It was a skill too overbearing for discreet use, but it might work miracles on certain special occasions.
Marveling at the unpredictability of worldly affairs, Fu Qian quickly evaluated his first reward.
Given that it was a new effect of his Commandment Residue, its safety shouldn't be a problem. And so—
Feeling the new addition in his consciousness, Fu Qian snapped his fingers and activated it without hesitation.
In theory, the Warehouse was a rather special existence. He wondered if the arrival of the Tyrant would trigger any unusual reactions.
A strange sensation of self-expansion swept over him. In less than half a second, Fu Qian's line of sight elevated significantly.
At the same time, however, a continuous series of ripping sounds filled his ears.
Realizing what had happened, Fu Qian looked down to find both his shirt and pants torn to shreds.
...Sure enough, a man shouldn't let his ego swell too much, should he?
And if he went out looking like this, it would truly tarnish the prestigious reputation of his Dayun Mingwang persona.
But what was done was done... Fu Qian turned his attention back to the changes in his body.
In the Resplendent Tyrant state, it was far more than just his body expanding to over two meters tall.
Although there were no flashy visual effects, Fu Qian could clearly feel layers of indescribable, invisible ripples swirling around him.
Was this the manifestation of "I am the will of heaven"? Constantly warping the surroundings, forcing all existence to submit?
Overbearing!
Fu Qian stood with his hands behind his back, striking a posture of looking down upon the world.
Unfortunately, his tattered pants slightly diminished this majestic aura.
Other than that, whether it was the Warehouse beneath his feet or the table and chairs beside him, nothing seemed to react in the slightest.
Clearly, whether it was mindless or not, the Warehouse possessed a high status, remaining as steady as Mount Tai in the face of a mere Tyrant.
This was likely why he hadn't been stopped earlier.
Next time, he would test it somewhere slightly less high-end, and he couldn't forget to simultaneously conjure his bone armor.
Having finished practicing the skill, Fu Qian summarized his findings and dispelled the effect.
As his body shrank back down, he began to check his special reward.
[Name: Miniature Universe Aberrant Color]
[Type: Special Item]
[An old Lantern that cannot be lit or even opened. A streak of Distorted Colors reflecting the eternal brilliance of the universe coils inside its belly, giving off a faint glow.
When used, tap it three times in succession. The disturbed Distorted Colors will cause the Lantern's brightness to rapidly surge, randomly projecting the phantom of an exalted Cosmic Deity. The authority of the old ones lingers upon it, as does the divine might of the old ones.
After each use, it will slumber for a week, during which it cannot be disturbed again.]
[Note: A sublimity from the depths of the universe, helping one recognize their own insignificance.]
This... was rather impressive!
The phantom of a Cosmic Deity? Knock three times to summon a genie and make a wish?
It was hard to imagine such a beautiful scenario. The description made it clear that the divine might of the old ones still remained, so it most likely wouldn't be easy to communicate with. Furthermore, the summons were completely random and couldn't be specified.
But even so, it was still far too powerful—a Deity's phantom possessing authority.
Given the nature of this transcendent world, he felt that absolutely anything could happen after using it.
Moreover, the title 'Cosmic Deity' was quite interesting. Did it correspond to native Deities?
It was hard to say. However, if he found a suitable projection room, he could play it like a slideshow to learn a bit more.
Also, why did the shape of this thing look so familiar?
Fu Qian examined the item in his hands.
A black cylinder with a round belly, not particularly large. If he wasn't mistaken, it was clearly produced by the same manufacturer as the Death-Gazing Plaque he had drawn, except it lacked that pile of pink eyeballs inside.
Taking their place was a faint radiance of indescribable color drifting within. At a glance, it looked somewhat similar to 1-105, which he had studied previously.
Was this wool plucked from Blazing Rainbow? A reward for his outstanding performance?
Fu Qian had a sudden moment of realization.
It made sense. He just didn't know—if he knocked on it right now, would that specific entity materialize directly and cleave him with a sword?
The moment the thought arose, Fu Qian, always eager to court death, naturally reached out his hand.
Unfortunately, he soon discovered a formless restriction preventing him from striking it.
So this couldn't be used here?
Fu Qian understood instantly.
It seemed that while the Warehouse permitted the Tyrant's arrival, the scale of a Deity's phantom was still a bit too much.
Very well. It looked like his slideshow study plan would have to be put on hold.
With a hint of regret, Fu Qian withdrew his hand and placed the Lantern on the nearby table.
Although the process of this trip had been somewhat perilous, the harvest was remarkably abundant.
Both rewards were clearly the kind that could come in handy at special moments. But most importantly, he had learned an honorific name: Blazing Rainbow.
Facing an entity with such glaring malice and immense threat, simply taking a beating passively wouldn't do. Next, it was time to activate his intelligence network and figure out exactly who or what this being was.
[Today's work has been completed. You may now leave the Warehouse. Weekly work progress: 1/4]
Amidst the familiar notification chime, Fu Qian grabbed the Emissary Mask and put it on his face.
Of course, this prompt—which had never evoked any feelings in the past—now inevitably stirred a sense of melancholy in his heart.
He used to think having three days off a week was unbeatable, but what kind of divine lifestyle was working just once a month!
...
"Mister Fang, are you... embarking on another operation?"
Having donned the Custom Trench Coat once again, Fu Qian successfully left Eldest Miss Wen staring at him in uncertainty.
Seeing the Great Wheel Wisdom King appear again, her first reaction was that Shangjing was about to be swept by another storm of blood and rain.
"You're in the First Echelon below the Demigod Realm now, at the very least. What are you so nervous about?"
He responded with a look of disdain.
This was his third day working as a bodyguard here. Considering the presence of a powerhouse like him, Eldest Miss Wen was digesting her power with absolute ease.
Not only was her condition visibly stable, but the psychological impact was subtle and imperceptible, reaching a point where even she sometimes couldn't easily detect it.
Because of her abilities, the joy of this harvest was smoothly transmitted to everyone, inside and out.
Even the maid who cleaned Fu Qian's room moved with a light step and a radiant brow.
Eldest Miss Wen's only problem was that she still lacked the self-awareness of an expert.
Perhaps having a breathtakingly talented individual like Dayun Mingwang by her side put too much pressure on her?
That wasn't entirely unreasonable, though it really wasn't necessary. He had always been one to oppress the masses.
"True... I'm just not quite used to it yet."
Wen Li had always been brave enough to admit her mistakes, and she immediately offered an embarrassed smile.
"Do you need me to prepare a mask for you?"
She was quite enthusiastic about this whole mask business; he had no doubt she had a stockpile on hand right now.
"Not for now."
Fu Qian declined the kind offer. He casually lifted a corner of his trench coat, revealing the tattered pant leg underneath.
"I just got a little too puffed up earlier."
