Alex stared at her for a moment.

"As I mentioned before, the Godslayer you knew was the mixture of your master’s soul remnant and the sword’s nascent spirit. When they separated, I absorbed your master’s remnant into my Origin, but the spirit survived."

The woman’s eyes narrowed. "That spirit is in here now?"

"Not exactly," Alex continued. "As I also mentioned before, my own sword’s spirit doesn’t have a place to stay anymore, since my sword is broken."

The woman frowned as she believed she could see where this was going.

"And finally, as I said to you before, Godslayer saved my blood-refined sword’s spirit. And while he saved it, they began merging as well," Alex said, before pointing toward the sword in the woman’s hand. "That merged spirit lives inside that sword."

The woman stared down at her hand, finding it hard to imagine all of that was true. And yet, she could feel it. Even if the sword did belong to her master, she wasn’t sure if she could call it hers anymore.

There was conflict in her heart that she couldn’t get rid of immediately.

Alex could see that, so he hoped what he said next would help her.

"I have something of a Primordial right now that you can try and make something with," Alex told her.

The woman looked up from the sword. "Right now?" she asked.

Alex nodded. After a brief thought, he brought something out.

The woman stepped back in surprise, nearly dropping the sword she held in her hand. She stared before her at the massive blue-white wall that had suddenly appeared in front of her out of nowhere, rising from the floor to the ceiling. She touched the surface of the wall and felt a coolness from it.

She could hardly understand what it was that she was looking at. Never in her life had she seen such an ingredient before.

"What is this?" she asked.

"A scale of the Primordial Flood Dragon," Alex answered her.

The Artifact God stared back at the massive wall, finally able to tell what it was that she was looking at. She gulped a little, looking at it in its entirety.

"This... this is the Flood Dragon’s scale?" she asked. "How did you receive it?"

Alex took a second to answer. "I won’t go into detail, but it was given to me by the First Ruler of the Scar in the Twin Scar Realm."

The Artifact God paused. "The Beast Realm?" she asked. "Why would the rulers of the beast world give you a Primordial’s scale? I do not believe they have many themselves."

It took Alex a moment to decide on whether he wanted to answer this or not, but given that she had likely either heard about it from someone else or even just sensed it already, Alex saw no harm in telling her this.

"Because I am the Sun God."

The woman’s expression changed ever so slightly. "You... are the Sun God?" she asked. "And that is enough for them to give you a Primordial’s scale?"

Alex shrugged. He placed the scale back into his Soul Space. The sudden disappearance of it caused the Artifact God to be startled a little. She looked back at him.

"Why did you put it away?" she asked.

"Because we still need to come to a decision, Senior," Alex said. "I know you believe that sword should belong to you, but I’m here to tell you that I desperately need it. As such, I would like to ask you for it. And in exchange, I can provide you with a Primordial’s body part. You may do whatever you want with it. What do you think?"

The Artifact God took several seconds to consider the proposal. She walked back toward the couch after some time and sat down, still holding the black sword.

Alex looked at her unfocused eyes and then back at the sword, hoping she would make the decision he wanted her to make. After a brief moment, she nodded and tossed the sword over to Alex.

"Take it. If that is what you want, then you can use it," she said.

Alex smiled. "Thank you, Senior."

The woman nodded, saying nothing more.

Alex bowed still. "And about the scale, I—"

"I don’t want you to give me the scale," she added. "I do want you to give it to me so I may make something out of it, but I do not want you to give it to me so I may own it. The members of the beast royal family gave that to you, so it would be rude of me to take it. Not to mention the fact that my interest lies more with trying to make something out of it rather than actually using it."

Alex paused for a second longer and nodded.

He was happy that the woman had decided to cut him off. If not, he would have revealed something more that he just hadn’t been ready to.

Since there was only one scale, he wanted to use it all by himself. However, he had a limb of the Guardian Tiger, as well as the complete corpse of the Three-Legged Crow. He had been about to propose that he would give her those instead, but the woman had removed the need for him to make that decision.

The Artifact God leaned back in her seat. "I think I will make a shield out of it. Or maybe I can make armor."

She was already deciding on what it was that she wanted to make. After a short while, she looked back up.

"Alright, I’ll reforge that sword for you," she said.

Alex blinked. "I wanted you to train me, Senior. I would like to reforge that sword all by myself."

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you want," she said, suddenly getting hasty. "You can leave me alone for now. I will need to consolidate this inheritance I’ve received. Once I’m done with it, I can start teaching you fully. For now, you may leave."
