Outside the stone cave, Ye Wushuang gazed at the moon-shaped pendant hanging from Xiaoxiao’s neck. Surprisingly, instead of harming Xiaoxiao, he calmed down.
However, in the distant sky, the Heaven-Reaching Light Pillar showed no signs of subsiding.
That place was the Lost Village.
Ye Wushuang turned his head to gaze into the distance, his brow furrowed. ’This commotion is too big. It’ll probably attract unwanted attention. It seems I have to get back as soon as possible.’
He checked on Xiaoxiao, and only after confirming she was alright did Ye Wushuang feel relieved.
"Xiaoo Yue, we need to get back to the village, fast!"
Ye Wushuang shouted urgently, not dwelling on why the pendant hadn’t caused Xiaoxiao any harm.
He led the three of them away at a rapid pace, heading for the village.
...
「The Lost Village.」
"Ah, my son!"
The couple went mad with grief. With a burst of strength from an unknown source, they broke free from the irresistible force that bound them!
They threw themselves madly at the child being consumed by fire, trying to smother the flames with their own bodies!
"Don’t!"
The old village chief’s body trembled as he watched the couple, preparing to stop them.
But it was too late.
When they lunged forward, not only did they fail to extinguish the fire, but the flames engulfed them as well. Their agonizing screams tore through the sky.
"Beasts! You beasts!"
The villagers clenched their fists, their nails digging so deep into their palms that blood dripped to the ground. But how could the pain in their hands compare to the heart-wrenching agony they felt?
Eyes flew wide as if they would split, bloodshot and full of hate!
’Why?’
’We live here. We haven’t offended anyone. Why are we being subjected to this slaughter?’
’Why are we being trampled on like this?’
"Why?"
The old village chief stared at Tianyang, his voice suddenly hoarse. His figure seemed to stoop a little more.
’These villagers were simple and kind. They only ever worked to make a living. Why must they suffer such a brutal massacre!’
’The Lost Village was isolated from the rest of the world. We sought conflict with no one. Why are these people so cold-hearted?’
But no one answered him.
Looking down at the tormented villagers below, the group in the sky laughed.
SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!
Several more Flame Swords shot down, hurtling toward a few villagers.
"You beast!"
The old village chief roared in grief and indignation. Countless runes burst from him, shattering the youth’s suppression!
"Hmph!"
Seeing his attack resisted, the youth’s gaze turned cold. He thrust out both palms, and a Heaven-Covering Hand pressed down, clashing with the runes and grinding them away.
Meanwhile, the Flame Swords, carrying the power of a Profound Level Celestial Pride, struck several villagers, incinerating them.
"Stop killing! I’ll kneel! I’ll kneel!"
Tears streamed down the old village chief’s face as he was overcome with a sense of powerlessness.
Not only were these youths bloodthirsty and merciless, but they were also masters at the Profound Level or higher. With him pinned down by one of them, Tianyang was free to do as he pleased and slaughter the villagers at will.
BOOM!
The old village chief fell to his knees before them all.
"Old Village Chief!"
Seeing this, the remaining villagers scrambled toward him.
"Hahaha, this desperate struggling is what makes it fun."
A smile spread across Tianyang’s face as he watched from the sky.
The others laughed along, as if they didn’t even see the people below as human.
"Stop playing around. Don’t you see those powerful ants have arrived?" one of the youths said, looking into the distance where countless figures had appeared outside the village.
Among them, one group consisted of the Celestial Prides from the Holy City, who had come for the Moon God Flower. The others were people who had been drawn by the Heaven-Reaching Light Pillar.
Some of them had a Rhombic Crystal Stone shining between their eyebrows, looking truly extraordinary.
Their vital energy was immense, strange Inscriptions swirled around them, and their imposing presence was sharp and unmistakable.
Everyone present knew who they were: the Original People Clan, the natives of the Grand Emperor Domain.
"What’s there to be afraid of? They’re just a bunch of ’monkeys’ with a bit of strength. Do they really think they can contend with our Celestial Dome?"
Tianyang scoffed and turned to the old village chief.
"I’ll give you one chance. Hand over the Time Pendant, and I can grant you all a simple death."
Tianyang looked down upon the old village chief, his words dripping with condescension, as if he were a Divine Spirit.
Even the "gift" of a simple death was presented as a great act of mercy toward the villagers.
"What Time Pendant? We don’t know what you’re talking about!"
A villager yelled, gritting his teeth so hard they threatened to crack as he stared at the group standing high in the clouds.
"Not handing it over? Well then, let’s keep playing."
Tianyang sneered. With a grasp of his hand, a little girl was pulled into his clutches.
"Xiao Ni!"
A woman scrambled to her feet in terror and rushed toward the little girl, trying to embrace her.
But...
SWISH!
A sharp Flame Sword shot down, nailing the woman to the ground.
"Waaah... Mommy!" the little girl cried.
The little girl burst into tears, struggling frantically.
"Let her go! She’s just a child!"
The old village chief cried Blood Tears. ’These are my people, the villagers I swore to protect, and they’re being slaughtered like this!’
"You want the Time Pendant? I’ll give it to you! Just let her go."
The old village chief yelled.
"I’m very sorry, but your answer has come a little too late."
Tianyang shrugged with a playful smile as a world-scorching flame enveloped the little girl.
At this sight, some of the people gathered outside the village simply watched in silence as the Celestial Prides from Celestial Dome toyed with the people of the Lost Village.
"How cruel!"
Many in the crowd frowned, disgusted by the scene.
"They’re from Celestial Dome!"
Another person’s reminder immediately silenced everyone. Celestial Dome represented the heavens themselves, a truly supreme power. Its people, also known as the Celestial People, were a taboo existence.
"They’re just a bunch of ants. What’s there to sympathize with? They live at the bottom, as low as can be. Killing them is just helping them find release."
On another side, a young man from the Original People, distinguished by the Purple Rhombic Crystal Stone floating between his eyebrows, watched on and snorted, his expression one of utter indifference.
"Let’s just keep watching. See what the people from Celestial Dome are up to."
From the Holy City’s faction, Jing Hui watched and said lightly, "Offending Celestial Dome is not a wise move."
"That’s right. This has nothing to do with us. Celestial Dome is too terrifying; it’s not worth offending them."
Another youth chimed in, watching like a mere bystander.
The rest nodded in agreement, their eyes fixed on the members of Celestial Dome.
"Now, I want you to beg me to take it!" Tianyang said to the old village chief, demanding that the old man plead with him to accept the Time Pendant.
BOOM!
As he spoke, Tianyang reached for another little boy.
The crowd of onlookers watched the scene unfold as if it were a street performance. No one chose to intervene, even after being insulted as "monkeys."
"A bunch of cold-hearted people!"
From within the crowd, a young man snorted coldly and stepped forward.
This young man was Nanbei, the Celestial Pride ranked tenth on the Holy City’s Dragon List, wielder of the special Wind Spirit Body!
"I don’t know where the pride went for all of you who call yourselves Celestial Prides. I don’t know how your hearts grew so cold. But I can’t stand it. Monkeys? Ridiculous! Who among us is born noble?"
Nanbei’s voice rang in everyone’s ears, harsh and grating. For some, at least, the words struck a guilty chord.
BOOM!
Unleashing his Wind Spirit Body, Nanbei transformed into a hurricane that swept up the little boy, spiriting him away from Tianyang’s grasp.
