find her and bring her back.
But now she was really back, and he was completely at a loss. It felt as if even that last sliver of hope had been smashed to smithereens.
As Tiana Grayson ran out of the food street, she saw Archie Lockwood leaning against his car, smoking.
Seeing Tiana, Archie Lockwood glanced behind her. When he didn’t see Leo Joyce, his brow furrowed. "Tiana, why are you back by yourself? Where’s Leo?"
"He’s behind me," Tiana Grayson said quickly, her eyes panicked.
"Okay. Are you two all right?"
"We’re fine."
Seeing Tiana’s troubled expression, Archie Lockwood frowned and said coolly, "Get in the car. I’ll go find Leo."
"Okay." Tiana Grayson gave a quiet response, opened the passenger-side door, and slid inside.
She sat in her seat, head bowed, sobbing quietly.
When Shirley Lockwood saw Tiana start crying after getting into the car, her delicate brow furrowed. She sat up a little, holding out her last skewer of fried snacks toward Tiana Grayson. "Pretty lady, why are you crying?" she asked with concern.
Tiana Grayson thought she was being quiet, but she was surprised that the little girl, Rory, had heard her. With red-rimmed eyes, she hastily forced a smile. "I-I’m okay. You eat it, Rory. I’m not hungry."
A little foodie at heart, Shirley Lockwood didn’t hesitate. She pulled the skewer back, took a huge bite, and said through her food, "Was it Leo? Did he bully you? Don’t you worry, pretty lady. If Leo bullied you, I’ll tell my dad to beat him up for you!"
"No, that’s not it. Leo didn’t bully me. I was just... thinking about some unhappy things. Rory, you have to promise me you’ll keep a secret. Don’t tell anyone I was crying."
