An interesting deduction.
A will born of a Miracle might even have its very form of existence sculpted by that unique power.
Although it seemed purely speculative, Professor Ah Kai's line of thought instantly sparked a multitude of associations in Fu Qian's mind.
Choosing to engage in this cross-disciplinary exchange had been worthwhile after all.
As mentioned earlier, as an academic, Fu Qian had always harbored a curiosity about the essence of Miracles as a form of power.
And if the hypothesis regarding miraculous creatures proved true, the display of authority behind this act of practically forging a soul out of thin air was all the more astonishing.
Furthermore, the forms of existence exhibited by the sword heart and Huo could carry a far more significant representative meaning.
"Following this logic, why couldn't a transcendent creature trigger a Miracle and transform into that special form of existence?"
However, as a rigorous professor of the Apocalypse Branch, Fu Qian did not blindly agree. Maintaining the candid tone of their cross-disciplinary exchange, he raised his own speculative question.
Professor Ah Kai's answer made two things clear: he was already familiar with the concept, and he wasn't the least bit averse to being questioned.
"Some special transcendent creatures can indeed trigger Miracles. That was proven long ago."
"In fact, because their forms of existence differ from humans', the way they activate them is also different—sometimes much simpler."
"But they still aren't pure enough. As independent individuals, they are essentially no different from humans when it comes to the concept of Miracles."
Ah Kai pointed at himself.
"Someone might be able to use a Miracle to strengthen themselves, but in all these years, no one in the Benevolent Curse Institute has ever managed to turn themselves into that kind of pure, conceptual existence."
...
"That sounds reasonable. However, regarding these transcendent traits you mentioned, I assume they aren't simply materials harvested from a transcendent creature?"
Faced with Ah Kai's explanation, Fu Qian grew thoughtful, extending the other man's line of reasoning.
"Of course not."
Ah Kai continued to shake his head.
"According to the philosophy of the Benevolent Curse Institute, no matter how pure they appear, they still aren't pure enough. Their former imprints as transcendent lifeforms remain one of the foundations of their existence."
"It is nearly impossible to see a truly independent transcendent existence—unless its Rank is high enough."
"A Divine Trait?"
Fu Qian blinked, seemingly understanding Ah Kai's point.
"Exactly."
A hint of surprise flashed through Ah Kai's eyes.
The other man's sharpness was one thing, but this overly abstract, conceptual distinction was almost a self-indulgent pastime of the Benevolent Curse Institute. It especially clashed with the pragmatic style of Apocalypse.
To grasp it so instantly proved he harbored no prejudices in this area.
Such enviable promotion efficiency really didn't come from mere luck after all.
"Only a sufficiently high Rank possesses the possibility of existing independently, without relying on any physical form."
Though he sighed inwardly, it didn't stop Ah Kai from quickly confirming the other man's guess.
"Although they are precious and rare, given Your Excellency's achievements, you must have encountered this kind of high-Rank trait before?"
He had done more than just encounter them.
Ah Kai's question momentarily reminded Fu Qian of the many "precious and rare" things that had been destroyed by his own hands.
The most direct example among them was none other than that Cup of Abyssal Mist beneath the Rotten Forest Islet.
And, of course, the Holy Grail Cult that had excavated and collected them.
...
"I have encountered them. Just as you said, they are very pure forms of existence, including their influence on their surroundings."
Nodding slightly, Fu Qian acknowledged Ah Kai's statement.
"Are you trying to say that even this kind of unconscious influence might align with the requirements of a Miracle?"
"For us, it's impossible, but for a trait, not necessarily."
Ah Kai let out a sigh.
"As I mentioned earlier, the way transcendent creatures trigger Miracles can be simpler. Thus, it isn't impossible for a purer Divine Trait to simplify the process even further."
"Of course, before today, this was merely a speculative deduction passed down over the years."
"But it is indeed a logical deduction."
Fu Qian rubbed his chin, signaling for him not to sell himself short.
"A Divine Trait inadvertently met the requirements for a Miracle, developed self-awareness after being reversely influenced, and simultaneously maintained its purity and conceptual nature, becoming a living Miracle... And this ultimately makes them even more troublesome than some so-called Mythical Creatures."
"Living Miracle... I have to admit, that title is very accurate."
Although he hadn't gained any tangible benefits, it appeared the mere acquisition of "knowledge" was enough to put Professor Ah Kai in a highly pleasant mood as he sighed and reminisced about the past.
"Even though it has only been a hypothesis for many years, one of the things everyone in the Benevolent Curse Institute wants most is to see such an existence with their own eyes. So, that Dragon of Apoptosis Your Excellency mentioned—"
"It's dead."
Unfortunately, the surge of anticipation welling up inside Ah Kai was ruthlessly dashed to the ground the very next second.
Without issuing any empty promises, Fu Qian crisply and decisively stated Huo's current status.
"It's a pity you won't be able to fulfill that wish for the time being, but if there is any other information you'd like to know, feel free to ask."
...
'Didn't you just say earlier that that miraculous creature possessed Authority Grade control...? And now you turn right around and say it's dead?'
In that moment, the disappointment on Brother Ah Kai's face was comparable to someone carrying heaps of luggage through a ticket gate, only to be told their ticket was for the day before.
Yet, the other man's tone was so calm and collected that he couldn't muster even the slightest bit of doubt.
'Wait a minute... it couldn't have been beaten to death by you, could it?'
On the contrary, a terrifying thought suddenly sprang to mind the next second.
Not only because of his strength in the Demigod Realm, but this Professor Fu also had a track record.
As a backbone member of the Disciplinary Department, he had recently executed a certain Academy tutor—a tutor widely recognized as having the potential to advance to the Demigod Realm.
The Combat Power and decisiveness displayed in that act could be felt without even knowing the details.
Of course, shock aside, Ah Kai was clearly not someone who couldn't distinguish good from bad.
The other man sharing such important information had already yielded him a tremendous harvest. How could he harbor resentment just because he hadn't gained even more?
Not to mention, when it came to secrets involving this level of power, Professor Fu didn't hide a thing. He even maintained a gentle and candid posture. That trust alone was enough to make one feel overwhelmed by the favor.
"That truly is a pity. However, just knowing that they might actually exist is already a massive gain for me."
Not hiding his disappointment, Ah Kai followed up with a serious expression.
"At the same time, please rest assured that I will keep this matter absolutely confidential... After all, I might even glean some insights from this, so I can't let others beat me to it."
After poking a bit of fun at himself, he hesitated for a few seconds.
"Even though I can't see it with my own eyes... would it be convenient for Your Excellency to recreate the image of the Dragon of Apoptosis through a special Miracle?"
"Oh? What makes it special?"
Faced with Ah Kai's somewhat cautious posture, Fu Qian remained noncommittal and asked casually.
