Only now that Kael hugged his sister could he fully feel the shocking strength hidden within her small frame. Despite his sister's class centering on the Mind stat, Kael could shockingly feel that her physique didn't pale in comparison to his at all. The immense vitality rushing through her veins was enough to make one's heart tremble.

But at the same time, his perception, heightened by his Mythical skill, could sense the weakness, the tiredness, the frailty buried beneath layers of strength and authority.

'Was her hair always this long?' His hand ran down the length of her waist-long dark hair, and for some reason, Kael found himself sobbing.

'I really hate this apocalypse.'

Despite how much strength he had gained within this short time, Kael was certain at this moment that he wouldn't hesitate to lose it all just to return to their previous lives.

The slight tenseness in Rose's muscles finally relaxed. Feeling the warmth of her elder brother, memories of the past few days that felt like a lifetime ago, broke through her mind like water bursting through a dam.

The burning pink flames in her eyes flickered away, and the cold light slowly wore off, a familiar warmth soon returning, albeit with far less intensity.

Finally, the backlash from her mental injuries caught up to her, mixing with the wave of weakness hidden within her bones, and Rose collapsed into her brother's embrace.

"Rose?" Kael froze for a moment before he screamed.

"Rose!"

The massive sniper rifle forced down Rachel's throat flickered away, and it was also at this moment that Iris and an entourage of several males arrived.

But sensing the tense atmosphere within the hall, no one spoke as they observed the four fallen bodies with grave expressions.

A hand fell on his shoulder from behind, causing his frantic movements to still.

"She doesn't seem to be in any immediate danger."

Nathan tried to speak as softly as possible, his grip tightening ever so slightly.

Kael responded hoarsely.

"...I know."

But that didn't diminish the sorrow weighing upon his heart. After all, his sister was no longer the same.

That was a fact.

He stood up while carrying his sister in his embrace, the flickering crown above his head fading away together with the booming echoes of his forged Will.

For some reason, his powerful figure looked so frail at that moment.

He walked past Elena, moving by one figure after another. He could almost sense the fear and wariness directed not toward him, but toward his sister. Hidden among those emotions was a faint trace of killing intent, prompting Kael to stop beside Iris at the entrance.

The expressions of the male survivors behind her changed greatly, and a few seemed ready to move, only to stop themselves a moment later.

Kael didn't care about their reactions. He didn't even seem to care that the five males had somehow broken into the First Order when he never recalled them doing so during the previous night's event.

He merely stood beside Iris, his head lowered and his disheveled hair concealing his expression.

As for Iris, her expression remained impassive. She pondered for a moment before her eyes glowed with a pink light, one different from Rose's. Hers carried a seductive glint that quietly lured one into its depths. A faint pinkish mist only she could see rose around her, engulfing Kael within their embrace.

Yet, despite waiting for ten breaths after activating her main skill, Kael showed no reaction.

Seeing this, her impassive look gave way to a serious one, a cold light gradually surfacing within her eyes.

She couldn't help but consider attacking them both now.

She could use the situation to her advantage and turn the survivors' growing fear into her weapon. Not to mention she should have Daniel and Ben on her side. The only ones she would have to watch out for were Nathan and the Principal. As for Elena, she wasn't sure what stance she would take.

However, before she could come to a decision, and while she was still hesitating, Kael suddenly moved.

He walked past her and out of the room. He didn't head toward the survivors' resting area but instead walked toward the opposite end of the second-floor hallway.

Iris watched him walk away, her pink eyes flickering with unreadable thoughts.

Even as all this happened, no one took notice of a certain figure.

Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say...

No one bothered to.

Rachel lay in a puddle of her own making, her eyes vacant as tears streamed down her face.

'What a miserable person I am.'

The thought quietly branded itself into her heart.

She had been toyed with and made a fool of from beginning to end, yet she couldn't even resist.

She remained in that state for a long while.

Even as she heard shuffling footsteps while people rushed to check on the four unmoving bodies...

Even as she heard Daniel's painful groans and Ben's furious curses...

No one spared her even a glance.

It was in that state that she uttered two quiet words within her mind.

'I accept.'

At that very moment, no one realized that the girl discarded to the side like a broken doll, had just made the greatest decision of her life.

No one realized that, on that day, another future monster had taken her first step.

No one realized that, from that moment onward, the course of history had begun to change.
