Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife

Chapter 1370 - 1409: A Common Enemy

"Well said!" Tobias Houghton raised his eyebrows mockingly, "Aren’t you using me too? To be honest, I’ve been with you, this old woman, for quite some time now. Do you really think your beauty is so overwhelming that it makes me head over heels?"

Old woman... Of course, Alessia Quinn knew she’s 34 years old, not young anymore, especially in the circle of socialites where it’s rare for someone her age to be unmarried.

She’s unwilling to settle for less, but those who meet her standards worry about her family background. Tobias Houghton was one of the few she set her eyes on, and he seemed satisfactory... she originally thought Tobias had some feelings for her.

But now it seems, the Houghton Family only agreed to the marriage to align with the Quinn Family, and now with Mabel Quinn in the picture, they’ve realized that Alessia is of no benefit to them anymore, especially with Kyle Kinston behind Mabel. Now, the Houghton Family plans to kick her to the curb.

Tobias is ruthlessly mocking her, and the young, pretty women surrounding him are mocking her too.

Alessia Quinn gritted her teeth in hatred, "You’ll regret this!"

"The biggest regret I have is getting engaged to you," Tobias said.

Alessia Quinn left Tobias’s private room in embarrassment, filled with resentment and unwillingness. Has all her years of effort really led to ruin? Once the news of the Houghton Family breaking the engagement becomes public, her reputation in J City will be completely lost.

But she feels powerless to stop it. She only just discovered some vague hint of a relationship between Mabel Quinn and Atlas Shaw, but lacks concrete evidence. She needs more "solid proof" to utterly defeat Mabel!

Revealing it now wouldn’t be the best timing.

Just as Alessia was about to leave the nightclub, she encountered an unexpected person—Francine Howards!

She hadn’t expected that after so many years, they’d meet again in such a setting.

"How about a chat?" Francine Howards suggested.

Alessia Quinn stared at her, knowing full well how down-and-out Francine is now, having become a laughingstock in Falling City, abandoned even by her cousin Dorian Howards.

"Francine, I don’t think we have anything to talk about," Alessia retorted.

"How could we not? We share a common enemy, don’t we?" Francine replied.

Alessia Quinn was taken aback—a common enemy... which could only mean Mabel Quinn.

But the issue is, "Even if we do have a common enemy, do you think you have the capability to discuss this topic with me, given your current situation?"

Francine Howards secretly bit her lip. Once upon a time, Alessia would only flatter and fawn over her, but now, Francine was even more down-and-out than Alessia.

"So, you seem to believe you’re capable enough to handle them by yourself," Francine sneered.

Alessia Quinn was indeed caught red-handed, a flash of awkwardness briefly crossing her face, but she quickly retorted, "That seems unrelated to you, doesn’t it?"

"If one day your methods don’t work, feel free to contact me," Francine said, handing Alessia a slip of paper with her new phone number—it certainly wasn’t her old number.

Since coming to J City with Gerald Peak, she’s changed her contact details.
