Endless Leveling Done Right!

Chapter 776: Desperate Struggle

Inside the conference room within the castle, Alex and his friends started to discuss their next move.

Nessia was unable to participate. She had exerted herself far too much, both mentally and physically, so even after days, she had yet to recover fully. As such, Alex had asked Eleanora to look after her.

Since Chuck was still in control of his body, he joined the meeting and shared his opinion about how they should proceed.

"We will definitely need all the help that we can get," Chuck said in a serious tone. "In short, we need to deal with Charles first before the people from Reverse Arcana cross over to our world. Though, judging by the situation at hand, we might not have a lot of time before Reverse Vaan completes his mission."

Alex nodded in agreement. He also felt that they didn’t have the leisure to wait until Reverse Vaan finished his preparations.

Little did he know that while he was having this meeting with his club members, Efa and Himea were busy sabotaging Reverse Vaan’s effort to complete the magic circles around the island of Hy-Brasil.

The two were buying as much time as possible for Alex’s group to prepare for the upcoming battle with their counterparts.

"So we all agree to prioritize dealing with Charles first," Alex replied. "The problem is that he has summoned a massive ant army. I have already informed the Royal Guards to pass on a message to my commanders to prepare men for a military campaign.

"I am asking them to provide at least five thousand men to help us fight against the monster army."

Chuck nodded in satisfaction. "Being a King has its perks. Hey, how about we raise an army to fight against the people from Reverse Arcana?"

"That sounds like a good idea." Vaan smirked in response. "Raise an army of twenty thousand and ask them to fight the invaders alongside us. Since we can’t defeat them in quality, we will just beat them in quantity instead!"

"Wait, what are you guys talking about?" Aeris interjected all of a sudden. "What is this Reverse Arcana you speak of?"

Lapiz had already seen Reverse Lala in the past, so she already knew about Reverse Arcana. That being said, only Aeris was left clueless about the danger they were about to face.

"Think of Reverse Arcana as a parallel world to this one," Alex explained. "A world where our counterparts live, with them being the complete opposite of our characters."

The frown on Aeris’ face deepened as she tried to imagine her reverse counterpart.

She was a proud, bold, and confident young lady.

Did that mean her reverse counterpart was a timid, meek, and painfully insecure girl who lacked the courage to even meet another person’s gaze?

The mere thought of her counterpart acting like that unnerved her. If that were true, then what kind of life did Reverse Aeris live in that parallel world?

While Aeris was thinking about her counterpart, Alex considered Vaan’s proposal.

He had to admit that they were indeed outmatched, so why not make up for it with numbers?

"I don’t know if I can raise a massive army on such short notice," Alex stated. "But I’ll do my best."

He was glad he had held this meeting. Without it, he never would have thought of using the elven army to fight against Reverse Alex and his people.

"Do any of you have other opinions on how to handle Charles, as well as our reverse counterparts?" Alex asked. "Speaking of which, I don’t want to scare you guys, but our counterparts are at least Rank 7, perhaps even Rank 8. Reverse Latifa has eight tails, so she is definitely a Rank 8 Celestial Walker."

Alex looked at the fox lady in front of her and saw her nod in understanding.

Right now, Latifa only had four tails. Simply said, she was not a match for her counterpart. Ironically, Reverse Latifa was the one who warned Alex about Hy-Brasil.

Although he didn’t want to have hope for fear that he would be sorely mistaken, there was a chance that Reverse Latifa didn’t wish to fight them.

’However, if Reverse Alex forces her, then she would definitely make a move,’ Alex thought.

She remembered Lala, who had returned to her mistress’ side. The necklace he had given her was tied around one of Reverse Latifa’s tails, the sight of which infuriated Alex at the time.

Although he wasn’t sure what really happened to the little girl, his instinct was telling him that she had suffered greatly before being absorbed back by her mistress.

"I am not sure if my next words are true, but there is a chance that our counterparts may not wish to fight against us," Renard commented. "When I fought against Reverse Vaan, he said that my counterpart is a nerd that can’t even hurt an ant."

"Right!" Chuck exclaimed. "I’m sure my counterpart is also a very kind and honest soul."

Everyone gave the troublemaker a judgmental look in response.

Unlike Reverse Renard, Reverse Chuck might actually become a problem for them.

"W-Why are you guys looking at me like that?" Chuck asked. "Did I say something wrong?!"

"There’s a possibility that Reverse Chuck will become a strong opponent." Vaan sighed.

"Right." Alex nodded in agreement. "He might become a troublesome opponent."

He could already imagine Reverse Chuck as the version of Chuck who drank the Conqueror’s Potion.

A confident and powerful sorcerer who wielded flames with ease.

"My counterpart may become our enemy as well," Lapiz stated.

She knew herself more than anyone. This was why she was confident that Reverse Lapiz would become a very dangerous opponent.

"You’re right as well." Alex sighed.

He then made a mental note of the possible opponents that they would be facing up against.

In the end, even if only a handful of people fought on the side of Reverse Arcana, the disparity in ranks would still play a great factor in the upcoming battle.

"There is another method that we can try," Evangeline said calmly. "It’s what we always do when faced against strong opponents. Have you forgotten this, Alex?"

At first, Alex didn’t realize what his lover was hinting at the beginning.

But when he thought about it a bit more, he finally understood what she meant.

"Of course... why didn’t I think of that?" Alex’s eyes widened in shock.

There was another way to gain an advantage in the upcoming war, and that was choosing the battlefield where they would fight.

If they could make preparations beforehand, like Nessia’s Rune Magic and Chuck’s magical formations, they might be able to trap or even weaken their enemies once they stepped onto the battlefield that they had prepared for them.

"We need to divide our forces," Alex declared. "One group will face Charles, while the other will set up magical formations around Everdawn City. I have a feeling that this is the place where we will hold the decisive battle."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

After careful consideration, the team that would face Charles had been decided.

Nessia would definitely go and save her boyfriend, so she was already added to the count.

Astrea, who had remained silent during the meeting, volunteered to help those who would be staying in the city.

She knew a little bit about magical formations, so she believed that she would be of assistance.

Now that everyone had made their voices heard, Alex finally drafted the teams that would head to battle.

Alex, Vaan, Renard, Fran, Latifa, and Evangeline would head south to fight against Charles.

On the other hand, Chuck, Lapiz, Aeris, and Astrea would remain in the city and reinforce the magical formations that would allow them to gain a tactical advantage against their foes.

They had to go all out if they wanted to win.

As the meeting was eventually brought to a close, Alex summoned the Elven Commanders who were currently in the city.

He ordered them to prepare for an invasion and started raising an army.

The commanders thought that they would be subjugating the remnants of the Demon Army, so they agreed to obey their King’s orders.

Though, truth be told, Alex didn’t want to involve the people of this world in his battle. However, he was truly desperate.

A desperation that might or might not help him defeat the person he dreaded to face the most.
