Eternal Emerald Dragon

Chapter 1882 - 1881 - Army Arrives

Once several sessions were completed to work out various tactics and discuss what to look out for, Lind had no reason to put it off any longer.

There was no parade or grand speeches. Words would not help them in what was to come. A massive wave of figures floated up above the surface of the hold and many were cheered on by Immortals or others living there.

Lind had put his foot down on a few of his wives. Shoti could not be stopped but Qing wanted to go and Lind fought hard against it. He lost that fight when Annabelle asked if he would hold her back.

The look in her azure and golden eyes froze him in place.

The Divine Realm cultivators did not resist. They stood no chance outside the hold.

So Shoti, Qing, Ethry, Annabelle, Chu, and Fey from his family followed him with the hundreds of other Eternal Realm cultivators.

Goldthorn and Violet Cloud were right there but Spirit Caller had not come. She had no battle skills to speak of nor any way to fight the Fiend off.

Shattering Fist could hardly be held back and Bloodsight was right there with the old ape.

New friends and various acquaintances flew into the darkness with him. There was no way to hide it but nothing greeted them. Their senses let them navigate the powerful forces coming off the holds.

A few stripped away at the last moment but Lind did not care. There was no turning back and those too afraid to help were more of a liability than help.

Eventually, he launched emerald flames that coalesced into small stars. They lit up the empty darkness but it was not Qi they emitted. It was purely light. Lind had to make sure of that or the floating lair would take it all in to hide.

Just as the explosions had exposed it before, now a massive dark metal fortress was revealed. Seeing it in a projection was one thing but seeing it with their own eyes only made it real.

Their senses felt nothing but they could see it! Proof, if any was needed, of how much they had underestimated the Fiend.

Lind looked at it as well and could see far too many applications of his theories. Where that knowledge came from made his stomach curdle in despair. The only people so well versed in his abilities was his family!

Some version of them was inside the Bastard!

Lanbao's name flashed in his mind and he knew that monstrous being would definitely bait him with her. Even if she was really there, he knew it was not the one that he knew any longer. It was likely a fusion of various pieces of the many previous timelines that had been consumed by the Bastard.

It enraged him as well that any doubt of what happened to the other versions of his lifetime of family and friends was laid bare before him.

[GO!] Emerald light blazed across the floating figures and slammed out ward. Ephemeral fists, blades, and all kinds of attacks slammed outward like a tsunami of death. It could have almost been his Battle Aura yet it was far larger than he could ever hope to make that.

The wave closed in and all watched as a screen did appear. At first, many attacks just vanished but as the wave continued, the shield fully appeared and grew in intensity. No one stopped as a new wave shot out.

Lind waited as his eyes glowed. His Talents were working overtime parsing the chaos until he sneered.

A storm suddenly appeared and various colors of lightning snapped across the revealed screen. Rather than being absorbed, the screen cracked then shattered like glass.

It was never meant to stop them, just give the being inside awareness they had arrived. As soon as the screen fell, the structure became much clearer to them. The metal, stone, and even wood that made up the hull absorbed a lot of their energies.

It did not vanish from their senses, however, compared to before. Lind scanned it carefully but there was no apparent opening or weakness. Rather than force his way in he studied the lines.

While his sky and star ships imitated boats for the most part, they usually had an enclosed main deck with obvious areas for doors. A fortress, no matter how impregnable, needed a way in and out.

The obvious empty expanses were ignored by him. He could see the smooth flow of energy being absorbed and kept looking for the seam in the flow of power. It was not there for anyone else yet he finally stopped before a random panel.

It was on the bottom curving up to the side. It matched several other panels across the hull that everyone thought of as armor since they were made of metal but Lind felt it. A trace of something familiar.

He sighed as it was a bit obvious.

[Ethry, I need you and Chu.] The pair quickly appeared next to him. He then held up a strange sphere of crystal. They smiled at him as all 3 summoned their flames. The crystal quickly merged the prismatic, emerald and black flames into a single glowing sphere of power.

He then tossed it forward while they retreated. He warned everyone to back off as well.

The crystal sphere drifted by his toss alone to just brush the hull. The instant it touched, vile Qi exploded outward like a horrific claw of oblivion. It tried to trace back to them but the 3 flames were laced with the worst possible poison to Fiends.

The emerald Qi in Chu's and his flames swarmed the vile Qi while Ethry's prismatic flames roared like the end of the world.

A formation that hid the entrance was seared away with several more traps. Across the outer hull, more attacks flared but no one was in range!

It was a mass attack trap! Lind had severely underestimated how vindictive the Bastard was. Even if someone was just testing the hull, they would be consumed!

If not for his warning, who knew how many would have died! Once the flames consumed the Vile Qi and the final defenses, the metal piece evaporated to reveal a yawning dark space.

Having a direct example of what could await them, no order was needed for the next wave of attacks. The emerald Qi was like an endless storm until Lind held up his hand.

Despite the onslaught, only a few cracks were shown on the outer hull and door. They were far more resilient than the screen. The interior remained an abyss to their senses.

Lind cast several emerald suns inside but they snuffed out as soon as they got close. He frowned but then summoned a massive metal beam. It was a simple I-beam but to all the other cultivators, they felt a tremor in their hearts.

It was brimming with horrifying power! If there was an atmosphere, the creak of metal would be clear to all as something was about to burst out!

Lind cocked his arm back that grew to his full dragon size and launched it with strength alone. It shot like a missile as beams of emerald light began to emerge. It was quite literally made to store as much harmonic Qi as possible at the highest grade.

Lind had pushed it well beyond that limit and now used it like a sledge hammer on his enemy's front door!

The metal shot inside before there was a massive explosion! Finally, the exterior nearby fractured and more vile Qi was sent reeling in various shapes of weapons with even dark artifacts appearing before being vaporized.

An entire army could not breach the abyss but a single devastating bomb caused severe damage. All felt a chill down their spines but Lind could only smile painfully.

It took months to make the metal. It was a Forged alloy that was not abundant at all. He only had a few of those I-beams and a couple other nasty smaller versions.

They were one time use and they consumed their materials in the detonation. In other words, they could not be made again for probably billions upon billions of years!

Still, they were effective as he had hoped.

The previously dark abyss was now full of sparks and floating debris. The feeling of threat had vanished as well. He and his family moved ahead but Fey beat them all.

She was a horrifyingly powerful Eternal Realm even though she had not yet set her Harmonic Core in place.

Her dual swords of Life and Death carefully tested the way ahead. She frowned a bit but it was just some fading Fiend Qi. Lind followed and confirmed it was indeed an insulation layer.

The reason they had felt nothing was because the entire structure was buried in a wide hallway that dispersed or absorbed all excess energies.

Nothing escaped and nothing drew attention. It was a massive endeavor but it had worked as intended. The wrecked flooring and walls revealed even more intricate inscriptions but the patterns made everyone feel sick just looking at them.

[You have seen what just getting in takes. Assume that the same level or worse awaits us inside.] Any doubts about how he told them to proceed vanished after just 2 demonstrations of the power of the Fiend.

They had fought him or heard about it but seeing a different side of his expertise left them feeling grim.

Fey confirmed there were no more traps and they proceeded. The army had arrived at the gates and blown them open. It was time to invade the castle.
