But this guy has always disdained using a stand-in, so the director had already given him the sheet music in advance. During the shoot, Atlas Shaw simply moved his fingers according to the sheet music. Although the music needed to be edited in later, the filming would appear more authentic, and consequently, the demands on the actor were much higher.
At this moment, Atlas Shaw had already done his makeup, wearing a casual knit sweater and loose home pants, with a pair of light gray striped slippers, looking quite relaxed.
"Can you really pretend to play according to the sheet music?" Mabel Quinn asked. After all, the sheet music required very high playing skills. Although Mabel knew that Atlas could play some piano, like she’d heard him play ’Little Bee’ for Ivy before, this was completely different from playing such a piece.
"I should be able to. Why don’t you watch closely later? If I can’t, then I’ll practice again." He smiled lightly, speaking with ease.
"It doesn’t matter even if you play it wrong. The sheet music is inherently too complicated," Mabel said.
"But for me, it’s not okay to make a mistake," Atlas said, suddenly leaning down, his gaze level with Mabel’s, whispering in a voice only they could hear, "because this is a lead role you wrote. If I’m going to act it out, I must do it the best. I have to perform so that no one can find fault!"
This was also his determination, from the moment he took on this role. Even if she doesn’t love him, even if her heart belongs to another man, he wanted her gaze to linger on him for a moment. He wanted the character he played to become a classic in her work, so that in the future, when others mentioned her work, they would associate him with it as well.
At the very least, for the role he played, he hoped to leave an indelible impression in her heart.
Mabel Quinn unconsciously froze for a moment, having never seen Atlas so serious when it came to acting.
Acting, no matter how talented he was or how high others praised him, he had always approached it with indifference, as if acting was merely a pastime to kill boredom for him.
But now, he was serious, truly putting all his energy into it, as if willing to burn everything to perform in this play.
"By the way, Kyle Kinston is watching us. I wonder if he would misunderstand seeing us like this?" Atlas’s voice sounded again, pulling Mabel back to reality. She then turned her head to look in one direction.
Sure enough, Kyle Kinston was standing on the other side of the film set, gazing in their direction.
"Alright then, I’m going to get ready for the shoot." Atlas smiled lightly, turned around, and walked to his spot, leaving behind a messy situation for Mabel to deal with.
Mabel felt her head throbbing, glancing at Atlas’s particularly smooth back as he walked away, then looked at Kyle Kinston, who was coming over.
Would he misunderstand something? She couldn’t help but wonder, recalling how Kyle had been jealous of Daniel Harris and Atlas in the past.
Thinking of those past misunderstandings, Mabel couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous.
Kyle Kinston walked towards her, step by step, and finally reached her. She cautiously observed his expression and suddenly blurted out, "Um... don’t get the wrong idea."
