I let out a quiet breath, watching a pair of glowing spirit birds fly past a high-rise balcony. ’Did I? I basically just rejected a literal goddess on her knees.’

[Standing up for your core principles and self-worth is never the wrong choice,] Paige stated firmly, her virtual tone carrying an undeniable warmth. [There are countless beautiful women across the dimensions, Seth. And even if there weren’t, I could create a hundred top-tier goddesses for you with a single command! I’m genuinely proud of you for seeking real, meaningful connections instead of mindlessly chasing empty faces.]

A small, amused chuckle escaped my lips as I leaned against the stone railing of a quiet canal bridge. ’Thanks, Paige. I appreciate that.’

I looked down at the shimmering golden water reflecting the twilight sky. ’To be honest... I don’t completely blame Ishtar. Living for thousands of years as an immortal deity probably warps your perspective on human emotions. She’s so used to getting everything she wants that she probably doesn’t even realize how transactional she sounded. Not to mention her authorities also seemed to be affecting her mind.’

I smiled faintly, remembering her bright, genuine laugh from earlier when we were eating roasted corn. ’I actually really enjoyed hanging out with her today. If she ever comes around and understands things from a normal perspective... I wouldn’t mind being friends with her.’

[Oho?] Paige’s tone instantly flipped back into her usual chaotic, teasing lilt, giggling mischievously in my head. [Be honest with me, Host... you still really want to fuck her, don’t you?]

I let out a loud, genuine burst of laughter, shaking my head with a dry smirk. "I mean... obviously, Paige. She’s a drop-dead gorgeous goddess with a killer body. I’m a guy, not a saint."

[Fufufu~ That’s my honest Host!] Paige cackled happily before her screen flickered playfully. [Hey! If you want, I can create a perfect, fully functional replica of Ishtar right now in a pocket dimension! You could spend as much time with her as you wanted without any emotional baggage.]

My lips twitched dryly as I shut the idea down instantly. "Hell no. Absolutely not. I’m not doing weird clone stuff, Paige."

[Tsk! No sense of wild adventure!] Paige huffed dramatically, though her tone was filled with affectionate humor.

I looked up at the vast, permanent twilight sky of Uruk, taking a deep, refreshing breath of the cool, magical breeze. The chaotic sights, the amazing food, the High Council, and a proposal from a goddess... today had been an absolute whirlwind.

"Alright..." I murmured, stretching my arms over my head as a relaxed grin returned to my face. "...time to head back home."

...

I strolled down the glowing streets of Uruk, letting my mind settle.

My primary goal right now was to get back to Earth. Yerin’s farewell concert was happening tomorrow, and this was undeniably one of the biggest and most important days of her life. I wanted to be right there backstage to support her. Besides, after seeing how amazing Uruk was, I had already decided that the next time I came here, I was bringing Yerin and Val along so the three of us could properly explore the city together.

Then, a sudden, inconvenient realization hit me.

I stopped dead in my tracks in the middle of a paved avenue, blinking at the passing crowd. ’Wait a minute... how the hell do I actually get back home?’

I didn’t know where the public exit portals were, nor did I have Grandfather’s contact number saved on my phone. Sighing at my own lack of planning, I decided my best option was to head back to the central Transit Spire where Alistair and I had first arrived, hoping the black-armored guards would recognize me and let me use the transit circle.

Pulling out my new Awakened phone, I dialed Mom’s number.

The line connected after two rings. "Seth, sweetie! Are you having fun in Uruk?" Alice’s warm voice rang through the speaker.

"Hey, Mom," I said, leaning against a stone wall. "Yeah, Uruk was incredible. But I’m ready to head back now. The concert is tomorrow, and I want to be back in the Capital. Is there any chance you can arrange a ride for me from the mountain cave where the transit circle drops me off?"

"Of course, darling!" Mom replied instantly without a second of hesitation. "I’ll send a private military transport helicopter to the Eston mountain ridge right away! And don’t worry about the transit guards in Uruk, they’ll let you use the circle without any trouble. The Rothschild family actually owns and operates that entire transit spire."

I raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised. "Wait, will the transit circle even activate without Grandfather’s cane? He used it like a Master Key earlier."

"It will work just fine for you, Seth," Alice reassured smoothly. "You carry the crest of the Rothschild family now, so the array will recognize your authority automatically."

I briefly wondered when or how I’d received the crest but I didn’t bother asking. At this point, the sheer extent of my family’s global influence didn’t even surprise me anymore.

"Got it. Thanks, Mom," I said. "Could you tell Grandfather I headed back ahead of him when you talk to him?"

"Will do, sweetie. See you soon!"

Hanging up, I ducked into a quiet, secluded alleyway.

"Paige, I addressed my system mentally. ’Mind dropping me off near the base of the Transit Spire?’

[Fufufu~ One instant local spatial jump, coming right up!] Paige chimed cheerfully in my head.

SWOOSH.

In a single, imperceptible instant, the alley vanished. I found myself standing directly at the base of the colossal obsidian spire, staring up at its towering height as it pierced the golden twilight sky.

Shaking my head at Paige’s ridiculous convenience, I walked straight through the grand archway entrance. The moment I stepped inside, the black-armored guardians posted along the hall recognized me instantly, dropping onto one knee in synchronized respect.

"Young Lord," the lead knight said with a bow.
