After paying the bail, Alessia Quinn finally got out of the police station. She was still thinking about how to clear herself from this matter, but as soon as she left the station, she encountered a swarm of journalists blocking the entrance. As soon as they saw her, flashes kept going off continuously, and the sound of cameras clicking filled the air.
"What are you doing?" Alessia Quinn snapped as she shielded her face with her hand, and Camille Grant, who had come to bail out her daughter, was immediately flustered by the situation.
"Miss Alessia Quinn, we heard that today Mr. Atlas Shaw suffered from food poisoning on set and was maliciously locked-in. Now the suspect who locked the door claims it was all instructed by you. Do you have anything to say about this?" a reporter asked.
Alessia Quinn was shocked and secretly cursed at how informed these journalists were. Yet she still tried to maintain her composure, saying, "I was only here to assist the police investigation. I trust the police will clear my name. That person who locked the door is just maliciously trying to drag others down to avoid his own crime."
"But someone heard the suspect say on the way to the police station that you instructed him to lock the door after Mabel Quinn entered the lounge. Are you targeting Miss Mabel Quinn?" Another journalist asked sharply, "If Miss Mabel Quinn truly has some rumors with Mr. Atlas Shaw, then the biggest beneficiary might be you."
Alessia Quinn’s smile began to stiffen, but she continued to whitewash herself, "Why would I? Mabel and I are cousins, and we have a great relationship. I have no reason to target my cousin. Besides, I don’t even know what kind of relationship she has with Atlas Shaw."
At this point, she still tried to hint at anything ambiguous between Mabel Quinn and Atlas Shaw, hoping the journalists would use their imagination and throw dirt on those two.
Yet, the journalist said, "But for the past two years, outsiders have been saying you might inherit Quinn Group. But now Miss Mabel Quinn has returned to the family, if Chairman Edward Quinn hands Quinn Group over to Miss Mabel Quinn, would you really have no resentment, Miss Alessia Quinn?"
"Of course not. If Uncle truly hands the group over to Mabel, I’ll be very happy and do my best to assist Mabel." Alessia Quinn continued to smile strainedly, but in her heart, she was growing more resentful, wanting nothing more than to escape the circle of journalists.
"Rumors say the Houghton Family might call off your engagement with Tobias Houghton. Is it because of some issue between your relationship with Tobias Houghton, or is it because Quinn Group might end up in Miss Mabel Quinn’s hands, leading the Houghton Family to reconsider the engagement?" Suddenly, another journalist raised this sharp question.
Just moments ago, Alessia Quinn was still forcing herself to smile, but now she couldn’t maintain her smile, "This is nonsense. My relationship with Tobias Houghton is great, and we won’t call off the engagement! As for anything else, no comment!"
After speaking, Alessia Quinn grabbed her mother and, with great effort, managed to squeeze out of the journalist’s encirclement.
Once in the car, Camille Grant hurriedly asked, "Alessia, what’s going on? Is the Houghton Family going to call off the engagement? Why didn’t I know? Are those journalists making things up?"
