The world seemed to slow down to a crawl.

Olivia could see Ark’s scythe slowly approaching her head, she could see her sweat drops floating in the air in front of her face, but more importantly—

’I can see it!’ Olivia screamed internally.

They looked like golden strings of light that traced the path his scythe had followed, and with that information, she could automatically predict where the scythe would land!

’So this is what Ark was talking about?’ She felt like laughing.

From his minute actions, the slight arc of his elbow, to his foot work, Olivia could see everything.

Now she perfectly understood what he meant when he told her to see!

Veins pulsed on her arms, and her muscles tightened as she held on to her axe.

But there was only one little problem. Although she could now see the path of the blade...

’I can’t dodge it!’

VWOOOOOSH—!!

The curved tip of the scythe stopped right at the point between Olivia’s eyes, the blade drawing a drop of blood.

But while others would have flinched, or cowered in fear, Olivia’s intense green eyes were wide open, and she had a wild smile on her face.

"Let’s go again!"

Ark drew back his scythe and said humorously, "Are you sure? I might just slip this time."

Olivia laughed. "That will make it even better! I want us to keep going until you completely exhaust me, let’s have fun together, Ark!"

Once again, Ark’s weapon transformed. A rattling sound filled the air as a long chain clattered onto the floor.

He took his stance, holding his Kusarigama by the handle. "Are you sure you want this? I don’t finish fast, you know?"

Olivia stepped forward with her axe, their faces were inches apart, and there was an almost beastly smile on her face. "I like men who can last long."

Without another word, they continued their spar, both players fighting as though they wished to take the life of the other.

The crowd that had gathered gave them blank stares, unsure of what to say.

"Umm... What was that conversation even about?"

"Does anyone know what guild they belong to? It must be a guild filled with weirdos."

"Yeah... it’s probably best we avoid them."

Meanwhile, at the edge of the room, Thalia let out a deep sigh as she watched them fight.

She had arrived at the Astral arena just before their last sparring match had concluded.

"These two..." she shook her head, her face turning dark. "They are going to ruin the reputation of the guild before we even become official!"

Ark and Olivia ended up sparring till neither of them could properly move a limb, and so they both collapsed in the center of the stage, staring up at the ceiling.

"That was fun." Olivia smiled.

Ark nodded. "Yeah..."

She turned her head to stare at him. "Same time tomorrow?"

"Definately..."

While they lay on the floor, trying to recover their energy, a shadow suddenly hovered over them.

Thalia was standing next to them with her hands folded underneath her chest, and a slight frown on her face, as her glasses gleamed in the light.

"Oh, it’s Thalia..." Ark weakly raised his hand, before the hand fell back to the floor.

"R-really...?" Olivia blinked. "Where?"

Ark pushed her face to look upwards, and then a goofy smile appeared on her lips.

"Hi Thalia, and Thalia’s sister~" She said in a squeaky tone.

"Huh?" Ark immediately sat up straight. "What are you talking about?"

Olivia’s smile broadened. "They are.... Twooo. Hehehe. T-Thalia brought her twin sist—"

She suddenly began foaming at the mouth.

"Hey, Olivia! Olivia, can you hear me?! Thalia give me a healing potion!"

<•••>

Just like Olivia had predicted, after their battle, they did end up visiting the Hero’s statue, only that it was for her instead of him.

After being healed, and some much needed rest, the group of three made a visit to what was now becoming their favourite restaurant, The Divine Dragon.

They had set out to spar as early as 5 AM, but by the time they were done, it was late at night.

"Huhuhu..." the cat woman chuckled once she saw them, especially Olivia. "Welcome back my favourite customeows, what would you like today?"

As usual, Ark went for a plate of seasoned bones, Thalia decided to go for steak cooked rare, and Ark was happy that she had finally chosen cooked food for once...

But when it arrived, it was so raw that the boar was practically jumping around on her plate.

Olivia on the other hand ordered so much food that he had grown tired while trying to count how many different dishes she ordered.

As they ate, Thalia glanced at a certain dish in front of Olivia. "What is that?"

It was a dish made out of white rice and what looked like raw fish, wrapped up in a thin strip of vegetable.

Ark could understand why it had piqued her interest, apart from the fact that the food included raw meat, it looked rather appetising.

Not like it mattered to him...

He crunched on his salted bone as he watched them.

Olivia smiled as she turned her attention to the food. "It is a new dish on the menu, they are calling it sushi. Should I order one for you?"

"Why do you need another one?" Ark asked, sounding genuinely confused.

"Hmm...?" Olivia shrugged. "Well, we could share, but she will probably miss out on a few flavours."

"Tsk, tsk, tsk." Ark shook his head. "Look at it properly, I’m sure there are two on the plate. They are probably twins."

Olivia had a strained smile on her lips as she glared at him. Then she picked up a drumstick and pointed it at his face, and said while smiling, "I’m going to shove this chicken up your nose—"

"Please... enough." Thalia sighed tiredly, massaging her forehead as she stared at the table.

After a few seconds, she turned to Ark and asked, "By the way, how did the registration go?"

He gave her a thumbs up. "I’ve completed the first part of it, we are now a pseudo guild under the name Kasket."

Now all that was left was for them to complete the other requirements to become an official guild.

Thalia raised a brow. "Kasket? How did you end up with that... you know what, never mind."

Ark picked up another bone and bit down on it. "What about you? How are things going at your end?"

Thalia had the most difficult job among them.

"Well, I’m making progress." She said deyly, as she pushed around her food with her fork. "I have found the dungeon we will be exploring."

"The raid is happening in a month time, so we have until then to prepare."

Although it should have been good news, Ark could not understand why she sounded a little depressed.

"That is great, right?" He probed. Was there something he wasn’t getting?

"It is... but about the other task..." Worry flashed in Thalia’s violet eyes, and then she suddenly pushed away her plate, folded her arms on the table, and buried her face in it.

The action was so childish, and unlike Thalia, that Olivia and Ark glanced at each other before looking back at her.

Ark poked her arm. "Thalia...?"

"Mmm?"

"Are you alright?"

"No, I’m not."
