In the underground cavern, the massive Insect Race commander slowly raised its head. Red light shone from the cracks in its shell, like a volcano on the verge of erupting.

Though her sword didn’t sever the tentacle completely, it did stop its movement for an instant, buying Li Chang’an precious time.

Li Chang’an seized the opportunity to leap onto a protruding rock. He swung his Saw Chain Sword fiercely, bringing it down toward the Insect Race commander’s head.

But just as the blade was about to make contact, the creature’s massive, fleshy petals suddenly unfurled, revealing a dense mass of tentacles within.

"HISSS—"

The tentacles whipped out like vipers, forcing Li Chang’an to take a step back.

He steadied himself and said coldly,

"Its defenses are even stronger than we thought. Don’t let your guard down for a second!"

"We know!"

Standing at a distance, Han Ruoxi unleashed a searing white arc of electricity from her hands, blasting the front of the Insect Race commander.

The arc struck its shell dead-on but only left a scorch mark on the surface.

Sun Yang shouted, raising his Pulse Gun and unleashing a wild spray of fire at several smaller insect units pouncing from the side.

"Dammit, these little bugs are everywhere!"

Meanwhile, the Thunder Eagle Squad was stealthily circling to the rear of the Insect Race commander.

Du Feng tightened his grip on his long blade and whispered to his squadmates.

"Remember, don’t make a move until the critical moment.

The members of the Thunder Eagle Squad nodded and approached the target in silence.

The battle grew white-hot.

Just then, the Thunder Eagle Squad finally made it to the Insect Race commander’s rear.

"Now!"

Du Feng let out a low shout. He raised his long blade high, aiming straight for the exposed area of soft tissue.

He leaped into the air and brought the long blade crashing down!

"SQUELCH—"

The long blade plunged precisely into the Insect Race commander’s weak spot. Bright green fluid gushed out as the insect let out a pained shriek, its entire body beginning to tremble violently.

"It’s a hit!"
