Done Breeding: Now I Rule the Beastworld

Chapter 88 - 87: Unfortunately, No System

On the way to Ten Thousand Beasts City again, the earlier urgency was gone. Now, she was in the mood to appreciate the snowy scenery.

Whenever she had a free moment, her mind would start to wander. For instance, what exactly did Jiang Li want by giving her a one-month deadline?

A thought flashed through her mind, gone in an instant.

Before she could grasp the key point, the transaction panel lit up.

"So, when are you coming back? It’s getting lively in the tribe. If you don’t hurry, you’re going to miss it all."

Lou Sang’s face was full of relish; it was clear this was about some kind of trouble.

"What’s going on in the tribe?"

Her simple question opened the floodgates. Lou Sang couldn’t stop talking.

"Your pack of Beast Husbands are putting on a play, fighting over a female."

Just talking about it wasn’t enough for him; he actually started a live broadcast for her.

In the tribe, there was a hall specifically for discussing tribal affairs. At this moment, several of Chu Liangyu’s Beast Husbands were standing inside.

And Feng Qingqing stood among them, like the moon surrounded by stars.

"Feng Qiwu, you’re the one who brought this female back. Shouldn’t you be the one responsible for her daily needs?"

He’d noticed the strange, almost intimate atmosphere between them before. He couldn’t believe Feng Qiwu would actually let this female come and bother them.

Jinling couldn’t help but suspect that the guy’s recent behavior had all been an act.

Feng Qiwu’s expression was also grim. He looked at Feng Qingqing, a pained look in his eyes. "I’d like to, but..."

"Oh, it’s not Qiwu’s fault," Feng Qingqing chimed in. "I just felt he was getting too tired taking care of me all by himself, and I wanted to lighten his burden."

"Do you have to pick me to take care of you? There are so many others here. Pick someone else."

Jinling and Hu Qiumu had conspired to let her stay temporarily, but only to distract Feng Qiwu. Now that Chu Liangyu wasn’t in the tribe, her presence was rather dispensable.

If he had known his big mouth would cause this much trouble, he would have slapped himself without a second thought.

"If you’re not willing, then... then forget it."

Feng Qingqing’s eyes welled with tears. She looked at him with a fragile expression, as if his words had broken her heart.

Jinling inwardly sighed in relief. ’Good, this female isn’t that shameless. She knows her place.’

"Jinling, don’t be so ungrateful! A female is begging you like this, and this is your attitude?"

Feng Qiwu was furious and, in his anger, looked ready to strike.

In the middle of the heated argument, Feng Qingqing "uncontrollably" fell into Jinling’s arms.

In an instant, an elegant and faintly sweet fragrance wafted from her.

The soft feeling in his arms made him freeze on the spot. Feng Qiwu, who had drawn near, seized the opportunity and threw a punch at his face.

At the critical moment, Feng Qingqing stretched out her hand to block the blow. Her hand trembled from the pain, but she didn’t forget to ask with concern, "Are you all right?"

"I’m fine." Jinling’s attitude toward her softened a little, but his eyes were filled with rage when he looked at Feng Qiwu.

Feng Qiwu acted as if he didn’t see it. "If you don’t want to take care of her, then give her to me."

Jinling sneered, but then, completely out of character, he pulled the female in his arms closer. "Who said I’m not willing? You, go mind your own business."

"You’re insane," Feng Qiwu cursed, his recently lowered hand now clenched into a tight fist.

"Since both sides agree, let’s leave it at that," Xiang Qiancheng said with a light chuckle, clearly enjoying the show as he mediated.

The others had a similar attitude. Seeing there was no chance of changing the outcome, Feng Qiwu could only suppress his anger.

As the crowd dispersed, Feng Qiwu’s mind felt muddled, and he couldn’t process what had just happened.

He only started walking outside after everyone else had left.

The cold wind, laced with snowflakes, blew against his face. For a moment, the fog in his head cleared.

’What was I just doing?’

’Was I really fighting someone over that female, Feng Qingqing?’

A pained, constipated expression instantly appeared on Feng Qiwu’s handsome face, the twisted look lowering his good looks by several notches. His voice was filled with despair. "Gods above, I must be possessed!"

Heaven and earth could bear witness; he truly had no romantic feelings for that female whatsoever.

But how else could he explain the stupid things he’d done these past few days? Feng Qiwu could only think of this one reason.

"So? Any thoughts?" The view switched back to Lou Sang, who asked her with a grin.

"It’s a pity. If she were a system-equipped transmigration protagonist, she’d definitely reach the pinnacle of life."

Lou Sang was stunned for a moment. "What do you mean by that?"

"These men... none of them are stupid. There’s something off about Feng Qingqing, and it won’t be long before they notice." Chu Liangyu’s words were vague, leaving Lou Sang even more confused.

"I don’t see anything off about her. In fact, she seems pretty resourceful."

"You’re still too young. Just watch and see."

Chu Liangyu had originally thought this little chick had some brilliant scheme, but it turned out to be nothing more than a pouch of mind-confusing drug powder.

She could have used it to do something significant, like make them fight, or sleep with one of them, or sow discord between them and her, their Female Master.

If even one of those had succeeded, the tribe wouldn’t be as peaceful as it was now.

Luckily, Feng Qingqing was greedy. She actually wanted to conquer their hearts and make them submit to her will.

With such ambition, the effects of such a crude tool seemed rather useless.

"You know, people who leave you hanging deserve to be struck by lightning, right?" Lou Sang knocked on the system panel, trying to get her to explain more clearly.

The system panel flickered with static, as if the signal were bad, and then the screen went black. Chu Liangyu had hung up.

Speaking of which, by sheer coincidence, Yu Tu arrived at the Xihe Tribe a few days later.

As soon as he relayed Chu Liangyu’s arrangements, Jinling was temporarily pulled away from his time with Feng Qingqing.

"Jinling, I don’t want you to go. Can’t you stay with me?"

"Are you planning to disobey the Female Master’s orders?"

If it weren’t for Chu Liangyu’s words, Hu Qiumu couldn’t be bothered to get involved in this mess.

But he had no choice. Seeing the struggle in Jinling’s eyes, he knew there was still some rationality left in him.

So he directly brought up something only the four of them in the tribe knew. "Have you forgotten the news we got from Feng Qiwu? Do you want to give up?"

He wasn’t being particularly subtle. As one of the insiders, Jinling quickly understood what Hu Qiumu meant.

He pulled his arm free from Feng Qingqing’s grasp and replied, "I haven’t forgotten. I’ll go with you now."

"What news?" Feng Qingqing sounded genuinely wronged. "If you leave, who will take care of me?"

Jinling exchanged a look with Hu Qiumu. He, too, had guessed that his strange behavior these past few days was inextricably linked to Feng Qingqing.

A while ago, Chi Yizhong had said the Female Master would be back in a month. Counting on his fingers, there weren’t many days left.

The memory of Xiang Qiancheng gleefully watching the drama unfold made Jinling grind his teeth in frustration.

An idea came to him. "It was my oversight. How about this? I’ll find someone else to take care of you."

As he pulled Feng Qingqing away, Jinling didn’t forget to turn back and whisper to Hu Qiumu, "Wait for me. We’ll leave right away."

"Hurry up." Hu Qiumu nodded and sat down to wait quietly.
