"Sorry, Deputy Director," Jiru shouted, "Reformation always comes at the cost of blood!"
"What kind of reformation is this? It’s simply betrayal driven by desire!"
Nesanel clenched his fists, pounding the ground forcefully, and the alarming tremor swiftly spread. The ice surface beneath suddenly cracked, and the shock wave, carrying debris, lifted tons of snow dust.
"Betraying the Order Bureau?" Jiru appeared like a specter behind Nesanel, "You are the real bastards holding yourselves above everyone else!"
Jiru once doubted the ideology of the Earthly Celestial Kingdom, but he loathed the Order Bureau’s rule through sheer power even more. This stubborn group of madmen never allowed dissent to exist; if only they weren’t so rigid, everything might have been different.
The Condensers’ supremacy would expand, and Condensers wouldn’t have to hide in the shadows anymore. Certain areas would move towards glory under the guidance of Extraordinary Power.
Jiru had seen such a world in a dream, where Condensers built city after city akin to the Land of Secrets, and everyone within the city would attain Undying Body.
That would be a beautiful future.
"No, I meant, you betrayed humanity."
Nesanel growled as he collided with Jiru, the dense ether intertwined like water and fire.
Jiru’s left fist shot out like thunder, quickly targeting Nesanel. Nesanel sidestepped to dodge it, swiftly countering with a fierce right hook, striking Jiru heavily in the waist and abdomen. Despite Secret Energy·Eternal Body Protection, Jiru’s body bent oddly, like a tree about to be felled.
"You’re so short-sighted. What do you think the consequence is for misusing ether?"
Nesanel questioned as he threw his punch, "Is it a bright future with continuous innovations in Ethereum Technology? Or an apocalypse where an Ethereal Vortex Point shreds reality apart!"
Jiru felt the pain, but it was a flaw he intentionally exposed. He suddenly got close, slipping into Nesanel’s broad embrace, swiftly following with a right straight punch, hitting Nesanel’s chest hard.
Then... punch after punch!
Jiru unleashed a burst of explosive fist strikes like a storm, each strike carrying significant force, infused with the Power of the Extreme Realm.
Nesanel’s chest visibly sank, flesh ruptured, but what’s flowing wasn’t blood; it was pure ether. His towering figure kept retreating, seemingly about to be completely knocked down.
Jos seemed to glimpse the dawn of victory, once again swinging the Painful Dagger materialized into being, a blend of Void Spirit School and Illusion Creation School, resulting in a grotesque downpour.
Jiru shouted, as if trying to vent all his fear, unease, and anger from the bottom of his heart. He leaped on the spot, attempting to use this last heavy punch to completely collapse Nesanel. But suddenly, he found the retreating figure stopped, with the heel planted into the ground like an anchor, unable to retreat further.
Pure ether scattered, and Nesanel’s leaning back became taut like a fully drawn bow, poised to release a heavy punch that shot out like a cannonball.
Fist collided with fist, and Jiru fell apart.
First came a fleeting intense pain, and then Jiru lost sensation of his chest. Nesanel inhaled flame, gripping his throat tightly, skillfully locking his joints, and firmly controlling Jiru in front of him. Few knew that Nesanel was a master of hand-to-hand combat.
Enveloped by the belated evilly green Painful Dagger.
Jiru felt pierced by countless arrows, and the horrific images of the past came one after another, his original senses and cognition were slowly distorted. He turned his head, finding his entire arm abstracting, like a broken ink wash, bending into a vast curve, his blood and flesh connecting to his body began to become slender, as if about to sever.
This was no illusion, but a real occurrence.
Nesanel endured the baptism of the Painful Dagger, pressing Jiru to kneel beneath him, his burning hand chopping continuously at Jiru’s arm, then locking the joint and twisting, pulling it towards an inhuman angle.
The extreme flames overlapped the power of the Seeker of Glory, delivering repeated blows, and ultimately, accompanied by a terrifying sound, Jiru’s immobile shell shattered. When he snapped back from the influence of the Painful Dagger, he saw his entire arm thrown high, heavily crashing onto the cracked ice surface.
Jiru’s mind was blank, and soon a downward strike pierced through his head, embedding it completely into the ice surface, causing the surrounding hundred meters of ice to crumble as well.
Amidst the dense snow dust, Nesanel breathed heavily, appearing before everyone’s eyes. He used the blood in his palm to tidy his messy hair, styling it neatly once more.
"Deputy Director... short-sightedness is unavoidable, after all..."
The faint voice resounded from beneath the shattered ice, Nesanel glanced down at the bloody face and nodded in recognition.
"Indeed, a single clear mind cannot overcome the madness of everyone."
Nesanel withdrew his slightly sympathetic gaze, then he looked at Jos, paused for several seconds before continuing further, landing far beyond.
In the depths of the Ethereal Realm, overwhelming shadows rolled, like pitch-black waves sweeping over all things.
Nesanel knew something was about to arrive.
Some sinister, indescribable presence reaching the roots.
"Oh, you’re truly my enemy then."
Nesanel’s expression momentarily faded, but a trace of puzzling excitement swiftly emerged. He left Jiru embedded in the ice surface, ignoring the Duke of Conquest and Jos, he strode towards the depths of the Ethereal Realm, facing the surging darkness.
He saw in the undulating darkness, peculiar direwolves weaving through, like shadows constantly shifting, draped in jet-black mane.
Countless mouths opened and closed, making clear sounds of teeth clashing, the scarlet hundred eyes and thousand eyes glaring fiercely from their bodies, the overflowing blood aura like a tidal wave invaded.
Despite countless recounting of the Ethereal Realm’s phantoms by Bologue, nothing matched witnessing it firsthand, and it was at this moment Nesanel finally understood why these people dared to challenge him. It wasn’t just the Aurora Power’s blessing nor the ether abundance within the overlapping point; they merely used this means to open a passage to allow creatures unable to descend here, through the Ethereal Realm, to appear before him.
The wolf pack of shadows approached, scattered, transforming into a myriad of birds circling around Nesanel, forming a black storm, trapping him within the eye of the storm.
The sharp chirping brushed against Nesanel’s nerves like a sharp sword, he saw the constant opening and closing scarlet eyes within the storm, the rampant mockery from the frenzied existence.
Nesanel laughed in response, leaving nothing behind, fully releasing his ether.
Secret Energy·Daylight.
Brilliant white noon rose from the ground.
Jos saw a searing white rapidly rising from the dark storm, like a detonation erupting from the ground, rapidly ascending light and heat enveloped all living things within its range, evaporating them from the cellular level into salt pillars.
No space for evasion, no time to escape, pure flowing light smoothed everything, the overflowing energy rammed through the overlapping point, collided with the Material Realm, and instantly destroyed the entire structure.
With Nesanel’s hunt, the Aurora Path retracted into the Supreme Hub, the High Towers lost power one by one and extinguished, this rare occurrence in the Land of Secrets attracted much attention, until now, the Lower Section of the Supreme Hub exploded, the roaring stream of fire spilling like an erupting volcano, scattering countless shards of stardust onto the earth.
Holt watched all of it from afar, he saw it, other staff saw it, the guards of the All Secrets Order, and the Spirit Duke, who had been monitoring him, also saw it.
His pupils contracted tightly, the worst scenario Nesanel whispered with him earlier had indeed occurred, yet Holt hadn’t enacted countermeasures; two pressures from the Seeker of Glory rose one after another, simultaneously the Extreme Realm’s Ethereal Prohibition enveloped the area, and the field staff one by one lost contact with the surrounding ether.
The Spirit Duke smiled at everyone, behind him, another Duke in white robes strode forward, accompanied by numerous guards.
"Are you declaring war?" Holt asked coldly.
"No, of course not," the Spirit Duke shook his head, gesturing invitingly, "The Ancestral Council wishes to meet you."
