Chapter 217: Insect of Corrosion (6)

"Don't look over there."

Fu Qian kept his head down and walked briskly toward Sister Ox-Head, completely ignoring whether the other two could keep up.

Soon, the figures around them grew denser.

And they weren't just students. Fu Qian saw all kinds of clothing; the counselor from earlier was likely among them.

Roaring, every single person clutched their head with both hands, trying to pluck it off like a radish.

Crack!

Given the force they were using, Fu Qian could almost hear the crisp snapping of cervical vertebrae.

Under this abuse, large bruises and bloody tears already marred many of their necks, yet no one seemed to notice.

None of them reacted as he passed by.

A roar rang out; he could sense that Sister Ox-Head was only a dozen or so meters away.

The faint stench of blood already hung in the air.

He stopped and quickly turned around.

Only then did Fu Qian raise his head to face the direction they had come from.

Having learned their lesson, Liu Yi and the other student were noticeably more cooperative.

They practically glued their eyes to the ground, not daring to look up, and followed closely.

Meanwhile, the two-person, six-legged monster was sprinting madly after them.

"Hi there! Hello, doctor."

Timing it perfectly, Fu Qian called out to the monster.

Unfortunately, the creature only paused for a moment. It shot a quick glance his way before snapping its head back, still locked onto its original targets in mad pursuit.

Instead, his voice caused a commotion among the surrounding crowd.

"I checked online before I came; my illness is probably terminal!"

Seeing that the monster's aggro was a bit unstable, Fu Qian added another line.

Roar!

Almost instantly, Fu Qian found himself staring into a hideous face.

With eyes bulging and the corners of its eyelids tearing, the monster locked its deadly gaze onto him—and onto Sister Ox-Head, who was directly in line behind him.

The next moment, accompanied by another ear-piercing howl, all six of the monster's legs pushed off at once. It launched itself off the ground, lunging straight at him.

At the same time, a deep, resonant bellow erupted from behind him.

At such close range, Fu Qian instantly felt his limbs go numb, almost completely losing his connection to his body.

Mid-air, the monster trembled, its body instantly going stiff.

Forcing his rigid legs to shuffle sideways, Fu Qian barely dodged the pounce.

The monster made no further move after it landed. Instead, it stared blankly at the space behind Fu Qian.

Nailed it! Sister Ox-Head is awesome!

Fortunately, this thing had kept its head; otherwise, this would have been really tricky.

Evidently, Sister Ox-Head's power was exceptionally bizarre; even this creature wasn't immune.

Taking a deep breath, Fu Qian kept his eyes on the monster while trying his hardest to regain control of his body.

A moment later, the monster raised both arms to clamp the sides of its own face and let out a roar.

He had to admit, it sounded much better than its earlier cries.

Simultaneously, identical, uniform roars echoed across a large area around them.

Fu Qian could easily picture those people struggling to rip their own heads off.

However, arm strength was limited. Tearing a head off raw like that was still quite difficult.

Crack!

As it turned out, the six-legged monster was no ordinary person.

With a spray of blood, the roar came to an abrupt halt.

It actually ripped its head clean off its neck and hoisted it high with both hands.

Being so close, Fu Qian saw it perfectly.

Ravaged by that unimaginable, monstrous strength, the entire head was severely deformed, looking like a deflated basketball.

More importantly, right at the severed stump of the neck, there appeared to be another brain, snow-white in color.

As he puzzled over this, the "brain" trembled and unfurled in every direction.

It wasn't a brain at all. The reason it looked like it had a grooved structure was because it was formed by over twenty curved bones clustered together.

Now, these deformed bones had spread out like a peacock's tail, swaying erratically left and right as they struggled to break free of the control.

Unfortunately, it seemed to be of no use. The head cradled in its hands began to roar again, at an even higher decibel than before.

Ah!

Because of Fu Qian's earlier warning, Liu Yi had barely dared to look at anything other than this monster the entire time.

If the sight of the head being ripped off had been grotesque and bloody, the subsequent blooming of the "brain" was an absolutely devastating blow.

She let out a shriek, collapsed to her knees, and started dry heaving.

"Fuck!"

Black T-Shirt beside her was faring slightly better, having faced it at close range earlier, but even they couldn't help cursing out loud at the scene unfolding before them.

"Go!"

Giving the two no time to collect themselves, Fu Qian decided to take the lead, rushing straight toward the library.

There was no guarantee Sister Ox-Head could trap the thing; they couldn't afford to waste a single second.

As it turned out, human potential was limitless.

Seeing Fu Qian take off, not only did Black T-Shirt follow at once, but even Liu Yi struggled to her feet.

The two of them even kept Fu Qian's instructions firmly in mind, shielding their vision and refusing to look over at Sister Ox-Head.

Soon enough, Fu Qian reached the steps in front of the library.

From this position, he could see that the interior was completely empty; there wasn't a single person in sight.

Sister Ox-Head's drawing power was terrifying to this degree.

Glancing at the floor plan by the entrance, Fu Qian didn't linger, heading straight upstairs.

An incomprehensible crisis was undoubtedly brewing in the thick fog outside. Although everyone had been called out for now, there was absolutely no telling what would happen next.

A place like the reading room was far too open; it wasn't a suitable hiding spot at all.

On the other hand, if things spiraled out of control later, escaping from the higher floors would be a problem.

Recalling the floor plan from earlier, Fu Qian quickly found the office area on the fourth floor.

Testing the doors in the corridor at top speed, Fu Qian found one that was unlocked and pushed his way inside.

Honestly, it wouldn't have mattered if they were all locked. Picking a lock with a hairpin or a steel wire was a piece of cake for him.

At that moment, Liu Yi and Black T-Shirt arrived almost simultaneously.

Fu Qian didn't speak. He just motioned for the two of them to enter the room before shutting the door behind them.

Turning around, Fu Qian noticed that their breathing was still quite steady.

The distance wasn't exactly short, and climbing four flights of stairs in one breath without even panting heavily was completely beyond the fitness level of a normal college student.

It could only mean that these two were also becoming a bit abnormal.

Just like himself.

"Did that thing follow us?"

Liu Yi instinctively glanced behind her as she asked Black T-Shirt in fearful uncertainty.

"It shouldn't have. I closed the glass doors on the first floor when I came in."

The latter shook their head.

"If it breaks in, the shattering glass will definitely make a sound."

"That's good!"

Liu Yi let out a long sigh of relief.

"What's your name?"

The next moment, staring expressionlessly at Black T-Shirt, Fu Qian suddenly asked.
