Dominator Emperor
Chapter 233 - 231: Fighting for the Netherworld Ship (Part 1)At this moment, both the living and the dead were fighting for the Netherworld Ships. As the war reached a fever pitch, more and more people met a tragic end in the Nether River; not even Earth Corpse Treasure Masters were exempt.
During the great battle on the Nether River, many experts, Earth Corpses, and even Treasure Lords fell in. The Nether River was exceedingly bizarre; not everyone could be like Li Qiye, using green hair to take root within it. Once some experts fell into the Nether River, they could never get out again, drifting downstream with the Nether River Water and disappearing into the dense layers of mist.
In this regard, the Earth Corpses had a great advantage. It was as if they were specially favored by the Ancient Sky Corpse Land. It was far easier for them to climb out of the Nether River than it was for Cultivators and Treasure Lords. They were already dead, after all, and thus had a greater affinity with the Nether River!
There was also a Defying Heaven, unparalleled Treasure Lord, a true Master of Heaven and Earth, who seized a Netherworld Ship from the river with an invincible air. However, the moment the Netherworld Ship left the Nether River, it shrank to the size of a palm. It was just a piece of rotten wood! What ship was this! Furthermore, as soon as this piece of wood left the water, it began to weather. When a gust of wind from the river blew past, the wood disintegrated into dust and scattered back into the Nether River.
This scene left everyone utterly astounded. The Old Undyings, the Treasure Lords, and even the invincible Earth Immortals were all pondering the same question: ’What exactly *are* the Netherworld Ships?’
Tens of thousands of Netherworld Ships drifted along the vast Nether River. In the end, it was the Earth Corpses who boarded the most. Here, they were numerous and powerful. They were even unaffected by the Nether River Water. Being dead, they possessed an advantage that Cultivators and Treasure Lords couldn’t hope to match.
The Great Teaching Territories that had come bearing their dead likely suffered the most catastrophic losses. Countless Sect Inheritances had arrived carrying Ancient Coffins. However, the Old Undyings sealed within weren’t necessarily truly dead. In fact, many of them were just clinging to their last breath. These Old Undyings were Defying Heaven and invincible. The moment they decided to board a ship, their all-or-nothing strike would slay gods and cleave demons.
Quite a few Great Teaching Territories did bring the truly dead. These were their ancestors, once invincible in their own eras. They hoped to send their deceased ancestors onto a Netherworld Ship, praying for their resurrection and return so they could once again create an age of supreme glory.
Sending one of the truly dead onto a Netherworld Ship was even more difficult. It required many powerful experts from the sect to clear a path and carry the Ancient Coffin aboard a ship. Very few Great Teaching Territories succeeded. Unless the Great Teaching Territory was exceptionally powerful itself, sending the dead onto a Netherworld Ship was more difficult than ascending to the heavens! Thus, in the midst of this great battle, an unknown number of experts from the Great Teaching Territories perished, their final resting place the Nether River.
As waves of thunderous attacks echoed, endless Cultivation Techniques soared into the sky, and Law Divine Chains clanged. One after another, powerful treasures and Exotic Weapons emerged, and legendary figures long thought dead climbed out of their Ancient Coffins, causing the many powerful Cultivators watching from the shore to gasp in astonishment.
"The Seven-Star Heavenly King, the Stone Clan War God, the Long River Demon Emperor, the True Flood Dragon Evil Saint, the Hundred Poison Saint Monarch..." Watching these Old Undyings crawl out from their Ancient Coffins one by one left many people in a stupor. The Old Turtle King from Feijiao Lake was exceptionally knowledgeable, but even his face turned pale seeing these old monsters—long rumored to have died millions of years ago—climb out of their coffins today. In their own eras, these figures were all part of the Invincible Generation!
The Old Undyings climbing from their coffins today included many who had been rumored to be dead for ages, yet here they were, emerging alive.
Since time immemorial, across the Nine Realms and Eight Desolations, perhaps no one truly knew just how many Old Undyings had been sealed away. No one knew how many had used Time Blood Stones to seal their vitality and suspend their lifespan.
For these Old Undyings who were once invincible in their era, some were sealed away, clinging to a thread of life in order to shelter their descendants and guard their Sect Inheritance. Others buried themselves within Time Blood Stones simply because they were unwilling to die, hoping to live on forever!
As the Netherworld Ships drifted out from the mists of the Nether River, Li Qiye’s eyes were locked onto them. His gaze grew incredibly bright, like a pair of Divine Torches, scrutinizing every last detail of each ship.
In all the world, aside from the Underworld itself, no one knew the Netherworld Ships better than he did. He had lived from the Desolate Era to the present, a Yin Ya who had drifted through millions of years. He had lost count of how many times he had watched the Netherworld Ships appear. He had studied the ships of every era. He had even once used a heaven-slaying, immortal-startling treasure to collect quite a few of them, sealing them away to be studied like collectibles!
He held a heaven-shaking secret in his heart: he knew which Netherworld Ships could extend one’s life, and which were merely death traps! This was the greatest discovery Li Qiye had made after countless years of research and collecting numerous Netherworld Ships.
"Which Netherworld Ship?" In contrast to Li Qiye’s composure, an Elder from the War God Hall was growing impatient. Seeing people board the ships one after another as they drifted away into the mists downstream, he couldn’t help but press Li Qiye for an answer.
"Don’t bother me. You want to get on a death ship?" Li Qiye snapped, his eyes still fixed on the Netherworld Ships.
Hearing this, the Elder from the War God Hall had no choice but to shut his mouth, despite his displeasure. This voyage on a Netherworld Ship was incredibly important to them; they had to choose the right one!
"You—choose that one!" Li Qiye suddenly shouted to the Middle Continent Princess, pointing at a Netherworld Ship drifting on the Nether River.
At that moment, over a thousand Netherworld Ships were drifting on the Nether River, and basically every single one looked identical. The ship Li Qiye pointed to was no different from any of the others! No one could see anything special about it at all.
The Middle Continent Princess said nothing, only looking at Li Qiye. He immediately barked, "Hurry up and get on! It’ll be too late if someone else takes it!"
At this, even the Elder Ancestors of the War God Hall were tempted. So many Netherworld Ships had floated past, yet Li Qiye had chosen this specific one; there had to be a reason. However, they had made a promise, so even though they were tempted, the War God Hall’s Elder Ancestors didn’t dare try to seize the ship.
However, the Middle Continent Princess remained standing there, her gaze still fixed coldly on Li Qiye.
"There’s no time! Get on!" Li Qiye roared at the Middle Continent Princess. In that instant, he seemed like a different person, his Divine Power overwhelming, tolerating no dissent. Yet, the Middle Continent Princess appeared unmoved.
Li Qiye became utterly exasperated and roared, "Would I lie to you in this life? Now get your ass up there!" By now, many others were already fighting over that same Netherworld Ship. How could Li Qiye not be frantic with anxiety?
In that instant, the Middle Continent Princess moved, stepping toward the Netherworld Ship. BOOM! A deafening explosion. Everyone fighting for the ship was instantly blown apart. Whether they were Old Undyings who had once been invincible, Treasure Lords who had once commanded the storms of their era, or the fearless Earth Corpses—in that moment, anyone near the Netherworld Ship was annihilated, not even a trace of bone remained.
The Middle Continent Princess was so formidable, so Defying Heaven, that everyone drew a sharp, cold breath. Even the Elder Ancestors of the War God Hall were no exception. A chill went through their hearts. ’This woman is far too powerful.’
"What is her background?" a Demon King murmured, seeing the Middle Continent Princess’s Defying Heaven power.
At this moment, another person made a move—the last Sect Leader of the Thousand Emperors Sect! He moved in an instant, lunging for the Middle Continent Princess’s Netherworld Ship. Compared to the other Treasure Lords and Earth Immortals, the Thousand Emperors Sect’s last Sect Leader was clearly much more collected. He had been watching the ships intently the entire time. Now that the Middle Continent Princess had boarded this particular one, he decided to try and seize it for himself.
VMMMM— In that instant, the Middle Continent Princess’s eyes snapped open, shooting out two beams of blood-red light. In a flash, the beams transformed into two supreme Divine Spears. The spears were hurled through the air, their power seemingly enough to pierce the heavens and earth and slay the very gods. The cold glint from the spears sent a chill through everyone’s heart. ’What terrifying Divine Spears!’
Seeing the Divine Spears hurtling toward him, the expression of the Thousand Emperors Sect’s last Sect Leader changed drastically. He immediately retreated, returning to his original position in an instant.
PFFT! The Divine Spears struck the Void, which instantly collapsed into a black hole. Time and space were shattered by the impact. At that single point, they were reduced to utter nothingness. If a Cultivator were struck by such an attack, even an invincible Old Undying would be instantly annihilated, without even the chance to be reduced to ash.
Seeing this, everyone once again drew a sharp, cold breath. This woman was too terrifying. To be able to obliterate even time and space... she was a monstrous existence!
After retreating to his original position, the last Sect Leader of the Thousand Emperors Sect did not make another move. He gave up on seizing the Netherworld Ship. Without a doubt, he was deeply wary of the Middle Continent Princess.
At this, the Elders of the War God Hall were all visibly stirred. Although the Thousand Emperors Sect was ultimately destroyed at the hands of Celestial Empress Hongtian, its power was once unimaginable. The sect’s last Sect Leader was definitely a Defying Heaven figure, one of the Unparalleled Generation, yet he was still so wary of the Middle Continent Princess!
After boarding the Netherworld Ship, the Middle Continent Princess stood at its bow, not immediately entering the cabin. She stood there, her eyes open, a blood-red light flickering within their depths as she continued to gaze at Li Qiye from afar.
Watching the Middle Continent Princess from afar, Li Qiye sighed softly in his heart. Finally, he called out, "As long as the heavens and earth remain, the day will come when we meet again!"
The Middle Continent Princess watched Li Qiye for a moment longer before finally turning and walking into the cabin. The Netherworld Ship then drifted away, disappearing downstream.
Both Li Shuangyan and Chen Baojiao found this strange. ’It seems their Young Master knows this Middle Continent Princess,’ they thought.
