Liam continued swimming deeper into the underground lake.

The water gradually became colder.

At the same time, the pressure around him slowly increased.

Fortunately, his evolved body was strong enough to withstand it without any difficulty.

As he traveled farther, the lake became darker.

Very little light reached this depth.

However, Liam’s vision remained clear.

His enhanced eyesight allowed him to observe everything around him without any trouble.

His five Shadow Clones spread out, searching different directions while remaining close enough to support one another if they encountered danger.

Several more underwater monsters appeared along the way.

Some resembled giant eels covered in black scales.

Others looked like enormous crabs with crystal shells.

Whenever a monster noticed Liam, it immediately attacked.

The battles were much more difficult than those inside the cave.

Most of the underwater monsters were Tier 1, and their physical strength was far greater than that of the cave monsters.

Even so, Liam remained patient.

He first used Paralysis Curse Ray to create an opening.

If the paralysis failed, he immediately followed with Rot Curse or Poison Curse to weaken the target.

His Shadow Clones continuously supported him from different directions, making it difficult for any monster to focus on the real Liam.

Once an enemy slowed down, dozens of Dark Cutters flew toward it from every direction.

The monsters gradually fell one after another.

More notifications continued appearing before Liam.

As the battles continued, Liam also collected every monster core and useful material.

He stored crystal shells, venom glands, monster fangs, and water cores inside his inventory.

Many of the monsters also dropped skill crystals.

Liam decided not to learn them immediately.

He planned to inspect all of them after returning to a safe place.

Several hours later, Liam reached the deepest part of the underground lake.

Ahead of him stood a massive underwater cave.

The entrance was nearly thirty meters wide.

A powerful aura slowly spread from inside.

Liam narrowed his eye.

"Something strong is living in there."

"It’s just like the area where I found the Abyss Devil Centipede," he muttered as he looked at the cave entrance.

After making sure his mana had fully recovered, Liam cautiously swam inside together with his five Shadow Clones.

Liam and his Shadow Clones slowly advanced through the underwater cave.

The inside of the cave was enormous.

Its walls were covered with glowing blue crystals that illuminated the surroundings with a faint light.

Broken bones were scattered across the cave floor.

Most of them belonged to monsters, but a few clearly came from humanoid creatures.

Liam became even more cautious.

A few moments later, he reached the center of the cave.

There, he saw a large humanoid creature standing motionless.

Its body was over three meters tall and covered in dark blue scales.

It had the head of a fish, muscular arms, and a powerful tail instead of legs.

In one hand, it held a long two-pronged trident.

The weapon looked old, but the sharp metal tips still gave off a dangerous aura.

The creature slowly turned its head toward Liam.

Its yellow eyes locked onto him.

A notification appeared before Liam.

[ Deepwater Fishman Captain - Level 47 ]

Liam quietly observed the monster.

"So it’s a Fishman."

They are also powerful races of B rank category.

Unlike the monsters he had fought earlier, this one was clearly intelligent.

It stood calmly without showing any panic.

The Fishman Captain tightened its grip on the trident before pointing the weapon directly at Liam.

Then, without any warning, it thrust the trident forward.

A compressed spear of water shot through the lake at incredible speed, heading straight toward Liam.

Liam reacted immediately.

He activated Void Blink.

His body disappeared from its original position and instantly reappeared several meters to the side.

The spear of water flew past him and struck the cave wall.

Boom!

The impact shattered a large section of rock.

Liam glanced at the destroyed wall.

"That attack is much stronger than Dark Cutter."

Without waiting, his five Shadow Clones spread out and surrounded the Fishman Captain from different directions.

The Fishman Captain remained calm.

It watched every clone carefully, trying to identify the real Liam.

The clones attacked first.

Several Paralysis Curse Rays shot toward the Fishman Captain at the same time.

The Fishman Captain spun its trident.

A powerful current formed around its body, deflecting several curse rays before they could hit.

Only one curse ray slipped through and struck its shoulder.

Its body stiffened for less than a second before breaking free.

"So even Paralysis doesn’t last long against it."

Liam immediately followed with a Rot Curse Ray.

This time, the Fishman Captain failed to avoid it.

Dark patches quickly spread across its scales.

Its physical strength and vitality began to decline.

The Fishman Captain let out an angry roar and rushed toward Liam.

Its speed underwater was astonishing.

In the blink of an eye, it had already reached one of the Shadow Clones.

The trident flashed.

The Shadow Clone was pierced through the chest before dispersing into black mist.

Liam’s expression remained calm.

"Atleast it can’t tell the difference."

He raised both wings.

Four Dark Cutters flew toward the Fishman Captain at the same time, two from Liam and two from a nearby clone.

The Fishman Captain blocked two with its trident, but the remaining attacks struck its side and back.

Two deep wounds appeared on its body.

Dark blue blood spread through the water.

Instead of slowing down, the Fishman Captain became even more aggressive.

It swung its trident repeatedly, creating sharp water blades that shot through the lake.

Liam and his clones continuously used Void Blink to avoid the attacks.

Whenever an opening appeared, they fired another curse ray or launched more Dark Cutters.

The battle quickly turned into a fast exchange of attacks.

Neither side was willing to give the other any opportunity.
