Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World
Chapter 391: Ascension Reward and Worlds?[Ding! You’ve obtained an SSS-Rank Awakening Stone.]
[Ding! You’ve obtained the privilege to reach Emperor-Rank, the first rank of the Tier 2 World.]
[Ding! You’ve obtained the privilege of a Lord.]
Caelus stared at the notifications in stunned silence.
An SSS-Rank Awakening Stone?
This was incredibly valuable. He had already used many before to permanently awaken his Chaos Dragon Body, and now he had another opportunity to unlock even more of its potential.
Naturally, he didn’t hesitate.
Caelus crushed the stone immediately.
Golden light enveloped his body as he was pulled into the familiar awakening space. The void stretched endlessly around him, filled with floating orbs that represented abilities waiting to be claimed.
However, the moment he opened his eyes, his expression immediately changed.
Something was wrong.
Caelus looked around the space carefully, only to find a single option remaining. A lone glowing orb floated in the distance, pulsing with faint energy, while every other location that should have contained an ability was completely empty.
The slots where abilities should have been were hollow, almost as if someone had already taken them.
Caelus walked through the space slowly, checking each location twice, but no matter how carefully he searched, there was nothing else.
His Chaos Analysis had expanded from three slots to eight, and its core function had also undergone a refinement. Beyond that, however, there was nothing new for him to claim.
It was almost as though he had reached the end of the road.
"What the hell?" he muttered.
His mind immediately settled on his first theory.
Had the original Ender of Origin cut off the remaining abilities of the Chaos Perception Dragon bloodline?
Caelus was certain there should have been more powers. The Chaos Perception Dragon was an Upper SSS-Rank Race, so how could its potential end this easily?
Yet the more closely he examined the empty spaces, the stranger the situation became. Those abilities hadn’t simply been claimed or locked away. The spaces themselves were empty, almost as though they had never existed in the first place.
Why did the power of the Chaos Perception Dragon end here?
His suspicion grew stronger.
Perhaps the Ender of Origin had intentionally severed the connection to prevent him from accessing the bloodline’s full potential.
But then again, what would the Ender of Origin gain from doing something like that?
Another possibility soon occurred to him.
Maybe this was simply where the Chaos Dragon’s abilities naturally ended.
However, that explanation didn’t make much sense either. An Upper SSS-Rank Race shouldn’t have such limited potential. There should have been layers upon layers of abilities waiting to be unlocked.
Caelus continued pacing through the empty space as his mind raced through one theory after another, yet none of them seemed to provide a satisfactory explanation.
Eventually, his gaze settled on Chaos Analysis.
"Or... was this the end of it all?"
He stared at the expanded slots and the refined function, thinking carefully about what the ability actually represented.
"Chaos Analysis essentially gives me unlimited possibilities and creations."
Perhaps that was the answer.
Maybe the Chaos Dragon’s true power had never been about possessing dozens of preset abilities. Instead, its true strength lay in possessing a tool capable of creating anything it needed.
At the same time, this thought reminded Caelus of something else.
The only known SSS-Rank Talent holder, he was pretty close to the First Ender Of Origin.
What if the SSS-Rank Talent had always belonged to the First Ender of Origin?
What if the dragon and the talent were never meant to be separate?
It was merely a theory, and Caelus had no evidence to support it. In fact, it would be rather bizarre, considering that historical records described the Ender of Origin and the holder of the only known SSS-Rank Talent as two separate entities.
Yet they had been closely connected, hadn’t they?
Caelus shook his head before he could continue down that line of thought.
"Why am I thinking about controversial bullshit when I’m ascending?"
He decided to stop overthinking the matter.
Whatever the truth was, he would eventually uncover it. For now, he would simply have to rely fully on Endless Extraction and Chaos Analysis. Perhaps Chaos Analysis itself was the key to unlocking more draconic abilities in the future.
And Starting now, Endless Extraction will be the main focus for him.
With that thought in mind, Caelus claimed the single remaining ability before ejecting himself from the awakening space.
As soon as he returned, a communication from Sylvia reached him through their mental link.
"Hubby! I got a new ability!"
Her excited voice immediately rang through his mind.
"It’s called Blood Doppelganger. I can create copies of myself made from blood!"
Hearing this, Caelus raised an eyebrow.
"How does it work?"
"The doppelganger has the same combat score as me, but its stats, like HP, MP, and Mind Power, are only half of what I have," Sylvia explained quickly. "And if I make a second doppelganger, the third one will have half of what the first doppelganger had!"
"That’s pretty cool," Caelus replied genuinely.
Internally, however, he couldn’t help but feel even stranger about his own awakening.
Even Sylvia had obtained a completely new ability, while he hadn’t gained anything particularly substantial. All he had received was an expansion of Chaos Analysis.
Was this really all the Chaos Dragon had to offer?
The thought lingered for a moment before Caelus pushed it aside.
There was no point dwelling on something he didn’t understand yet.
"Okay, wait for a bit," he told Sylvia. "I’m going to initiate the final ascension now."
With that settled, Caelus turned toward the Ascension Gate and activated it.
[Ding!]
[You’ve reached the Tier 2 World Space.]
[Ding!]
[Please choose the world you wish to ascend to.]
[As the King of Genesis Kingdom, you have the authority to select your destination.]
Caelus raised his eyebrows at the notification, his expression becoming slightly dumbfounded.
Choose the world to ascend to?
That was pretty strange.
He had expected the system to simply send them to a predetermined location, so having the authority to select their destination was certainly unexpected.
Still, Caelus didn’t question it for long.
He decided to see what options were available to him.
