"Then let's go together."

Takagi said he needed to find a doctor. Fu Qian glanced at Su Gao, and when she gave no reaction, he took the initiative to speak.

To an ordinary person, his response was perfectly logical.

They had just agreed to stick together; leaving the moment someone got hurt would be rude.

At the same time, he had to consider Violeta's feelings. The lady clearly didn't want to stay much longer, so he had made sure to consult her first.

In the end, the young lady showed her excellent breeding and raised no objections.

That, however, was only how an ordinary person would see it.

To the Transcendent secretly influencing Classmate Takagi, the exchange read entirely differently:

Faced with the sudden incident, Violeta had grown alert. Fu Qian had carefully consulted her, and only after gaining her tacit approval did he choose to stay.

Whether it was or wasn't, this level of caution was just basic competence.

The accident had undoubtedly attracted a lot of attention. By now, event staff had hurried over to carefully check on Takagi's injuries.

After asking for some gauze to press against the wound, Takagi politely declined their offer to escort him for treatment. He asked for the location of the nearest hospital and insisted on going himself.

Despite the series of mishaps, he had miraculously shaken off his earlier gloom. He didn't look the least bit disheveled now; if anything, he seemed downright radiant.

Kisaragi Kana also seemed to finally remember her duties as a girlfriend, anxiously fussing over his well-being every step of the way.

Faced with this touching scene of ordinary romance, Fu Qian and Su Gao simply followed behind in silence.

...

Though called a hospital, it was essentially just a small private clinic. Fortunately, Takagi's injuries weren't serious to begin with.

The drowsy doctor gave him a brief check, making quick work of cleaning and bandaging the wound.

Of course, if he hadn't spent the whole time sneaking peeks through his glasses at the sliver of pale skin at Kisaragi Kana's neckline, he could have been even faster.

Honestly, on pure physical features alone, Kisaragi Kana was still slightly inferior even to Su Gao's Violeta persona.

And yet, that bizarre, intrinsic charm of hers simply couldn't be concealed, no matter how low of a profile she kept.

The doctor's overly intense gaze even made Kisaragi Kana a little uncomfortable.

"Doctor Yamagata."

Taking it all in, Takagi glanced at the man's name tag as the doctor pulled off his gloves, and suddenly spoke up.

"What is it?"

Doctor Yamagata, who was still peeking, looked up with a guilty start.

But before he could react, Takagi reached out and snatched the gold-rimmed glasses right off his face.

Snap!

Without breaking eye contact, Takagi casually snapped the glasses in two, staring at the doctor with a smile.

"It seems you don't need these. They only interfere with your work."

...

Suddenly realizing what Takagi meant, Doctor Yamagata—who had been about to flare up in anger—instantly flushed red, left completely speechless.

"Thank you for the treatment."

Takagi scoffed, tossing out his thanks with a casual wave of his hand.

The broken glasses traced a parabola through the air and dropped neatly into the nearby trash can.

"Takagi..."

Taken aback by this sudden shift, Kisaragi Kana looked at her fiercely protective boyfriend, visibly moved.

"Let's go."

Takagi didn't say anything more. He pressed a hand to her shoulder, his movements suave and unhurried.

"Okay!"

Kisaragi Kana nodded, perfectly docile.

"Mister Dancy, Ms. Violeta, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting."

Takagi then looked at Fu Qian and Su Gao, apologizing in all seriousness.

"It's no problem."

Playing the polite spectator, Fu Qian watched this series of events unfold with great interest.

It was still hard to tell whether the scene in front of him was the result of an external influence.

But without a doubt, Brother Takagi was increasingly looking the part of a protagonist. The gauze on his neck couldn't mask his imposing aura in the slightest.

"Huh?"

Just as Fu Qian obligingly stood up alongside Su Gao, Takagi, who had already reached the door, unexpectedly stopped in his tracks.

"What's wrong?"

Kisaragi Kana asked in confusion.

"Something's not right."

Takagi shook his head slightly and actually turned back inside.

Doctor Yamagata had been staring down at the desk the whole time since the dressing down, looking as if he were deeply reflecting on his mistakes.

Despite this humble posture, Takagi didn't say a word. He simply grabbed the man by the collar and forcefully yanked his head up.

"Don't—"

Thinking her boyfriend was still unwilling to let the matter drop, Kisaragi Kana subconsciously tried to stop him. But a moment later, she noticed that Yamagata's face didn't look right.

The face that had been flushed red with embarrassment a moment ago was now as pale as paper. Massive beads of sweat clung to his skin, and his head slumped weakly.

"It looks like a heart attack."

Takagi calmly assessed the situation as he gently laid the man down, then sprinted out the door.

Fortunately, they were in a clinic. A crowd of doctors and nurses soon rushed in.

After confirming it really was a heart attack, they quickly wheeled him away for emergency treatment.

What kind of overpowered-protagonist plotline was this!

Watching as the dust settled and the doctors and nurses thanked Takagi incessantly, Fu Qian sighed deeply to himself.

It was a good thing Brother Takagi hadn't whipped out a Golden Needle on the spot or something.

Yamagata's earlier behavior might be debatable, but there was a ninety-nine percent chance this sudden attack involved Transcendent elements.

Of course, that didn't mean someone was casting spells from afar to literally beat poor Doctor Yamagata into a heart attack. If that were the case, he and Su Gao would have noticed.

In fact, Yamagata's medical episode had presented very naturally. He looked exactly like a man caught red-handed whose blood pressure had suddenly skyrocketed out of control.

Fu Qian had essentially monitored the entire process, and Su Gao had undoubtedly done the same.

If Takagi hadn't noticed when he did, Fu Qian knew Su Gao well enough to suspect she would have found an excuse to send a nurse in to check on him.

So as a whole, the event looked more like Brother Takagi was blessed by luck, receiving a gift of fate.

His performance over the past few minutes was undeniably that of a main character. The shadow brought on by his lack of notoriety had completely scattered in the wind.

Of course, the most important outcome was that he and Su Gao had been successfully delayed here for another twenty minutes.

The person behind the scenes might not dare make a direct move against the two of them, but they were certainly pulling all sorts of little tricks.

"Fate is truly wonderful. It feels like we have a special affinity for this place."

Fu Qian looked at Su Gao, signaling with his eyes that their hidden opponent really seemed eager to clash with them.

"Indeed. If he had been discovered any later, it might have been dangerous."

Su Gao nodded slightly, saying no more.

However, despite her apparent agreement, Fu Qian knew her well enough to recognize that she absolutely loathed dragging ordinary people into Transcendent incidents.

The person in the dark hadn't dared to attack the two of them directly, but they had still managed to incur Su Gao's displeasure.
