Chapter 335: Fool's Cage (End)

"It definitely won't be a one!"

Mousse answered Fu Qian's question almost subconsciously.

Yet for some reason, she felt inexplicably unsure the moment she said it.

"Let's hope you're right."

Fu Qian didn't say anything else, merely watching her with a smile.

Under her slightly grave gaze, he tossed the Die without hesitation.

As the Die hit the ground and began to spin, a Tide of Spirituality seemed to surge, continuously battering against their minds.

A few seconds later, the Die came to a stop.

A one!

Why was it a one?

How could it be a one?

How could it possibly be a one!

Had Mr. Fu fallen for it too? Or...

"This result really is a bit confusing!"

Fu Qian didn't look at her; he just bent down and picked up the Die.

"I..."

Fu Qian's words only deepened her shock. Mousse tried to speak, but an intense sense of powerlessness swallowed her up.

The scene before her was mercilessly battering her convictions, obliterating her understanding of everything.

Fu Qian stayed silent, letting her quietly wage her internal battle.

"So was I wrong?"

After a long silence, she finally spoke.

"That's right, you were wrong. Your very existence is a mistake."

But she hadn't waited for Fu Qian to answer. Her tone shifted as she asked and answered her own question.

"Impossible! If I'm wrong, then everything is wrong. You're clearly wrong too!"

"Perhaps, but wrong is wrong."

After this chaotic back-and-forth, she stared down at the Die in Fu Qian's hand and let out a long sigh.

It seemed Su Gao had regained dominance.

The next moment, she numbly reached out, took it from him, and rubbed it in her palm.

"Mr. Fu, I'm so lost."

"I still can't remember the exact details of the fairy tale."

Su Gao held out a hand, as if cupping spilled moonlight.

"But I suddenly really like that format—where you know there's a happy ending, and you know it will definitely happen."

Her tone carried an indescribable longing.

'That just shows the author of the fairy tale—your Mother—hasn't picked up any bad habits yet, like writing open endings.'

Listening to her mutterings, Fu Qian thought to himself.

"You're right. Proving you aren't in a dream is difficult. So I thought, why couldn't I be in a fairy tale?"

"Seven Snow Whites looking for their Mother... Do you know the best part about being in a fairy tale?"

Su Gao let out a laugh that carried an inexplicable sense of relief.

"It's knowing that all your hard work won't be in vain!"

'Hm?'

Fu Qian frowned, faintly sensing that something was wrong.

The next moment, she raised her other hand.

In her palm, after flipping over one last time, the Die stopped with the one facing up.

The tenth time!

She had used the Hidden Thread again!

Fu Qian took a sharp breath, realizing he had still underestimated her resolve.

"You're Mousse? You always were?"

'Classmate Su Gao, you're a bit too stubborn!'

That chaotic conversation just now had merely been a performance for his benefit.

Its only purpose was to make him drop his guard so she could take back the Die.

Him rolling a one had been shocking, but it hadn't shattered her into total confusion.

Instead, it had made her determined to use the Hidden Thread to verify it one more time.

She was willing to risk psychological parasitism, stubbornly pursuing an answer to the very end.

And to minimize the chance of being stopped, she had even deliberately distracted him with her other hand.

'To think that I, Fu Qian, would see such a day!'

Fu Qian looked up at the sky and sighed deeply.

"Yeah."

The person across from him didn't even look up. She just stared blankly at the one in her palm, muttering to herself.

"So I really was wrong..."

"I'm sorry, I still—"

Her voice came to an abrupt halt. Fu Qian looked up and saw what appeared to be countless illusory threads spreading outward from the Die in her hand.

The negative effects of the Hidden Thread had triggered.

At the same time, the sky outside suddenly darkened.

The reflected moon overhead rapidly dimmed within seconds, shrinking into a rust-colored lump.

In contrast, the light radiating from Su Gao surged brilliantly, becoming too bright to look at directly.

'She really is popular!'

'In less than ten seconds, my mission is probably going to fail.'

Watching this scene unfold, Fu Qian just shook his head at first.

"But—"

Then he snorted.

"Did I agree to this?"

Flesh and blood flew!

The next moment, he reached out without hesitation, grabbing for the Die in Su Gao's hand.

Instantly, hundreds of invisible blades slashed across his arm.

The wounds continuously split open and stitched shut. By the time Fu Qian's hand clamped down on the Die, gleaming white bone was already exposed.

But he still grasped the Die with this skeletal claw.

Just as he tried to pull it away, Su Gao's hand clamped down tight, gripping with surprising force.

"I understand. How could I take it for nothing?"

Fu Qian seemed to have anticipated this. He immediately reached out with his other hand.

However, the target of this hand wasn't the Die, but Su Gao's mouth.

Pinched between two fingers was a crystalline, pale-yellow cube, roughly the same size as the Die.

This was the item Violetta had retrieved from the Mouth of Truth—the sugar cube made by the Snow Whites' Mother.

While checking his inventory earlier, Fu Qian had found this item, which he hadn't yet had a chance to use.

"I can actually imagine the circumstances under which this was made, so it absolutely cannot go to waste."

The next moment, he shoved the foul-smelling sugar cube right into Su Gao's mouth.

"Be a good girl. Have some candy."

The instant the sugar cube entered her mouth, an uncontrollable tremor washed over Su Gao.

Seizing the opportunity, Fu Qian finally wrenched the Die free, completing the exchange.

'How truly interesting!'

Having done all this, Fu Qian looked down at his prize.

The Die in his hand was clearly much more frantic than before, nearly thrashing out of his grip.

But at the same time, it gave off a strange feeling—as if he could use it to transmit his intent to Su Gao.

'Has the psychological parasitism already finished?'

Fu Qian marveled. Without holding back, he sent an intent straight through it—'Take a bite!'

And the dazed Su Gao standing before him actually chewed twice in response.

Amidst the increasingly pungent stench, a trace of sweet fragrance seemed to drift out.

Along with her action, waves of vitality gushed forth from the depths of her near-collapsed soul.

"Now, you are one!"

Fu Qian pantomimed firing a gun and recited a line in a deep voice.

He wasn't sure how much the sugar from Su Gao's Mother could awaken.

Or if it could break the dimensional wall and release Violetta and the others.

But it was obvious that a bloody struggle was taking place inside the body before him.

A soul could be annihilated at any moment, leaving behind nothing but a walking corpse.

'The Tribulation Transcending has begun. The rest is up to you.'

Fu Qian took two steps back.

'Of course, there is one more thing I can do.'

Glancing down at the cuts on his ulna, he took another deep breath.

The next moment, a bloody maw opened on Fu Qian's chest, lined with hideous, jagged fangs.

As if sensing danger, the Die in his hand thrashed even more violently.

Unfortunately for it, Fu Qian was entirely unmoved. He casually tossed it into his chest, then clamped the jaws shut.

'Fly free, swallow!'

[Mission accomplished. Containment of 3-3119 successful.]
