Miriel activated Arcane Eyes.

The world around her immediately changed.

She could see streams of mana flowing through Liam’s body.

She could also see the remaining magical energy within the arena.

Even the magical barrier surrounding the battlefield became visible to her.

Miriel looked around in surprise.

"I can actually see mana."

She focused on Liam.

His body was surrounded by an enormous amount of energy.

She could even see the flow of mana moving through his skills.

Liam noticed her staring at him.

"What?"

"I can see your mana."

Miriel then looked toward a nearby area of the arena.

"There was an illusion there."

She pointed toward an empty section of the battlefield.

Liam looked in the same direction.

"Good."

"Arcane Eyes can detect hidden magic as well."

Miriel continued looking around.

She could see faint magical traces that had been completely invisible to her before.

"With this, it will be much harder for someone to surprise me with magic."

"That’s one of the main advantages of Arcane Eyes."

Liam nodded.

"You’ll also be able to study spells by observing their mana structure."

"If you encounter a powerful mage in the future, don’t immediately copy their strongest spell."

"First analyze it and make sure you understand how it works."

Miriel nodded.

"I understand."

She then looked at the remaining rewards.

"Now I have the three Epic-Rank skill crystals and three random skill upgrades."

Liam nodded.

"Learn the Epic-Rank skills first."

Miriel took out the three skill crystals.

One after another, she absorbed them.

Each crystal dissolved into particles of light and entered her body.

Three new skills appeared in her status screen.

[ Epic Skill: Arcane Sword Storm ]

[ Epic Skill: Meteor Strike ]

[ Epic Skill: Void Slicer ]

Miriel looked at the three remaining skill upgrades.

"Let’s see what I get."

She activated the first random skill upgrade.

[ Random Skill Upgrade activated. ]

[ Selected Skill: Basic Swordsmanship ]

[ Basic Swordsmanship (Lv.7) is evolving. ]

[ Basic Swordsmanship has evolved into Intermediate Swordsmanship. ]

[ Intermediate Swordsmanship — Lv.1 ]

Miriel blinked.

"My Basic Swordsmanship evolved into a completely different skill."

Liam nodded.

"That’s a skill evolution rather than a simple level increase."

Miriel then activated the second random skill upgrade.

[ Random Skill Upgrade activated. ]

[ Selected Skill: Void Slicer ]

[ Void Slicer is evolving. ]

[ Void Slicer has evolved into a Unique-Rank Skill. ]

[ New Skill acquired: Void Split — Lv.1 ]

Miriel looked at the notification with surprise.

"A Unique-Rank skill?"

Liam nodded.

"That’s a good result."

"Void-type skills are usually difficult to obtain."

Miriel activated the final random skill upgrade.

[ Random Skill Upgrade activated. ]

[ Selected Skill: Mana Control ]

[ Mana Control (Lv.8) is evolving. ]

[ Mana Control has evolved into Greater Mana Control. ]

[ Greater Mana Control — Lv.1 ]

Miriel looked at her new skills.

"So three of the random upgrades caused skill evolutions."

"Yes," Liam said.

"You were lucky."

The system suddenly displayed another notification.

[ Accumulated experience has been calculated. ]

[ Level requirements fulfilled. ]

[ Level increased. ]

[ Level increased. ]

[ Level increased. ]

[...]

[ Current Level: 41 ]

Miriel’s eyes widened.

"I reached Level 41?"

Liam nodded.

"Your experience from the Advancement Trial was still being processed."

"Since you completed the trial and received the experience from all those battles, the accumulated experience was enough to increase your level further."

Miriel opened her status screen.

Her previous attributes had also been multiplied by three because of the reward she received from the SSS-rated trial.

She also received additional free attribute points from her level increases.

Miriel stared at the screen for several seconds.

"I gained eleven levels, my attributes tripled, and I have forty-four free attribute points."

Liam nodded.

"Yes."

"You should distribute those points according to your class."

Miriel looked at her attributes.

Her Arcane Swordmaster class relied heavily on both physical combat and magic, so she needed a balanced distribution.

After thinking for a moment, she began assigning her free points.

She placed 14 points into Strength, 10 into Agility, 8 into Vitality, and 12 into Intelligence.

Her updated attributes appeared immediately.

Strength: 125

Agility: 97

Vitality: 110

Intelligence: 123

Free Attribute Points: 0

Miriel clenched her fist and felt the difference.

"I can feel the increase."

Liam nodded.

"That’s because your class benefits from every one of those attributes."

"Strength improves your sword attacks, Agility improves your movement and reaction speed, Vitality improves your durability, and Intelligence increases your mana and spell power."

Miriel looked at her new status screen again.

She had gone from a Level 12 D-Rank Spell Sword to a Level 41 Tier 1 Arcane Swordmaster with an S-Rank Talent.

Liam looked at her calmly.

"Now you’re finally starting to look like a proper Tier 1 combatant."

Miriel smiled.

"And I still have room to grow."

"Exactly."

Liam turned toward the exit of the trial area.

"Now let’s return to the forest."

"We still need to finish your academy assignment."

The trial zone vanished around them, and the two of them were returned to the forest.

" How many days have left of your Academy Trial?" Liam asked as they reappeared in the forest.

Miriel looked around before speaking.

"Our trial is simple. We just have to survive in the forest for a week, while gathering all the monsters materials we can."

"Five days have already passed before I met you, and now it’s the sixth day."

Liam nodded as he looked at the sky.

"That means only one day is left before your Academy Trial is complete huh."

"Yes."

Liam looked at Miriel.

"Okay, you should rest for now. I have something I need to handle while you’re recovering."

Miriel nodded.

"Can I help?"

Liam shook his head.

"No. You might only get in my way."
