Ah Jiu’s face turned green.
Wufu, however, smiled with crescent-shaped eyes, slipped on her shoes, and walked out.
Outside the hall, Chi Yi and Chi Si, both dressed in black, kneeled in the courtyard. Several other Hidden Guards kneeled among them, some even lying on the ground. Not far away, hurried footsteps flew by, rushing into the outside of the hall. Seeing this scene, everyone was stunned.
Ah Jiu stood beside Wufu, his face looking displeased at everyone, finally fixing his gaze on Yuan Ye and Su Luo.
They did a good job with the defense.
A sweep of knees fell before the hall, including Yuan Ye and Su Luo.
"Strengthen the training by two Shichen daily and redeploy the mansion’s defenses," Ah Jiu ordered, his face still green.
Su Luo secretly lamented in his heart but had no complaints. After all, it was their oversight. If the intruders were real enemies, then could it be that the Prince had already encountered misfortune?
"Yuan Ye, organize and bring me a report on the vulnerabilities," Wufu also instructed, as she wanted to see which holes were larger.
"Yes."
"Chi Yi, come inside to talk!" Wufu turned around, followed by Ah Jiu.
Su Luo looked at Chi Yi, and with a bitter face, said, "Brother, don’t do that. You should at least give a heads-up if you plan to raid!" They had no preparation at all.
Chi Yi, exuding a cold and iron-blooded demeanor, glanced at him and said, "This is the Prince and Princess Consort’s intention. If it was announced, it wouldn’t be a raid. On the battlefield, you don’t notify the opponent before fighting."
Su Luo’s mouth twitched, wanting to say more, but Yuan Ye interjected, "Su Luo, accept your defeat." Then looking at the two, he said, "Let’s go see the Prince, and later we’ll have a drink?"
They still needed to discuss where the mansion’s vulnerabilities were. After everyone had deliberated, they could fortify the mansion into an ironclad fort, making it difficult for outsiders to probe.
Otherwise, if it were like tonight, they would have to present their heads!
Chi Yi didn’t object to Yuan Ye’s proposal, nodded, and led Chi Si inside.
Su Luo watched them enter the hall, clicked his tongue twice, and said, "Incredible, nearly two years without seeing each other, they’ve become even more unfathomable!"
Both were like wild wolves from deep mountains and deserts, solitary, ruthless, and cold, even though they appeared clean, they seemed to exude a bloody aura.
Like a wild wolf with a wide-open mouth revealing sharp teeth, cold and fierce, making one hesitant to approach.
"Those are Princess Consort’s people!" Yuan Ye squinted, watching inside, feeling both astonished and fortunate.
Such an advantageous weapon belongs to the Princess Consort!
Equally, it also belongs to the Prince, because the two are one.
"Let’s go." Yuan Ye called out, and everyone in the courtyard took their positions.
Just after tonight, no one would take things lightly anymore.
In the East Side Room, Chi Yi and Chi Si kneeled again before Wufu and Ah Jiu, performing a grand salute.
"Rise and speak!" Wufu said with a smile to the two.
Once they stood, it was apparent that their clothes were slashed by swords, some exposed skin even bore blood marks, yet with no major injuries. Wufu couldn’t help but nod in satisfaction.
Their ability to rely on their own skills to reach her proved their prowess, showing their past two years abroad hadn’t been wasted.
Especially observing their imposing and cold demeanor, Wufu felt even more gratified.
And beyond these two, there were others too; she had her own formidable weapon.
Given time, this weapon would only be honed sharper and brighter, defeating all adversaries in its path.
