Chapter 1841: Control of the Situation

As expected, her timing was impeccable, significantly cutting down the duration just as she promised.

Fu Qian could naturally sense that Classmate Su Gao's Exorcism Technique had finished; in fact, he canceled the Decree of Return at the exact same moment.

From the moment Rob and Ben rushed over to this brief exchange, barely any time had actually passed, even though the emotions had been intense and the situation had reversed more than once.

Furthermore, upon regaining her mobility, Su Gao's demeanor was crisp and direct.

The moment she opened her eyes, she seized control of the situation, perfectly embodying the person in charge that he had made her out to be.

The results were quite spectacular, too.

For instance, the three Academy instructors standing before them were visibly intimidated.

"Your Excellency... should we call Dean Li over now?"

Neither entirely human nor entirely an object.

However, when finally locked under the gaze of those amber eyes, Chang Mo felt an immense pressure, even though not a single trace of emotion could be heard in the woman's tone. For a moment, she had just asked a subconscious question, completely forgetting to ask for her name.

"No need. We will go to him."

Su Gao simply shook her head. The next moment, her gaze fell upon Rob and Ben.

"You two are coming as well."

...

The night was deep, yet the lights burned bright.

Even without her status as an envoy of the Night Watchers, Demigod Su's words had always been hard to refuse.

The two offenders, along with the negligent Professor Chang Mo, ultimately failed to voice a single objection to her arrangements.

In silence, the three obediently led the way through the darkness, and the group soon arrived at the Sword Comprehension Institute.

It was quite obvious that His Excellency Li Weixuan, who had just joyfully ascended to the Demigod Realm, hadn't been sleeping well after encountering such an incident right out of seclusion.

Not only was he resting directly in his office, but before Professor Chang Mo even had time to call for him, he took the initiative to come out and welcome this strange group inside.

"Yuan Fang mentioned that Your Excellency would be coming, so I made arrangements to preserve the scene here with as little interference as possible."

Without a doubt, Professor Chang Mo immediately scrambled to report their chance encounter with the Night Watcher envoys as briefly as possible.

His legendary composure truly showed itself here. Li Weixuan, who had already vaguely guessed what was happening, managed to maintain a gentle expression the entire time. After exchanging introductions with Su Gao, he skipped the pleasantries and directly explained the situation on his end.

Though as he said his final sentence, he still cast a glance at Rob and the others.

"It is fine. We have already investigated."

Unfortunately, there were still levels to being direct.

Having listened earnestly, Su Gao simply nodded.

...

They had already finished their investigation?

On the way here, Chang Mo and the other two had clearly been frantically guessing what Demigod Su was doing standing motionless back there.

It was a pity that this woman, who spoke so little yet possessed such overwhelming authority, made it impossible for them to muster the courage to ask.

Combined with her current statement, everything suddenly became clear.

She and Professor Fu had genuinely found something over at the Benevolent Curse Institute and were affected by it; they had just been dealing with the aftermath on the spot.

"The Feather comes from a High-Tier Transcendent. He hid in the Underground of the Benevolent Curse Institute to evade the Meteor, but was ultimately killed anyway."

Without waiting for them to ask and satisfy their curiosity, Su Gao continued without any filler.

A High-Tier Transcendent hiding in the Underground of the Benevolent Curse Institute?

Given how shocking the news was, aside from Li Weixuan, who maintained his leader's composure, the remaining few almost couldn't stop themselves from crying out in surprise.

Of course, the former's ability to remain steady was likely aided by the information Classmate Liushuang had passed along, which allowed him to make some prior guesses about the situation.

"Can their specific identity be confirmed? I have repeatedly verified everyone in the Benevolent Curse Institute; no one was harmed in that incident. The same goes for the other Academies."

Li Weixuan spoke decisively, and unsurprisingly, he did not offer any revelations.

The Prison Archangel was immediately confirmed not to be a member of the Academy.

"Not yet. Does Professor Ah Kai have any ideas regarding this?"

Showing no disappointment, Su Gao stated that the identity urgently needed confirmation before glancing at Ah Kai.

It was obvious from listening to the earlier exchange that she already knew this man was an elite of the Benevolent Curse Institute.

"I apologize, I haven't been a member for very long... Where was he hiding? After we went down, we only saw the Feather, no other traces."

The usually informal Professor Ah Kai was clearly under a mountain of pressure at that moment. His mind spun frantically for two seconds before he carefully shook his head.

He even went so far as to confess his mistake once more in front of Li Weixuan just to confirm a few more details.

"It was indeed the Underground of the Benevolent Curse Institute, but not simply a specific location. It was a place where a special space-time overlapped."

Not minding Professor Ah Kai's answer, and seeing that the others were equally curious, Su Gao actually answered the question.

"Or rather, it is a ship. That spot I carved out in the Underground was a node used to attempt to board it."

...

"A ship?"

When this latter explanation was given, even someone as strong as Li Weixuan finally couldn't help but be visibly moved.

"Yes, extremely ancient. It might even trace back to the Mythological Era. Does the Benevolent Curse Institute have any records regarding this?"

Providing even more details, Su Gao cast another look at Professor Ah Kai.

It was clear that her primary reason for sharing this was to provide this Miracle expert with some reference points.

"Professor Fu and I currently suspect that the reason the ship coincidentally appeared at the Benevolent Curse Institute might be due to a specific Miracle that was once activated. Can Professor Ah Kai think of anything?"

Once she decided to take control of the situation, the pressure Classmate Su Gao exerted was truly astonishing, demanding that this man continue to rack his brains.

"...I am sorry. There is truly nothing within the scope of my current knowledge, but I will put my full effort into searching through the archives and communicating with all the instructors to try and find relevant information."

The result was that after thinking hard, Professor Ah Kai offered a second apology with a face full of shame and promised to go back and work diligently on it.

"Thank you for your hard work. I will also report the current situation as soon as possible to confirm the identity of that High-Tier Transcendent."

As expected, Su Gao didn't make any pointless emotional displays. She directly arranged the follow-up tasks and turned to look at Li Weixuan.

"Dean Li, going forward, I will need you and several of the instructors to assist with my and Professor Fu's work."

Ah?

That last sentence undoubtedly drew all eyes to Fu Qian.

"Your Excellency... did Professor Fu just say he was a temporarily hired advisor?"

Although she felt it was deeply inappropriate, looking at the mysterious smile on the interim spokesperson of Apocalypse, Chang Mo ultimately couldn't hold back as she recalled his earlier claim.

"That's correct."

Su Gao nodded naturally, using a tone she had used before to deliver a line she had said before.

"Mr. Fu is a Night Watchers Special Operations Consultant."
