What followed was more than an hour of heated debate among the Grand Magus representatives, while the Supremes remained silent, watching the arguments unfold from their seats.
Three percent, proved far too large for any single faction to accept without question.
The discussion first turned toward Emery’s actual contribution. One representative proposed giving him a large one-time payment for his past work instead of granting him a permanent share of the project’s future output. Another immediately argued that even such a payment would place additional strain on a supply chain that was already stretched thin.
The debate over raising the Wolf clan’s quota faced similar resistance. Some suggested taking the additional percentage directly from the public auction portion, while others argued that doing so would reduce the facility’s available revenue and ultimately slow the project’s development.
Eventually, however, the discussion returned to the same issue.
The future of the Wolf clan.
By most measures, the Wolf race was only a mid-tier power within the Halfblood Alliance. Yet compared to the other major races, it had fallen noticeably behind. Without a Supreme of its own, its influence had steadily declined, and there was no obvious candidate capable of reaching the Supreme realm anytime soon.
Ronan finally broke the deadlock with a quiet chuckle.
"Both requests lead back to the same point, don’t they? The Beast Emperor’s disciple happens to be Wolf-blooded."
Emery finally understood what Ronan had been doing throughout the entire discussion.
He had deliberately tied the two demands together, using Emery’s own influence to strengthen the Wolf clan’s claim while simultaneously making Emery’s three-percent share more difficult to dismiss.
Warwick seemed to understand the strategy as well.
Before anyone else could respond, the old wolf stepped forward.
"Grand Magus Emery has already been a benefactor to the Silvermane Clan and the Wolf race as a whole."
He paused, allowing the words to settle before revealing the part most of the room had never known.
"Few of you are aware of this, but he was the Alpha Supreme’s first choice to inherit his Supreme legacy."
The revelation spoke of Emery standings among the whole wolf race.
Several expressions changed.
Kaelgor’s amber eyes settled on him once again, narrowing slightly as the Raging Sun Supreme reassessed the young Grand Magus before him.
In the end, exactly as Ronan had predicted, every thread of the argument led back to the same question.
Was Emery, and the faction behind him, actually worth the investment—or would supporting him simply waste resources that could be better spent elsewhere?
"No need to hesitate over this," Ronan said, completely at ease. "I can assure you that he’s the strongest Halfblood of the current generation. Supporting him will benefit every one of us."
The claim immediately stirred another wave of murmurs throughout the chamber, though many of the representatives remained unconvinced.
Grendel was the first to voice his objection, his tone carrying clear irritation.
"No matter how strong he supposedly is, no one compares to a Supreme."
"Agreed," Ferrin added. "We don’t need potential. Talent is common enough. How many of them actually possess the destiny to become a Supreme?"
Ronan suddenly laughed.
"Not every Supreme is cut from the same cloth." His gaze shifted deliberately between the two Supremes. "I doubt either of you could be compare to him as well"
Emery went still.
Ronan had just openly insulted two Supremes to their faces, and there was no doubt he had done it intentionally.
"Let’s make this simple. Four of the twelve races already support the proposal. He need both your vote... so you two are welcome to test his strength yourselves."
Emery hadn’t expected the discussion to reach this point. Fighting a Supreme, even one whose standing was relatively low among the fifteen Halfblood Supremes, was not something he could approach with any real confidence.
Then, a moment later, everything clicked into place.
Provoking both of them, publicly, in front of all twelve races, wasn’t reckless at all. It was deliberate. Neither Patriarch could accept a fair one-on-one fight against a junior without losing face in front of the entire Alliance.
Grendel’s expression soured for a moment as he glanced toward his Grand Magus subordinates, a Three Cosmos cultivator with considerable standing and reputation within the Halfblood Alliance, but even he had no confidence in sending someone of that level to fight the Beast Emperor’s disciple.
After a moment, Grendel finally stood.
"Fine!"
He jabbed a thick finger toward Emery.
"Take three strikes from me, stay standing, and you’ll have my vote."
Ronan’s smile deepened at that. Even the Nine Heaven Supreme’s expression shifted slightly.
Three strikes.
Emery didn’t need to win. He only needed to endure.
He could work with that.
Besides, he highly doubted this obese pig was stronger than the Dragon Supreme.
Several of the watching Grand Magus immediately perked up with open interest, visibly relieved to finally have something more entertaining to watch than another hour of political debate.
Nine heaven supreme rose from his seat and swept one hand outward. A gentle gust of wind rolled through the chamber, spreading across the floor before the entire room began to dissolve into drifting mist. The walls, ceiling, and stone floor vanished, replaced by an enormous open battlefield stretching beneath a clear sky.
It was his domain, specially created to contain the coming exchange without allowing the Supremes’ power to damage the facility itself.
Grendel stepped into the open field first.
At nearly three meters tall even before transforming, the War Hog Supreme looked like a walking fortress. Each step landed with enough weight to make the ground tremble, while his massive shoulders and thick arms gave him an overwhelming physical presence.
He turned toward Emery and crooked one finger.
"Come."
Emery followed, walking calmly into the battlefield while quietly preparing himself for what was coming.
"Arrogant kid’s about to learn a lesson."
Grendel’s grin revealed a row of thick, brutal teeth.
"Don’t say I didn’t warn you. And don’t go crying to your master afterward, either."
Emery said nothing, Khaos energy surged through his body, gathering beneath his skin as he began channeling every ounce of strength.
Across the battlefield, Grendel finally transformed.
Dark fur erupted across his massive frame as his body expanded, becoming a monstrous war hog covered in dense black bristles. Two enormous tusks curled upward from his jaws, while twin plumes of smoke poured from his nostrils with every breath. The pressure radiating from his body deepened until the entire battlefield seemed to grow heavier.
Then he charged.
There was no technique.
The War Hog Supreme simply lowered his head and unleashed the overwhelming physical power of a Supreme in a full, unrestrained charge.
Emery brought his primal form into both arms and met him head-on.
The difference in realms became obvious the instant they collided.
BOOM!
The impact sounded less like a strike and more like a mountain exploding.
Emery’s defense shattered instantly beneath the force. Pain shot through his bones and his entire body was launched backward like a projectile.
He flew more than a dozen meters before crashing into the edge of the domain.
The ground beneath him cracked from the impact, and his body crumpled against the invisible boundary before dropping heavily to the ground.
"Damn... It’s hurt"
