"According to the legend, the Goddess of the Sea was a powerful cultivator belonging to our Mortal World," Chi Yao explained.

"You might not know this, but it’s rumored that our world is far from the only one. I’m not talking about the Immortal World." She shook her head.

"Besides our world and the Immortal World, there are thousands of other worlds of a similar level."

Saying this, Chi Yao’s expression turned solemn.

"Back then, our world was merely an inconspicuous one among them. There had never been anyone who reached the peak of the Mortal World, much less someone who ascended to the Immortal World."

"That was until the Goddess of the Sea appeared."

Chi Yao continued.

"With her astonishing talent, this Beastkin managed to reach the apex of the Mortal World, becoming capable of ascending to the Immortal World with a single thought."

"No one knows whether she actually did so. All that is known is that she disappeared shortly afterward."

"Before doing so, however, she left behind one final gift."

As she spoke, Chi Yao raised her head and looked toward the boundless sea above them.

Although separated by a formation, the astonishing volume of water remained clearly visible.

"It’s said that she built her own Domain, using a Heavenly Water for each of its nine regions. Together, these regions became what is now known as the Nine Origins Seas."

Everyone listened attentively to Chi Yao’s words.

At first, they were merely entranced by the Goddess of the Sea’s talent, sighing that she truly deserved her reputation as a Goddess.

To reach such heights without anyone supporting her or paving the way forward, it was obvious that her talent had been extraordinary.

But toward the end of her explanation, everyone’s eyes widened.

The Nine Origins Seas... were actually man-made?

And created by the Goddess of the Sea herself?

For a moment, none of them spoke.

The Nine Origins Seas had existed for countless years and were one of the strongest Domains, if not the strongest.

Compared to Tianxuan Domain, it was not only far more vast, but also far more powerful.

Yet now they were being told that this endless sea had once been created by a single cultivator.

Even Chen Xuan found the idea somewhat difficult to imagine. What kind of cultivation was required to accomplish something on such a scale?

Thankfully, he had seen a lot of things and quickly recovered.

Similarly, after the initial astonishment, Huo Ling’er somewhat accepted it. She had only come to the Nine Origins Seas once before.

Whether it was man-made or created by the heavens didn’t concern her in the slightest.

Xiao Lingxi, however, found it difficult to believe.

Unlike the other three, she had lived in the Nine Origins Seas her entire life.

She knew very well how vast it was, as well as how many powerful cultivators and terrifying beasts it housed.

The thought that everything she had known might actually be someone else’s creation was difficult to accept. It was no different from someone suddenly confirming the existence of the gods they had only heard about in legends.

"Alright." Seeing her deep in thought, Chen Xuan raised his hand.

"There is no reason to think about these things. Whether it’s true or not, we won’t be able to find the answer at the moment."

He spoke calmly, comforting Xiao Lingxi.

In reality, Chen Xuan knew that Chi Yao’s words had a ninety-nine percent chance of being true.

Based on the memories of her previous life, it only made sense that she possessed knowledge far beyond that of ordinary cultivators.

As for why a trace of doubt remained...

’There is a chance she might be hiding something.’

’For example, does she personally know the Goddess of the Sea?’

Chen Xuan’s eyes narrowed.

He had long since confirmed that Chi Yao’s previous life had also been spent in this Mortal World.

As such, it would only make sense for her to know about the Goddess of the Sea.

Perhaps the two had even interacted in the Immortal World?

If that were the case, obtaining the inheritance would undoubtedly be far easier.

Countless thoughts raced through Chen Xuan’s mind. He remained deep in thought for several seconds before finally recovering.

As he snapped back to reality, several confused faces entered his field of vision.

His disciples seemed unable to understand why their Master had suddenly become so thoughtful.

"Cough, cough," Chen Xuan cleared his throat.

"You must have already guessed why we’re here from Chi Yao’s explanation."

He looked toward the azure statue not far away.

"This is the place where the Goddess of the Sea’s inheritance is located. As long as it is activated, the secret realm will finally appear."

Before he had even finished speaking, several objects flew out of his spatial ring and materialized in his hand.

Two hairpins. Several jade orbs. A necklace. A bracelet.

The first three were accessories Chen Xuan had obtained long ago.

As for the bracelet, it was the one he had just obtained from Yu Potian.

The moment they appeared within the space, the five Jade Treasures resonated.

Not only with each other, but also with the enormous statue standing nearby.

A faint sheen spread across their surfaces. Countless tiny stars flashed through their bodies, resembling the stars of the night sky.

Chen Xuan could clearly feel the five objects struggling against his grip.

They wanted to escape. They wanted to rush toward the statue.

He hesitated for a brief moment.

Subconsciously, his gaze shifted toward Chi Yao.

Once he confirmed that her expression remained calm, with even a hint of excitement hidden within it, he no longer held back.

He relaxed his grip, allowing the Jade Treasures to fly away.

Their speed was incredible.

One moment, they were still resting atop his palm. The next, they had already appeared before the enormous statue and separated.

The two hairpins moved toward the Goddess of the Sea’s hair, one settling on each side of her head.

The many orbs flew toward the crown atop her head. They embedded themselves into the missing pieces, blending perfectly with the rest of the accessory.

Similarly, the bracelet moved toward her hand, while the necklace wrapped itself around her neck.

Within moments, all the missing accessories had been restored.

The moment they fused together, the strange sensation of incompleteness disappeared from the statue.

The Goddess of the Sea seemed to have finally been completed.

Chen Xuan had expected an astonishing reaction.

After all, the other party was a rumored Immortal.

Even if the inheritance had been left behind before her ascension, she was still the strongest existence he had ever come into contact with—save for Chi Yao and perhaps his mysterious Master.

He paid close attention to his disciples, ready to protect them in case something went wrong.

At the same time, he stared at the jade statue, waiting to see what would happen next.

Yet unexpectedly, his expectations were soon shattered.

The intense reaction he had anticipated never came.

The moment the statue was completed, a faint light merely flashed across its body.

Then, behind the woman’s head, a spatial passage suddenly appeared.

It was impossible to determine what lay on the other side.

But the moment it appeared, all four of them arrived at the same conclusion.

This was the secret realm where the Goddess of the Sea’s inheritance was located!

Although Huo Ling’er didn’t know the full extent of this Goddess’s power, she understood that the value of her inheritance was bound to be extraordinary.

Her eyes immediately lit up.

Subconsciously, she took a step forward, looking ready to rush headfirst into the passage.

Unfortunately, she didn’t get far.

A yelp echoed through the underground space.

Huo Ling’er turned around and looked at Chen Xuan with a face full of grievance.

Her gaze fell onto the hand gripping the back of her neck.

Her body dangled helplessly in the air. No matter how much she struggled, she found herself completely unable to break free.

The situation was already embarrassing enough.

Yet a faint, stifled laugh soon made it even worse.

Huo Ling’er followed the sound and discovered that it had come from Xiao Lingxi.

The girl was staring at her dangling in the air, covering her mouth with one hand as though afraid Huo Ling’er would notice her laughing.

Huo Ling’er immediately gnashed her teeth. She looked ready to say something, but her words were suddenly interrupted.

"Alright."

"We don’t know how long the spatial passage will exist. We can’t waste any time."

After saying this, Chen Xuan didn’t bother asking for their opinions.

He wrapped Chi Yao and Xiao Lingxi in his power and helped them soar into the air, while continuing to drag Huo Ling’er by the back of her neck.

Soon, their figures disappeared into the spatial passage, entering the secret realm.

The underground space quickly regained its silence.

Only a faint, mournful voice lingered behind.

"Master! Please let me down!"
