Dominator Emperor

Chapter 316 - 314: Forced Marriage

"That kid stole the Young Master’s thunder." A voice suddenly spoke next to Li Qiye’s ear. At some point, a dark-skinned youth had appeared beside him. One glance was all it took for Li Qiye to identify him as Sikong Toutian.

"What’s the big deal about the spotlight?" Li Qiye said with an unconcerned smile. "If someone likes it, they can have it. I, on the other hand, prefer killing." He licked his lips as he finished.

At this, Sikong Toutian instinctively shivered. He had weathered many storms and had even infiltrated the Ancestral Lands of Great Teaching Territories. Very few things could truly frighten him. But when Li Qiye licked his lips, a chill ran down his spine. In that instant, he had a vision of rivers of blood and mountains of corpses. Li Qiye was like a bloodthirsty Demon, gazing upon the carnage and licking his lips as if he still hadn’t had his fill. The sight made Sikong Toutian’s blood run cold; he could almost smell the stench of blood in the air.

By now, Ancestor Emperor Wu and his group were speechless. Things had progressed to a point where it was impossible for the behemoths backing them to exclude everyone else. For powers like the Yao Guang Ancient Country, the ideal scenario would have been to clear the field first, giving them a free hand to operate.

But now, their hopes of excluding everyone else and getting rid of those who coveted a share of the portal were dashed.

In the end, the so-called conference fizzled out. The plan by the Great Teaching Territories, led by Ancestor Emperor Wu, to control the entire process had been wishful thinking that came to nothing. The meeting devolved into a farce, and ultimately, no consensus was reached on anything.

"What a shame." As he left the venue, Li Qiye couldn’t help but sigh in regret. Mei Suyao and Ji Kong Wudi’s interference had ruined his fun. He hadn’t attended this meeting for the sake of establishing order, that was for sure.

He had been looking for a spark to light the fuse, an excuse to start a massacre and see if those Old Undyings hiding in the shadows could maintain their composure.

"A shame about what?" As Li Qiye was leaving, Bing Yuxia shot him a sidelong glance and followed.

Li Qiye smiled leisurely. "Oh, nothing. I just wanted to stain my hands with a little blood to pluck a rose. I wanted to make the sky ripple with a river of gore to dye the earth red. A pity such a fine show was ruined."

The way Li Qiye turned such a gory affair into something almost poetic earned him a roll of the eyes from Bing Yuxia.

"What are you planning?" Once they returned, Bing Yuxia stared at Li Qiye as if trying to see right through him.

Li Qiye shot her a look. "Nothing much. Just kill some people, handle some business, and fish for some treasures. It’s that simple. What else is there to do? Isn’t that what everyone is doing? With all these cultivators gathered here, their goals are more or less the same."

"I have no interest in all this fighting and killing." With a SWISH, Bing Yuxia opened her folding fan and said nonchalantly, "Come find me when the portal opens. You can have all the fighting and killing to yourself. I’m off to have some fun with the ladies."

Li Qiye glared at her. "You’re a girl. You should act like one instead of having a girl on each arm all day."

"What’s it to you!" Bing Yuxia shot back, glaring. "I’ll do as I please. I don’t need you telling me what to do. You can save your concern for someone who needs it, mister."

SMACK! Li Qiye slapped her on the rear. Bing Yuxia yelped and jumped away, warning him with a fierce expression, "Little Ghost, you dare take advantage of me again and I’ll chop off your hands!"

Li Qiye casually patted his hand. "Babe, if you were a man, I wouldn’t have even bothered. Just be a good girl."

His words made Bing Yuxia grind her teeth in frustration. With a final, cold huff, she turned on her heel and stormed off, wanting nothing more to do with him.

Although the conference had been a failure, with nothing resolved, none of the groups who had entered the Celestial Dao Academy were willing to leave. Whether they were from Great Teaching Territories or were Small Sect Loose Cultivators, everyone understood that it was in their best interest to remain. In fact, the major powers were doing everything they could to bring their vast armies into the academy grounds.

This development, of course, put immense pressure on the Small Sect Loose Cultivators. The massive armies of the Great Teaching Territories were a direct threat to them.

However, the Celestial Dao Academy, acting as the host, simply turned a blind eye to the situation. They were completely washing their hands of the matter, refusing to get involved in any way.

The academy’s attitude made many people realize that it could barely protect itself. A great calamity was upon it, and it had its hands full just trying to cope. How could it possibly have the energy to manage these external affairs?

Especially since within the academy grounds, the planar instability was growing more violent by the day. Everyone understood that the Celestial Dao Academy was truly on the brink of disaster.

This thought made countless people’s eyes burn with greed. If the Celestial Dao Academy truly collapsed, its vast treasury would become ownerless. One could only imagine the astonishing collection of Immortal Treasures and Divine Artifacts accumulated over millions of years! At this thought, an unknown number of people began to stir restlessly. Some even started to secretly probe the academy’s Ancestral Land, attempting to infiltrate its deepest sanctums.

The Lion Roar Sect didn’t withdraw either. They had originally come to support the Celestial Dao Academy, but now they decided to wait and see how this storm would unfold.

However, the very next day, while Li Qiye was in his room meditating on his Cultivation Technique, Chi Xiaodao burst in. The moment he saw Li Qiye, his face lit up as if he’d found his savior. "Brother Li," he cried out anxiously, "something terrible has happened! You have to save my sister!"

"What is it?" Li Qiye stood up, frowning. From what he remembered, Chi Xiaodie wasn’t the type to stir up trouble.

"The Nu Xian Sacred Country has come to force the marriage!" Chi Xiaodao was seething. His face was flushed red, so angry he looked like he wanted to charge out and kill them all. But he knew he was no match for them.

"Forced marriage?" Li Qiye’s frown deepened. "What? Is the Nu Xian Sacred Country that shameless? Your sister already made it clear she won’t marry Sima Longyun. Are they really planning to take her by force?"

"That’s exactly it! The Eldest Prince of the Nu Xian Sacred Country, Ba Xia, brought a large group of people. They’re pressuring my father, demanding my sister marry that animal, Sima Longyun!" Chi Xiaodao said furiously.

Li Qiye rubbed his chin. "For a Jiang Country to be this shameless... that’s not easy. It takes a special kind of talent."

"Heh heh, it’s not surprising at all." Sikong Toutian materialized at the door, a wide grin on his face.

Sikong Toutian came inside, still grinning. "I happened to overhear some interesting gossip. Sima Longyun would be overjoyed to marry Miss Chi, of course. But for the Nu Xian Sacred Country, marrying her is just a bonus. Their true target is your Chi Family’s Immortal Body Technique, as well as the ’Divine Eye Thousand Soldiers Path’ that Miss Chi has been cultivating recently..."

"...Heh, both your Chi Family’s Immortal Body Technique and Miss Chi’s ’Divine Eye Thousand Soldiers Path’ are Supreme Ultimate Skills on par with an Emperor Technique. If they marry Miss Chi, they get both techniques in one go. It’s such a bargain that no matter how precious the betrothal gifts are, it would still be more than worth it!"

Hearing this, Chi Xiaodao’s expression turned utterly grim. He said through clenched teeth, "The Chi Family will never let those animals get their way!"

"I heard another little tidbit recently," Sikong Toutian said with a sly smile. "Heh, the Nu Xian Sacred Country’s Overlord Immortal Body Skill is indeed incomplete. Although the original Ba Xia tried to patch it up before he died, it’s still not a complete Immortal Body Technique. I heard their Eldest Prince wants to attempt his minor Immortal Body tribulation soon. However, his Body Demon is especially vicious, and the Body Evil in his physique is extremely impure. Even if he survives the minor tribulation, he won’t be able to completely purge the Body Evil. This will plant a hidden seed of backlash for his major tribulation in the future..."

"...So Ba Xia is probably getting desperate. He wants to complete his country’s Immortal Body Technique. Legend has it that your Chi Family’s technique was passed down from the desolate, ancient era and wasn’t created by your ancestors. It’s a complete Immortal Body Technique. Therefore, Ba Xia wants to study it to see if it can fix the flaws in his own."

At this, Sikong Toutian clicked his tongue. He looked at Chi Xiaodao and smiled. "In truth, more than one Great Teaching Territory in the East Hundred Cities covets your family’s Immortal Body Technique. That’s also why no one has made a direct move yet. Think about it, if the Nu Xian Sacred Country actually destroyed your Lion Roar Sect and stole the technique, it would give all the other powers a perfect excuse to attack them. Next thing you know, everyone would have their own copy of your family’s technique!"

Chi Xiaodao’s expression was uglier than ever. He couldn’t help but clench his fists. The truth was, he had never even seen the Chi Family’s Immortal Body Technique himself. Only his grandfather knew its secrets!

It was no wonder everyone coveted the Chi Family’s Immortal Body Technique. After all, it was more precious than an Emperor Technique, perhaps even comparable to a Heavenly Destiny Secret Skill. If not for the fact that their Elder Ancestor, the Lion Roar Saint Emperor, was still alive and had close ties to several of the Celestial Dao Academy’s Deans, someone would have made a move against the Lion Roar Sect long ago.

However, for many Great Teaching Territories, now was the perfect time to act. The Celestial Dao Academy could barely protect itself, let alone help the Lion Roar Sect. The situation was chaotic, and the Nu Xian Sacred Country had even formed an alliance. If they didn’t seize the Chi Family’s Immortal Body Technique now, when would they get another chance?
