Chapter 2052: Centennial Rotation

These two really were...

It was surprising yet entirely predictable in hindsight. The moment Professor Fu proposed that highly unfriendly suggestion, Lisa's intuition told her a certain someone who had just returned would agree to it.

Dealing with them, it turned out, required a perpetually open mind.

The situation was definitely unusual, but were they really going to wade into this mess so recklessly?

For a few pathetic moments, she had actually wondered if Dean Casi's return might soften the Apocalypse's public image—

"Is Professor Lisa coming along?"

Her silent sigh was interrupted as Professor Fu, the architect of this idea, looked over with genuine curiosity, fully respecting her choice.

"...I'm coming."

After a few seconds of hesitation, Lisa let out a weary, long-suffering sigh and decided to join the madness.

All three were people of action. They set off immediately, and as they walked, Fu Qian let his thoughts wander.

He certainly wasn't bored enough to pull something as classless as showing up at their door just to mock them. Lisa's suspicion was right: it shouldn't be this quiet.

It had been quite some time since Old Man Weilong had returned to reflect on their conversation.

Given the gravity of the situation, rushing a decision was naturally unwise.

But the matter was equally sensitive. Dragging it out was just as irrational.

They had to know that. A sleepless night spent in a collective review meeting was the bare minimum to expect.

Yet he had given them nearly a full day, and there was still absolutely no movement on their end.

It stood to reason that the Linghui instructors had hit some kind of impasse and needed a little external assistance.

...

"According to you, Wen Li's situation is indeed strange. It absolutely reeks of conspiracy..."

Linghui Courtyard came into view in the blink of an eye. Having listened to Fu Qian's rough description along the way, Lisa offered an unreserved conclusion.

"The items she carried on her just happened to be exactly what she needed for promotion? And then she actually figured out the digestion method and completed it in a day or two? Every step is shockingly absurd. Did the people at Linghui really not notice?"

She clearly didn't buy a single bit of this fated development.

"I completely agree, but the fact remains that if I hadn't reminded him, Professor Weilong genuinely believed everything was perfectly normal."

Great minds think alike, Fu Qian instantly agreed, pointing at his own eyes.

Of course, what he wasn't in a rush to reveal was that the first half of the story—the part about the items Wen Li carried—had actually been his own arrangement.

Furthermore, it looked like the Linghui instructors truly did need a bit of external assistance.

A moment later, the team came to a sudden halt, exchanging glances before the towering white building.

They had arrived, but Linghui Courtyard didn't seem very welcoming to guests today.

Not only were the main gates unusually shut tight, but despite such a formidable lineup of visitors approaching, not a single person came out to greet them.

Crack, crack, crack—

Amid a series of sharp sounds, Fu Qian shoved the towering gates open with one hand.

The local academy was far too impolite. Even Li Weixuan's grandfather wouldn't dare slight this seat so blatantly.

Of course, this seat was also being quite impolite.

The doors swung open naturally, though not because they had been unlocked—it was just that they could never be locked again.

...

"What the hell are these people doing?"

The architecture of Linghui Courtyard had ultimately failed to escape Professor Fu's destructive hands.

Looking at the broken fragments scattered on the ground, Lisa gave a strange look at his overbearing behavior.

She didn't dwell on his hostility this time, however. Instead, she followed him right in, and the moment she stepped through the doorway, she began harshly criticizing the people of Linghui.

"Are they insane? This place is practically..."

The very next second, she clamped a hand over her nose and mouth, looking as though she refused to take another breath.

"Did a cesspit explode?"

Aside from the decaying scent of old architecture, Fu Qian was quite certain there were no foul odors here.

So even without his Transcendent Perception, he could still deduce a few things from her strong reaction and casually posed the question.

"Worse. It's constantly exploding. It's practically a whirlpool of filth."

Professor Fu's phrasing wasn't exactly subtle, but Lisa immediately agreed.

Even as she complained, she realized her gesture was futile and lowered her hand in resignation.

A cesspit spiral? The normal version of Professor Lisa had just experienced something similar not long ago; she shouldn't have reacted this strongly.

Thanks to the special mystical restriction blanketing all of Linghui Courtyard, years of mental accumulation had festered into an unpleasant atmosphere. That much was common knowledge.

It was just a pity that in his current state, he was completely immune to it.

Judging by Lisa's assessment, something was definitely happening within Linghui.

Stirring up the cesspit like this... their purpose truly gave one pause for thought—

"Dean Casi, Professor Fu, Professor Lisa."

Fortunately, he didn't have to wonder for long. The person with the answers promptly appeared.

The lack of a greeting outside didn't mean they had gone unnoticed; it was far more likely a deliberate gesture to turn away guests.

What happened next clearly demonstrated that their refusal would not be accepted. Before they knew it, several figures had materialized in front of them.

Unsurprisingly, the one who spoke was Professor Weilong, with whom they had been interacting quite a bit lately.

Beside him stood an older man, one who carried slightly less masculine vigor by comparison.

Professor Yang, the other Demigod Realm instructor of Linghui Courtyard.

Fu Qian naturally still remembered this senior, whom he had crossed paths with once before.

He hadn't made many appearances in their recent dealings. It was obvious the man kept a low profile and largely detached himself from worldly affairs.

Yet his presence now highlighted the severity of the problem. Fielding such a complete lineup, only to close their doors and bask in the Golden Rotation together—Linghui's self-reflection this time around was quite substantial.

Even if Professor Yang's gaze was currently fixed on the ruined gates.

"My apologies. We didn't expect the three of you to visit, so we failed to greet you at the door."

After a long silence, just as Lisa began silently regretting her companion's brutish behavior and wishing she hadn't initiated their prior conversation, Weilong spoke up slowly, expressing a heartfelt apology.

...

Since when was Linghui so agreeable?

Even knowing that her companion's prestige was growing by the day, and that given the special circumstances, the other party wouldn't express outright hostility over such a trivial matter, Weilong's attitude still took Lisa by surprise.

Besides, no matter how you looked at it, the three of them were clearly here to cause trouble...

"Don't mention it. Did you find anything?"

Professor Fu merely waved a hand, gesturing for him not to take it to heart, and cut straight to the point.

"A little... though we may still need Your Excellency's assistance. The three of you, please come with me."

As straightforward people speak plainly, Professor Weilong made no attempt to hide anything. He simply gestured and led the way.
