Eternal Life Begins with Learning

Chapter 375 - 345: Chu River, Vast Sea

Chapter 375: Chapter 345: Chu River, Vast Sea

Amidst the mountains, a Flying Boat descended upon a mountain village.

A young boy walked unsteadily down from the Flying Boat. He paused as his feet touched the ground, his gaze lingering on the vessel with a hint of longing.

But then, the Flying Boat slowly began to hover, lifting off the ground.

The boy’s face fell, and he gave a respectful bow.

The Flying Boat streaked across the sky and vanished into the clouds.

The boy stood rooted to the spot, staring blankly in the direction it had vanished, as if still hoping for it to turn back—an impossible wish...

Aboard the Flying Boat, Chu Mu sat leaning against a window. He was well aware of the boy’s hopeful gaze.

’Obviously, I can’t be saddled with a burden at all times, especially one who’s also a bit stupid!’

’In the Cultivation Immortal Realm, poor aptitude and poor comprehension weren’t the real issues. At worst, one would just waste away their life, a common enough sight.’

’But being stupid... that was far worse than just wasting away.’

He couldn’t be bothered to dwell on it. Silently, he began to take stock of his gains from the Hundred Treasures Pavilion auction.

The most precious item was, without a doubt, the bottle of Enlightenment Pills.

Although he had already studied the Pill Recipe for the Enlightenment Pill in detail back in Water Heaven Workshop, Demon Beasts were nearly extinct in the Great Chu Inland. Consequently, Demon Pills were also exceedingly rare.

Thus, he had been forced to shelve the Pill Recipe.

The remaining items were various rare Spirit Materials and Spirit Medicine, most of them intended for his set of Moonlight Battle Armor.

During the demonic upheaval, Chu Mu had been through numerous battles. His Moonlight Battle Armor, which he considered a trump card, was still barely usable, but the damage it had sustained was undeniably severe.

On this journey, repairing the Moonlight Battle Armor was another key objective.

With a flick of his finger, Chu Mu sent an Enlightenment Pill flying out. It hovered before Wangcai, its pale gray form spinning in place. Wangcai opened its mouth and swallowed the pill in one gulp.

Chu Mu extended his Divine Sense. As always, Wangcai had no defenses up, allowing his Divine Sense to permeate its Demon Body and observe the changes after it consumed the Enlightenment Pill.

At the same time, he took out a sheet of paper, and with deft strokes of his brush, he jotted down his observations.

The process lasted for less than a quarter of an hour before his brush came to a stop.

Chu Mu studied the notes on the pill’s effects, his brow furrowed in thought.

The effects of the Enlightenment Pill weren’t particularly miraculous, and the principle behind it was actually quite simple.

The key lay in the Demon Pill used to make it.

A Demon Pill is the crystallization of a Demon Beast’s entire being. When used as a core ingredient, it naturally contains the beast’s residual Essence, Qi, and Spirit—and even fragments of its memories!

If not properly purified, this residual Essence, Qi, and Spirit would be a deadly poison to a Cultivator.

For a Demon Beast, however, the potent nature of its Demon Beast Bloodline meant this wasn’t an issue.

And the source of the Enlightenment Pill’s effects was precisely this residual Essence, Qi, and Spirit from the Demon Beast within the Demon Pill.

The principle was similar to the illusory passage of time created by a Celestial Trace Stone. The only difference was that the Enlightenment Pill used the residual Essence, Qi, and Spirit from the Demon Pill to create its illusion.

When a Demon Beast consumes it, it’s like experiencing a grand, illusory dream.

Chu Mu looked over at Wangcai, who was lying prone. As its eyes fluttered open, he could see the lingering daze of one caught between illusion and reality, as if it hadn’t fully come to its senses.

’It shouldn’t be taken consecutively. The interval should be... one year!’

After a moment’s thought, Chu Mu added another line to the paper.

"Eat this."

With a flick of his finger, Chu Mu sent a Tier Two Calming Pill into Wangcai’s mouth. The daze in its eyes slowly faded, replaced by clarity, before it once again grew sleepy.

Chu Mu shifted his position slightly. With a flick of his finger, the Moonlight Battle Armor appeared, hovering before him.

The Battle Armor was in shambles, caked with dried blood. The twin wings on its back were nothing but a skeletal frame, the left one mostly shattered and nearly gone.

Chu Mu raised a hand and tapped lightly, activating the Spiritual Core of the Battle Armor. Wisps of Spiritual Light traveled along the drive array’s prohibition patterns, coiling around the armor as a faint Spiritual Pressure began to emanate.

But this Spiritual Pressure lasted only for a few breaths before it flickered erratically, as if hitting an obstruction, and then quietly died out.

The Spiritual Light coiling around the Battle Armor dimmed along with it.

Chu Mu had anticipated this. He tapped his finger again, and as the Spiritual Light reappeared, the single-piece armor disassembled into its individual components.

At the same time, a wisp of Great Sun True Flame appeared. The various Spiritual Materials he had prepared floated before him. Under the scorching heat of the True Flame, they slowly melted and fused with each component of the Battle Armor.

Everything was done in an orderly fashion, with the precision of a pre-programmed machine, flawless and exact.

This process continued for nearly a month, by the end of which the dilapidated Battle Armor was completely restored.

The Battle Armor hovered in the cabin, exuding the grim and chilling aura of a battle-hardened general.

Chu Mu closed his eyes to meditate and recover his energy. About a quarter of an hour later, he slowly opened them.

He glanced outside the cabin. The picturesque scenery of green mountains and clear waters was gone, replaced by a sky filled with yellow sand and billowing dust.

’It’ll probably take about two years.’

Chu Mu mused to himself. They were already in the Northwest Gobi. Further south lay the territory of the Nanshan Li Family—a land scorched by war. Once he passed through their lands, he would reach the Chu River, which marked the border.

Across the Chu River was the Southern Border proper. From there, the true Vast Sea was just a stone’s throw away.

He would finally reach his destination: the Vast Sea.

He was quite curious about this Vast Sea Land, a place that had become the stuff of legends in the Great Chu Cultivation Immortal World.

He still had many unanswered questions about the path of bloodline Cultivation, and there were many things he needed that could only be found in the Vast Sea Land.

Moreover, he was eager to see what kind of cultivation... civilization would emerge from a Cultivation Immortal Realm centered on bloodlines.

After staring into the distance for a moment, he slowly withdrew his gaze. He pondered for a second, then with a sweep of his hand, a milky-white Jade Bottle appeared in his palm.

He undid the seal on the cap, revealing rows of identical milky-white Elixir Pills.

These were the Spiritual Milk Pills he had personally refined and improved, using Bell Stone Spiritual Milk as the core ingredient!

He sensed his Cultivation. The transformation of his Essence, Qi, and Spirit from practicing the Void Nether Saber Scripture was still ongoing, and his Body Refining Cultivation had long since stabilized at the Late Stage of Foundation Establishment.

Meanwhile, his Qi Cultivation, which had broken through to the Middle Stage of Foundation Establishment back in Jingmen, had seen a significant increase in its Skill Level on the Light Curtain Panel, thanks to the effects of the Spiritual Milk Pill.

However, while the progress was significant, he was still a long way from reaching the Late Stage of Foundation Establishment in his Qi Cultivation.

He consumed a Spiritual Milk Pill and slowly closed his eyes, sinking into a state of tranquility. The Medicinal Power entered his Dantian and was instantly enveloped by his True Flame. The refined, pure energy then rapidly merged with the viscous, liquid Magical Power already present there.

The surging, viscous Magical Power flowed like a tide. However, it was contained within his tough, brilliantly glowing Meridians—which were as intricate as the nine bends of the Yellow River—and could only follow their designated paths. No matter how turbulent, the Magical Power could not stray in the slightest.

A physical body at the Late Stage of Body Refining and Foundation Establishment was an existence that could remain incorruptible for thousands of years, even after death.

His Meridians, bones, and internal organs all shone with a brilliant luster, coursing with Spiritual Light. His powerful Qi Blood surged, and his vigorous life force was a clear sign of this body’s immense longevity.

Given that he cultivated his Essence, Qi, and Spirit simultaneously, the standard three-hundred-year lifespan of the Foundation Establishment realm likely no longer applied to him.

Within the cabin, Chu Mu’s figure flickered hazily amidst the flowing Spiritual Light. The endless yellow sand outside seemed unable to affect him in the slightest.

The Flying Boat proceeded slowly, just as it had before, traversing the vast, sandy gobi. The dust storms, which would be terrifying to mortals, were no more than a gentle breeze and a light drizzle to the Flying Boat, unable to affect it in the slightest.

After crossing the sandy gobi, the Flying Boat made a detour around the Southwest to avoid the ongoing war chaos, then headed straight for the Southern Border...
