Eternal Life Begins with Learning

Chapter 365 - 336: Transformation

Chapter 365: Chapter 336: Transformation

From high above, a faintly visible barrier could be seen encircling the entire Chu Capital City, sealing it off once more.

Disciples of the Longevity Sect, dressed in pristine white Magic Robes, stood guard around this barrier. Inside, the surviving Cultivators who had been corrupted by Demonic Qi were all trapped, with no way to escape.

Their desperate pleas were either ignored, met with immediate expulsion, or they were simply slain on the spot.

A streak of light flickered in the sky. Just as the Longevity Sect’s Guardian disciples grew vigilant, a Token came flying toward them.

The Token appeared ordinary, but when it made contact with the barrier, a gateway materialized in the previously solid blockade.

"We respectfully see you off, Senior!"

The Longevity Disciples, who had been about to move and intercept, immediately bowed in unison.

The Tunneling Light flickered, passed through the newly-formed gateway, and vanished over the horizon in the blink of an eye.

The Tunneling Light traveled for dozens of miles before descending onto a rural path.

"Follow this path for a few miles, and you’ll reach a mortal town."

After setting the boy down and speaking those words, he leaped into the air. The Tunneling Light streaked away, once again disappearing over the horizon.

The boy subconsciously dropped to his knees, respectfully seeing him off for a moment before daring to raise his head. The sky was clear and vast, but the Immortal Master was nowhere to be seen.

The boy couldn’t hide his envy, yet he also felt a little dejected. He quietly stood up and started down the country path.

High in the sky, the Flying Boat had appeared. It hadn’t flown away, however; instead, it hovered among the clouds. Chu Mu stood at its bow, his gaze fixed on the Chu Capital City, which was shrouded in a mysterious Demonic Qi.

A quarter of an hour. A very, very short time.

Within that roiling Demonic Qi, a flash of light suddenly appeared. In an instant, it rapidly expanded, and a dazzling, brilliant radiance swept out in all directions!

Only then did a world-shaking BOOM follow!

Even from hundreds of miles away, the entire world seemed to tremble from the force of that boom.

The Demonic Qi was annihilated, and the clouds were torn to shreds. The Chu Capital, its silhouette still recognizable a moment before, was turned to ash by the deafening roar and the sweeping light.

In just a few moments, the terrifying, sweeping force dissipated. The once-majestic and massive Chu Capital City was utterly annihilated, not a single trace of it left behind.

Only billowing clouds of dust and a deep, fissure-like crater remained, as if to prove that the Chu Capital had ever existed.

With the Spirit Vein detonated, one could predict that the resulting turbulent Spiritual Qi fluctuations and the near-annihilating explosion would turn this entire region into a dead zone from this day forward.

Amidst the surging Spiritual Qi, the area would become unsuitable for mortal life, and even more so for Cultivators to settle and practice their Cultivation.

A dead silence would envelop this land for at least several hundred years, until the Spiritual Qi contamination finally dissipated.

It was the same fate that had befallen the Jingmen battlefield, and now, it was the Chu Capital’s turn.

Chu Mu pressed his lips together. With a slight shift in his thoughts, the Flying Boat, which had been hovering in the sky, began to move forward as Spiritual Qi fluctuated and its Array Prohibitions activated.

The Flying Boat’s destination was, of course, Tongyou Village in Shitang County.

He still had a three-year promise to fulfill.

Although it had been little more than half a month since he left Tongyou Village, when he returned to the mountain cave and Wangcai bounded over excitedly, Chu Mu couldn’t help but feel as if a lifetime had passed.

He had received a blessing in disguise during his half-month in the Chu Capital, but the ’disguise’—the disaster itself—had been utterly terrifying for him.

A mere Foundation Establishment Cultivator like him was truly insignificant amidst a calamity where Golden Core masters appeared one after another.

As these thoughts crossed his mind, he removed a Light Blue Jade Stone embedded in Wangcai’s Battle Armor.

The main component of the Jade Stone was a Memory Stone, fused with Celestial Trace Stone Powder. It was considered a rather high-end surveillance and recording method in the Cultivation Immortal Realm.

He swiped a hand over it, and the scenes recorded over the past half-month flashed rapidly through his Divine Sense Perception, as if on fast-forward.

The past half-month had been monotonous and ordinary; nothing unexpected had occurred.

"Senior."

The boy hurried out of the mountain cave and bowed respectfully.

Chu Mu glanced at him. As expected, nurtured by the dense Spiritual Qi, the boy’s physical body had reached the peak of mortal Perfection. He was clearly just one final step away from Divine Appearance.

"How is your reading coming along?"

The boy answered with utmost respect, "Reporting to Senior, I have finished eight volumes. There are twenty-three left."

Chu Mu nodded. With a wave of his sleeve, a wooden chest half as tall as a man landed in front of the boy.

"This chest contains five hundred and twenty-eight types of mortal medicinal herbs, all of which are relatively rare. You should study them well."

"This junior understands."

The boy bowed respectfully.

Chu Mu nodded and walked into the cave. Wangcai followed closely behind, wagging its tail excitedly, showing no sign of being a fearsome Tier Two Demon Beast.

The boy glanced at the large residence at the foot of the mountain and hesitated for a moment. In the end, he hoisted the wooden chest and followed them into the cave.

Chu Mu went to a corner of the cave. With a flash of his saber’s light, a new cavern took shape. He laid down several Restrictions before stepping inside.

He stood inside the new cavern. The Minghong Saber, hovering before him, flashed again. Within a few breaths, a pool several meters wide was formed.

He sent his Divine Sense into his Storage Ring. To one side of the space within, several large wooden barrels were arranged. Their contents were none other than the viscous blood from the Blood Pool.

This blood was, of course, from the Blood Pool in the Chu Capital. After falling into it and realizing its miraculous effects, he had conveniently collected several barrels and stored them in his Storage Ring.

Without being refined by a True Flame, these barrels of blood were naturally full of impurities. Demon Nature and True Demon Remnant Blood still saturated it, making it a fatal substance for any ordinary living creature.

The barrels, filled to the brim with blood, landed before him. He formed a hand seal, and streams of Great Sun True Flame swept out.

Where the flames met the liquid, wisps of pure Blood Qi, visible to the naked eye, were extracted from the wooden barrels and settled into the earthen pool.

"Go on."

The Refinement continued for a moment. Once a considerable amount of Blood Qi Essence had accumulated in the earthen pool, Chu Mu turned to Wangcai, who was practically drooling.

With a wave of his hand, the Battle Armor covering Wangcai’s body came off.

With Chu Mu’s permission, Wangcai could no longer contain its desire. It leaped into the earthen pool and opened its mouth. The extracted wisps of blood formed a long dragon of Blood Qi, which it inhaled and began to refine.

Under the effect of the continuous supply of Blood Qi Essence, its aura as a Tier Two Early Stage beast fluctuated slightly, and its Cultivation began to rise slowly.

In Cultivation, time flows unnoticed. This process lasted for more than two months. It wasn’t until the three-month mark was approaching that the interplay of fire and water in the cavern finally ceased.

In the earthen pool, Wangcai was lying prone in a deep sleep, wreathed in Blood Qi. Within Chu Mu’s Divine Sense Perception, a metamorphosis, born from a leap in its Cultivation, had clearly begun within its body.

The wooden barrels in front of Chu Mu were all empty, their Blood Qi Essence completely extracted...
