Are you two honest-looking folks out to join the fun too?
Seeing the Torrance couple, Fu Qian's first reaction wasn't relief at finding help, but a subconscious throb of a headache.
Given the eerie environment, seeing these two blocking the way in this state made it hard to be optimistic.
It did, however, explain why Violetta hadn't made a peep after wandering off.
At this moment, she was staring at the Torrance couple with naked curiosity, looking as if she hadn't even noticed that Mister Doctor had fallen behind.
"Hello, Violetta."
Under Violetta's scrutiny, Torrance offered a gentle greeting, his smile absolutely impeccable.
"Hello, Mister Torrance."
Before Violetta could answer, Fu Qian took two steps forward and stood beside her.
The Torrance couple turned their heads in unison at the sound of his voice, and Mrs. Torrance politely returned the greeting.
Taking advantage of the moment, Fu Qian swiftly sized them up.
The couple still wore the same clothes from before. Their hair and makeup were meticulous, hardly looking as though they were settling in to rest.
Aside from that, however, there wasn't anything particularly out of the ordinary.
The only slightly strange detail was that Mister Torrance's clearly expensive suit jacket was wrapped rather roughly around their hands.
To be precise, it was wrapped tightly around his and Mrs. Torrance's clasped hands.
Yes, despite being an old married couple, they were currently holding hands while standing on opposite sides of the Corridor, looking simultaneously intimate and bizarre.
As a result, the Corridor was completely blocked.
"You two haven't rested yet?"
Fu Qian sighed, glancing to the side as he asked.
To the couple's left, a room door stood wide open, their luggage sitting inside untouched.
Fu Qian had a good memory. After confirming that the room number matched, he knew for a fact that this was the couple's room.
Unfortunately, even with the door open, the Corridor was far too narrow. Given how far back the couple was standing, detouring through the room to bypass them was impossible.
The only way through was to get the couple to step aside.
"Not yet. We've run into a bit of a problem."
Torrance looked thoroughly displeased as he pointed into the room.
"The hotel must have made a mistake. Someone is already staying in this room."
Someone's in the room? So you decided to come out and block the hallway?
Fu Qian peered inside again but couldn't spot a single shadow, let alone a person.
"Why not ask the hotel to change your room?"
Fu Qian withdrew his gaze, his tone casual.
"That's a very difficult problem to solve. The Grady family is already staying in there, so where are we supposed to sleep?"
Torrance acted as though he hadn't even heard Fu Qian's suggestion. He rubbed his chin with his right hand, frowning in deep thought, while Mrs. Torrance stood beside him with an equally worried expression.
"You can figure that out later, but could you step aside and let us pass first?"
Fu Qian continued to test the waters.
"If we can't get into the room, we'll just have to stay here. I've been driving all day, and I'm exhausted."
Unfortunately, his only answer was Torrance muttering to himself.
Sure enough, they only look normal!
Fu Qian sighed inwardly, deciding not to startle the two of them any further.
Their mental states were clearly off, completely fixated on who the room belonged to.
It seemed that unless the issue inside was resolved, the couple wasn't going to budge.
And if he just forced his way through, there was no telling what unpredictable changes might occur.
"I'll go have a chat with them."
"Is that alright? We don't want to offend them."
Torrance finally reacted, exchanging a look with his wife.
"It's fine. I'm a very polite person."
Fu Qian signaled for them not to worry before turning back to instruct Violetta.
"Wait here for me for a moment."
"Okay."
The latter didn't seem to notice anything unusual, looking entirely eager for Fu Qian's upcoming negotiation.
And so, under the gaze of all three, Fu Qian strode right into the room before them.
It was a size larger than his own room, but the entire space was visible at a glance.
After sweeping his eyes around, Fu Qian found that let alone a person, there wasn't even a single hair to be seen.
He did spot the name Grady, however, right on a painting hanging above the head of the bed.
The painting depicted four anthropomorphic rabbits dressed in formal attire.
Two adults and two children stood in various poses, presenting a picture of perfect harmony.
By rabbit standards, they were quite good-looking.
Fu Qian carefully studied the painting, in no rush to reach out and touch it.
As he observed it, only a few seconds passed before the entire room underwent a rapid change.
At some unknown point, the four humanoid rabbits from the painting had appeared around him, all maintaining their painted postures.
They had the height and build of human beings, but without exception, they all sported long, upright ears.
Sitting not far from Fu Qian, the one dressed most formally looked up at him.
"Who are you? Do you know where you are?"
What a hostile tone!
Moreover, despite it being a rabbit's face, he could still clearly make out the stern emotion on it.
Silently evaluating his own state, Fu Qian had a feeling that he would very soon lose the awareness that this was a rabbit's face at all.
"I don't."
Facing the interrogation, Fu Qian shook his head.
He had already found the reason why the Torrance couple was acting that way.
And it was obvious that he was starting to be affected too. He needed to resolve this quickly.
"Mr. Grady, I know the four of you have deep feelings for this place, but there is a married couple out there in desperate need of some intimacy. They've even paid for the room. Could you step out for a bit?"
"What on earth are you talking about!"
On the other side, the beautiful rabbit in a long dress shrieked, covering the ears of one of the little rabbits.
"I'm going to have to ask you to leave, just like that couple!"
Mr. Grady abruptly stood up.
"Looks like there's no room for negotiation!"
Fu Qian said without the slightest surprise, reaching a hand into his pocket.
The next moment, he pulled out a perfectly round, juicy Green Apple.
This was the one he had caught from the witch earlier. Not long ago, he had used another one to blow up a biscuit wall.
"This thing is rich in vitamins and glucose. It can effectively promote the growth and development of rabbits."
Fu Qian said, spinning the Apple around in the palm of his hand.
"Though the taste might be a little sour, it even contains carotene!"
"What are you trying to do? Are you crazy!"
Mr. Grady seemed to know exactly how deadly this Apple was, his tone shifting drastically.
"Nothing much. Just treating you to something delicious."
Wasting no more time, Fu Qian tossed the Green Apple straight up above his head.
Screams erupted all around, and Fu Qian could even distinguish Mrs. Torrance's voice among them from outside.
But the family of four rabbits in front of him moved even faster. In the blink of an eye, Mr. Grady shielded his family and fled outward.
Smack!
Fu Qian caught the falling Apple with as gentle a force as possible.
He still couldn't actually detonate it. If the inside turned into ruins, the Torrance couple would probably be even less willing to move in.
By this time, the rabbit family had completely vanished, and Fu Qian returned to the doorway.
"I've checked. They walked into the wrong place and were very willing to give up the room. You two can go inside now."
"This..."
Torrance was still slightly hesitant, but his wife was already marching impatiently into the room, tugging him so hard he almost tripped.
"Th-thank you!"
"You're welcome."
