Endless Debt

Chapter 1451 - 43: Earthly Celestial Kingdom

"Assassinate... Nesanel?"

The legislators murmured the proposal, and before they could ponder its implications, a profound chill spread from within them.

The woman chuckled softly, as if she’d heard an amusing joke, "Kill him? The moment we draw our swords against Nesanel, it means we’re declaring total war on the Order Bureau!"

The Ancestral Council knew well the might of the Order Bureau, and even after operating clandestinely for so many years, they still didn’t believe they had the capacity to challenge the Order Bureau.

"Besides, do you think Nesanel will meekly let us kill him?" the woman further questioned, "He’s a Seeker of Glory, and even if we have a chance, once a battle starts in the Land of Secrets, it means everything we’ve built over the years will be destroyed by the Ether storm!"

"I know, of course I know."

The voice approached, accompanied by clear footsteps, stepping out of the shadows to appear before the legislators.

The man wore a pitch-black robe, his body completely shrouded, almost merging with the shadows, with short brown hair and scarlet eyes set like jewels in his gaze.

A faint scent of blood lingered in the air, as if the man’s collar was soaked with blood, and if squeezed, would only drip with scarlet juice.

The man proposed, "Since that’s the case, can’t we just exile Nesanel from this realm?"

"Exile from this realm? What do you mean, Jos?" the woman queried.

"Oh, you’re not aware of this intel," Jos realized the woman’s confusion and muttered to himself, "Yes, that makes sense, it’s something the Order Bureau concocted."

He cleared his throat, speaking loudly, "It’s simple, here within the Supreme Hub, there are several Ether Vortex Points gathered together, which you’ve fashioned into an Ether furnace, providing endless energy for the Aurora Path.

All we need to do is lure Nesanel to the Ether Vortex Point, then find a way to enhance the ether concentration of the Vortex Point until it reaches critical mass, intersecting and overlapping with the Ethereal Realm."

Jos gestured with both hands, smiling as he envisioned the hunt for Nesanel.

"We don’t even need to completely open the two realms; just being at the edge of the overlap point will allow us to hunt Nesanel in a clean arena, where any rampant Ether storm will be directly channeled into the Ethereal Realm without affecting the Material Realm."

"Ethereal Realm..."

The woman murmured, as the ether concentration rose, not only did the Order Bureau notice changes in the world, but the All Secrets Order too launched investigations, hypothesizing the existence of the Ethereal Realm, though it was never directly observed.

Different factions have different interests, leading to differing research directions, and clearly the Ancestral Council wouldn’t concern themselves with the Ethereal Realm, which held no promise for their longevity, though they weren’t entirely ignorant of it.

"Are you sure?" the woman asked.

"I’m sure, and besides, you have no other options but to trust me, right?"

Jos looked utterly confident, "The Order Bureau already suspects you, even if you stay quiet and do nothing, do you think you can pass Nesanel’s scrutiny? Would you dare to face Nesanel head-on and assert the independence of the All Secrets Order?"

The woman said, "We don’t want to be embroiled in any conflict..."

"No, no, no, my dear friends, when you collaborated with the Rebellious Royal Court, you were already swept into conflicts by your own desires," Jos rested a hand on the woman’s shoulder, circling around her, "How can you be so selfish as to think you can stay uninvolved?"

"Your split with the Order Bureau is inevitable, now our task is to strive for the greatest benefit."

Jos whispered in her ear, "Rest assured, we won’t abandon any allies. Once you draw the attention of the Order Bureau, the Rebellious Royal Court will strike, and we’ll march towards Oubos, alongside the Kagader Empire. We’ll attack on both fronts, swallowing that city, just like during the Fall of the Holy City."

The woman’s face turned ashen, speechless; she wasn’t shocked by Jos’s words, for she’d heard similar rhetoric many times before. What truly moved her, what shook all the legislators, was the figure standing in the shadows.

The shadow before her was still pitch-black, and her vision could not discern any presence, nor could her ears detect any sounds, and even ether perception found no abnormality, yet instinctively she sensed someone standing there, quietly observing everyone.

Like a hidden panther, ready to break cover at any moment and sink its teeth into someone’s throat.

The woman knew who it was, that Devil almost forgotten by the world, lurking in the shadows.

"I know this decision is tough, but consider your ideal society."

Jos raised his head, shouting towards the legislators in the hive, "You wield extraordinary power, you’re meant to be Celestial Gods, yet you’re bound by rules to walk alongside mortals."

His voice grew hoarse, clenching his fist tightly, "Under the supremacy of the Condensers, human civilization will make a leap forward, won’t it?"

The legislators remained silent, as staunch advocates of the supremacy of Condensers, they’d longed to emerge from the shadows to rule the world, integrating Ethereum Technology completely into society, but over the years, they’d been constrained by the Order Bureau.
