Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld

Chapter 20 - 19: Your Worrying Is Not My Problem

Below them was a valley dotted with peaks of all sizes.

To Chu Liangyu, every single one of them looked terrifyingly sharp, as if they could impale them both in an instant.

A faint layer of energy enveloped them, but Chu Liangyu had already braced herself for being torn to pieces.

SCREECH...

The giant Golden Eagle swooped down, and Chu Liangyu’s descent came to an abrupt halt.

Chu Liangyu breathed a sigh of relief as the energy shield around her dissipated.

"You’re so beautiful. It’s a shame you can’t bear cubs, but it’s not like you’re useless for other things."

A chill shot through Chu Liangyu’s heart. The meaning behind his "other things" was all too clear.

But she only engaged in that sort of thing when she was in the mood, and she had no interest in playing a pervert’s sick games.

"You’d better think this through. I have twelve Beast Husbands, and every single one of them is incredibly powerful."

"If you join them, you’ll be at the very bottom of the totem pole. I can’t stop them if they decide to bully you."

Yin Muli stared at her with his one good eye and chuckled. "Who said anything about joining? I was a little hesitant before, but you, as you are now..."

"You’re completely worthless. Who do you think would possibly come to save you?"

Chu Liangyu raised an eyebrow. ’This guy knows quite a bit.’ "And what if they all show up? What will you do then?"

"Let them come. It would be even better if they wiped out my entire tribe. I’d actually be thrilled."

’It seems he doesn’t get along with his clansmen.’ Chu Liangyu grew a little curious.

’What could make this guy hate his own people so much?’

Yin Muli, however, fell silent and simply focused on the journey.

After traveling through the night, they finally stopped on the morning of the second day.

The Golden Eagle Tribe was bustling with activity. Upon seeing their triumphant clansmen return, the tribespeople couldn’t help but cry out in excitement.

Chu Liangyu couldn’t understand their words, but she could feel the powerful emotions behind them.

"The Young Clan Leader is back! Quick, go inform the Old Clan Leader!"

"Alright, alright, I’ll go right now."

Yin Muli was rough, throwing Chu Liangyu face-first to the ground. When she pushed herself up, her face was covered in dust.

"This is the female the Young Clan Leader likes?"

"She doesn’t look like it. Who would be so rough with a female they fancy?"

"Maybe the Young Clan Leader is just... blunt?"

The crowd’s murmurs were endless, their speculation running wild.

His beast form receded, revealing Yin Muli wearing an eyepatch.

His scholarly, villainous air instantly took on a more roguish edge, but he was no less handsome for it.

----

「Niu Shou Mountain, Bianye Tribe.」

Ever since Chu Liangyu was abducted, a desolate quiet had fallen over the tribe.

There was also a faint, explosive tension in the air.

"Aren’t you a noble Phoenix? Why couldn’t you even protect our Female Master?!"

Xiong Xianhui pointed a finger at Feng Qiwu, his head clouded with fury. At that moment, he couldn’t care less about offending the Phoenix.

Perhaps it was the accusatory tone, but Feng Qiwu’s pride would not allow him to admit fault.

He maintained his lofty demeanor. "A wild bear dares to point fingers at me? You say I failed to protect her? And what about you?"

"Don’t think I don’t know what you’ve done."

Those words were like a hand closing around Xiong Xianhui’s throat, leaving him instantly speechless.

’That’s right,’ he thought, ’I almost lost her before, too.’

"Enough. It’s been two days. Shouldn’t we be thinking about how to rescue our Female Master?" Hu Qiumu interjected, his expression turning cold.

It had to be said, Hu Qiumu was quite intimidating when he spoke with such a cold expression.

"Hmph!"

After a sharp "Hmph!", Feng Qiwu refrained from saying anything else unpleasant. "Then you tell us. What should we do?"

"There are so many cubs here. If we go to rescue our Female Master, who’s supposed to look after them?"

Hu Qiumu thought for a moment before coming up with a solution. "No one here can handle them all. Why don’t we send them back to their original tribes? Once this is all over, we can bring them back."

"That’s actually a good idea."

Hu Qiumu, taking the lead as usual, asked the others, "Who wants to come with us?"

"Me, me, me! I want to go!"

Unexpectedly, the first to volunteer was Xiong Jiaojiao.

Then, Wen Yan spoke up. "I’ll go too."

Xiong Xianhui still looked displeased with him, but he knew there was strength in numbers, so he kept his mouth shut.

Hu Qiumu nodded and looked at the others.

Every one of them looked distinctly unenthusiastic and remained silent.

They were all adult beasts; everyone knew exactly what their silence meant.

He didn’t press the matter, simply calling for Feng Qiwu. The five of them left the room together.

They agreed to send all the cubs back to their home tribes within two days and to reconvene at Bianye Tribe on the morning of the third day. From there, they would travel together to the Golden Eagle Clan’s territory.

Golden Eagles were extremely fast fliers, and the clan’s territory was thousands of miles away.

Traveling on foot would take an eternity, so they had to rely on Feng Qiwu to fly them there.

"I am a Phoenix! You want to sit on my back? This is an insult! I refuse!"

Clearly, things were not going smoothly. The other four exchanged glances and fell silent.

Xiong Jiaojiao suddenly felt a pang of sympathy for Chu Liangyu. ’How does she put up with so many eccentric Beast Husbands?’

But they couldn’t remain at a stalemate. A flash of inspiration struck Xiong Jiaojiao. "I’ll weave a large basket," she suggested. "We can sit inside it, and you can carry the basket. Would that work?"

"That will work. Hurry up and make it."

Xiong Jiaojiao, ever good-tempered, didn’t take offense at his commanding tone.

’When Chu Liangyu first met Feng Qiwu,’ she recalled, ’the guy was so arrogant his nose was in the air, and he wouldn’t even give anyone the time of day.’

It wasn’t until Chu Liangyu demonstrated her reproductive ability that he finally gave her a second glance.

As for why he was now helping to save a "worthless" Chu Liangyu, only he himself knew the reason.

"I’m done."

The Wood Spirit Clan were naturally dexterous and had a strong affinity for all things flora. In no time at all, she had woven an enormous basket.

Feng Qiwu shot her an appreciative glance and, without another word, transformed into his beast form.

The basket swayed as it lifted into the air. For most of them, it was their first time flying, and their faces couldn’t help but turn pale.

Wen Yan, in particular, couldn’t handle it. He clutched the side of the basket and retched, all the energy draining from him in an instant.

"Useless," Xiong Xianhui, ever the vitriolic one, commented immediately upon seeing his state.

Of course, no one responded to him.

----

Chu Liangyu had no idea a rescue party was already on its way. She had been locked in a sunless cellar for days.

The stuffy air was suffocating, and she desperately longed to get out and breathe in some fresh air.

"Open the cellar."

"Yes."

Chu Liangyu’s ears twitched. She immediately recognized the voice as Yin Muli’s.

Blinding light flooded the cellar, and Chu Liangyu instinctively shielded her eyes.

The small cub beside her grabbed her hand, staring warily at the figure above.

"Starting today, you are my Female Master, and mine alone."

"Everything is ready. Come with me and meet everyone."

With that, Chu Liangyu was hauled out of the cellar.

Yin Muli’s eyes swept over the small cub clinging to her, a flicker of annoyance in his gaze.

He yanked the cub off her and tossed him to a guard. "Watch him. Don’t let him run around."

"Let him stay with me. I won’t feel safe otherwise."

"What the hell does that have to do with me?"

Chu Liangyu felt that since meeting Yin Muli, the number of times she’d been rendered speechless had increased exponentially.

But she was in a precarious position and knew when she had to bow her head.
